DETROIT MI---An Amber Alert was in effect Tuesday morning for a missing 12-year old White Lake Township girl.

Police say that Brittany Ann McGuire was last seen getting off a school
bus on Casa Mia around 3 p.m. Monday. Chief Ronald Stephens told WWJ
that the girl had likely run away because of being disciplined recently
for poor grades.

Police said it's possible that the parents of one of her friends have taken her in, fearing she was in danger.

McGuire was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and had a
brown/pink/white backpack. If you have any information on the alleged
victim, call 911.
