SHAWNA WOOD - 19 yo /Diminished Mental Capacity - Glendale AZ

Police say a 19-year-old Glendale woman with the mental capacity of an 8-year-old has gone missing.
Authorities are asking for help in locating Shawna Wood, who was
last seen at her home near 43rd and West Glendale avenues around 3:30
p.m. Friday, a spokesman said. Wood left on a city bus with her friend Royce Harris, 17, to go
to Metro Center Mall, said Sgt. Jim Cunningham, a Glendale police spokesman.
Although Harris did return to his home in Phoenix after the mall, Harris' family members later reported him missing.
Police believe Wood may be with Harris, who is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 240 pounds.
Authorities say there are no signs of foul play, but it is unusual for Wood to be gone beyond her curfew, police said.
The woman does not normally leave the house by herself, and if left alone would not be able to find her way home, police said.



Wood is described as a White woman, 6 feet tall, 125 pounds, with
blonde hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a camouflage
shirt over a longer red shirt and blue jeans.

could hold a conversation with you and talk to you and you'd think she
was a nice kid but if you tried to help her read instructions or
understand directions, she'd have a hard time with that," Johnson said.Johnson said she's never stayed away from home this long without checking in.He's said he is also concerned that the friend she went to the mall with, another mentally challenged teen, is also missing."I don't really know what to think,” Johnson said. “I'm just really scared.”Wood is is described as about 6 feet tall and weighs 125 pounds.She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a camouflage shirt.People with any information are asked to call Glendale police at 623-930-3000.
