It's interesting for me to read all these posts about not allowing your 8 year old to walk round the immediate neighbourhood when it's still light out. When I was growing up we walked everywhere to all our friends houses etc at a very young age. People never locked their doors. Now days many in NZ will still allow it. Maybe growing up in California you can't but perhaps in Denver you could. I don't know. I've never seen a trailer park except on TV but it looks a bit like a camping ground and in NZ when on holiday you would let your kids have free reign round the camp. One thing I would say about the parents being different to me is that at 8 years old my son went to bed at 8pm. If you went to a friends to play after school you had to be back at 5pm. I feel what we should be focusing on is the 80 perps nearby because I feel that kids should be safe to play in their neighbourhood and with 80 scumbags there then it would be impossible. There has to be an answer somewhere on how to manage these creeps who can never be cured rather than let them have free reign in the community and cripple our way of life. All pedofiles should be castrated IMO. I genuinely don't see a problem with doing that. Childrens safety has to be societies first priority, always.

TRACY, Calif. -- Nearly five days after a girl disappeared from a Tracy mobile home park, police said their investigation remains "very broad" and they're "keeping tabs on everybody" in the case.
Sandra Cantu, 8, was last seen Friday afternoon walking in Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park.
Investigators have gotten more than 500 tips on her disappearance, still considered a missing person case.
Lt. Jeremy Watney, spokesman for the Tracy Police Department, said authorities are also allowing for the possibility of foul play.
"Eight years old, granted, is a very young age," he said. Watney, however, added police have found "nothing to indicate there's a reason why she would leave."
"We're leaving the whole book open," he said.
Cantu's father, Daniel, told reporters Wednesday that police questioned him, including asking if he'd taking Sandra to his home in Mexico.
Watney originally said during a media update Wednesday morning that investigators did not know Daniel Cantu's whereabouts; the police spokesman later told reporters he was unaware Cantu had been dropped off at the police station.
"It was nothing that we asked him to do," Watney told reporters Wednesday afternoon. "He's done this quite frequently" to check on the case.
A student at Jacobson Elementary School, Sandra Cantu was last seen walking from her home to a friend's home within the mobile home park, located just off West Clover Road.
Anyone with information should call the Tracy Police Department at 209-831-4550. Investigators said anyone wishing to donate money for the reward fund may call police.
She's 4 feet tall, weighs 45 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Cantu was wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings.

Tracy, CA- Sandra Cantu, 8, has been missing from her family’s mobile home park since Friday March 27th. She was last seen on surveillance video at 4PM leaving her home in the opposite direction of the exit to the park.
Two men declared by Tracy Police Department as persons of interest; Frank Wohler and Christopher Sinclair, both Orchard Estates residents, remain under surveillance sources inside the investigation revealed to blinkoncrime.com.
Christopher Sinclair, 49, whose cars have been impounded for forensic testing, has a long history with the law. Blink on crime has confirmed that Mr. Sinclair has used the alias of his deceased brother Brandon on more than one occasion. Additionally, a former resident of the Orchard Estates mobile home park, Rebecca Crowler, filed a complaint in 2003 seeking a restraining order from Sinclair charging he bashed her head into a windshield. A restraining order was also sought by Sinclair’s parents a year later in February 2004; they own the mobile home he resides in currently.
They stated in their testimony seeking the order he forced his way into their home, and that he was a heavy drinker and drug abuser. Tracy Police Lt. Jeremy Watney declared Tracy PD has not ruled anyone out, including Danny Cantu, Sandra’s Father. It was reported earlier today that Mr. Cantu agreed to a polygraph test, but police would not confirm that information as it is considered proprietary.
For the third time, search efforts focued on the Old River, located north of Tracy and accessible from S. Tracy Avenue. There are unsubstantiated reports that cadaver dogs have “hit” there, but police remain tight lipped about what led them there in the first place. Within Tracy, volunteers have been sifting through trash designated for the landfill for the last five days. Police will not specify if they have found anything there or why they are sifting through the trash. Watney went on to say that Tracy PD has received almost 600 leads, all of which they follow up on, regardless of the source. Late this afternoon volunteers searching the landfill confirmed a Hello Kitty tshirt has been found in the trash. Maria Chavez, Sandra’s Mother told police the shirt was NOT hers.
Sacramento Bounty Hunter, Leonard Padilla, has thrown his hat into the search, offering a limited reward of $10K for Sandra’s safe return. Crimestoppers and The Carrington Sund Foundation have offerd a $7K reward as well.

was seen putting on a white jumpsuit.Earlier in the day, a man was seen being led away from unit No. 43 in the park.On
Friday evening, a witness saw a man who looked like the person who was
taken in for questioning returning to the park. He walked out of a car
and went up to unit No. 43. Someone at the door gave him a hug and he
walked inside. The man fit the description of a person wearing a plaid
Pendleton shirt and scruffy hair who was being driven by police earlier
in the day.So far, no arrests have been made in the case."It's

to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Cantu was
sentenced to two years in prison for possession of a controlled
substance for sale. He served 13 months between September 2005 and
October 2006.

Amber Alert: Sandra Cantu Surveillance Video Released

Tracy, CA- The case of missing Tracy California girl Sandra Cantu, 8, has entered it’s eighth day with no sign of the child. There have been rapid developments in the case, including the release of the 8 second surveillance footage of Sandra leaving her families home last Friday March 27th at 4 PM.

Yesterday, Tracy Police and FBI converged on more neighbors of the Cantu family; David and Debra Slayter. The Slayter’s reside in Space #43 of Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park and in an interview they gave last week, see Sandra at their home several days per week.
She didn’t have a lot of kid friends,” David Slayter said. “She hung out with adults. … I always told her, you’ve got to be careful with some adults. You’ve got to be careful.”
Both vehicles registered to Mr. Slayter were also towed from the scene and placed on an enclosed Impound Bay used by Crime Scene Investigators with the FBI. A source inside the investigation has confirmed that Slayter was taken for questioning, but it was not to Tracy Police Head Quarters as press were stationed there to capture footage of his arrival. There are unconfirmed reports that Slayter was questioned by the FBI. Late last evening, a park resident reported witnessing Strayer return to his home and enter the residence after being dropped off.
Tracy Police Lt Jeremy Watney did confirm their was a third warrant served within the park, but declined to give details about what led Police to Slayter. Shortly thereafter, a road block was set up at the entrance to the park and all vehicles going into or exiting the park were searched. Watney declined to comment on any items found during any searches executed this week, citing that information is awaiting a judge’s decision on whether or not it will be sealed.
Over the last few days there have been 2 persons of interest named by TPD , several searches resulting in impounded vehicles and evidence collection in locations in and outside the mobile home park.
However, all executed warrants outside the location were directly tied to the individuals residing in the park.
Volunteer searchers met at 8am this morning to be assigned a search team and grid area. The search has been scheduled following the usage of aerial imagery utilized by the US Coast Guard designed to pick up themogenic outlines and ground disturbance data in open areas. Search teams organized by Tracy PD have concentrated significant effort on the Old River area North of Sandra’s home.
Sandra’s estranged father, Danny Cantu, returned to Tracy to speak with police and take a polygraph exam. He claimed he returned to Mexico very briefly to check on his home and his wife following a search raid by the FBI and local Mexicali Officers. Cantu has a criminal record which includes Drug Convictions and has spent time in Pelican Bay Prison; considered by some to be one of the most dangerous correctional facilities in the US. Cantu is reporting that he passed a
lie detector test and may stay in the area until Sandra is found.
Earlier this week a pink hello kitty tshirt was found at the transfer station to the landfill by volunteer searchers. Although Maria Chavez, Sandra’s mother told police she did not believe it was her daughter’s although it was similar. The shirt has been collected as possible evidence and sent to the FBI lab for testing.
Blinkoncrime.com has confirmed that Ms. Chavez was shown only a photo of the shirt for identification purposes, not the actual shirt.
I will allow my readers to asess the odds of a pink tshirt, bearing the hello kitty logo, which is reportedly what a missing child was last seen wearing , found in the trash that has been identified to be taken from the complex within the first few days of the investigation of same missing child- are.

"The perception that nothing
is being developed is primarily because I can't tell you what's being
developed," Sheneman told the media during Sunday's press conference.
"But if that's people's perception, then that's the reality, but that's not the actual truth regarding the investigation."

Suspicious Container Found in Tracy Pond

TRACY, CA - Authorities are investigating the discovery of a container in an irrigation pond in Tracy.
Tracy police say the sealed container was found by workers cleaning a pond off Tracy Boulevard. Aerials of the item show what appears to be a dark-colored suitcase. The pond is surrounded by cropland.
Tracy police and the California Highway Patrol
are on the scene. No other information about the size, color or condition of the container has been provided.
The location is a few miles from the Orchard Estates mobile home park where 8-year-old Sandra Cantu disappeared March 27. Despite hundreds of tips and ground, aerial and water searches by trained searchers and volunteers, the girl hasn't been found.
News10 has a crew headed to the pond and will have more information as it is made available.

A farming operation found the container Monday morning while draining
an irrigation pond by Bacchetti Road. The road has been closed to
traffic.Farmworkers found a black, sealed box while they were
draining the pond, KNTV reporter Jodi Hernandez said. The box wasn't
there when the pond was flooded, officials said, but it's unknown when
the water was added.Officials said an FBI evidence recovery team
would open the container. They will also search for any footprints or
tire tracks near the scene.Tracy police spokesman Sgt. Tony
Sheneman said he doesn't know how big the container is, but he noted
it's unusual for a container to show up in an irrigation ditch.The pond is about three or four miles from the mobile home park.Family
members said they are anxious for officials to open up the sealed
container and are "disturbed" by the discovery. They told KCRA 3 that
they are not giving up hope in finding the little girl alive. The
family does not plan to go to the investigation site.Police will hold a 3:30 p.m. media update about the case. Cantu's family is expected to release a statement at that time.

A body that was identified as Sandra Cantu was found inside a piece of luggage Monday in a San Joaquin County irrigation pond, Tracy police said.
Two arrests have been made in connection to the disappearance of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, Tracy police said Monday.
Sandra was last seen March 27 inside Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park, just off West Clover Road.
Farmworkers found a black, sealed case Monday while they were draining a pond near Bacchetti Road, about two miles from Orchard Estates.
Police said it was a black piece of luggage of significant size with both hard and soft sides.
Officials in white suits removed the luggage from the pond shortly after 5 p.m. It was loaded into a van and driven to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office in French Camp
