The Montclair Police Department just issued a statement:

On 06/05/2012 at approx, 2356 hours, The Montclair Police
Department took a report of a missing Juvenile. The juvenile was
identified as Altereque Jones, a 15 year old black male, described as
5’7″ in height, medium build 160 lbs. Altereque was last seen wearing
black “Jordan” style sneakers and jeans. Altereque is know to frequent
the areas of Glenfield Park, Rand Park and the Quick Check. If anyone
has any information regarding the whereabouts of Altereque Jones please
contact Det. Rivera, 973-509-4721. If anyone comes into contact with Altereque Jones on the street please contact the Montclair Police Department immediately.
A tipster sent an email to Baristanet this morning with the following information, along with a photo:

Altereque Jones

Missing 15 year old Montclair boy: Altereq (sic) Jones,
last seen 6/5, may be in the area of Glenfield Middle School in
Montclair – If you see him please notify Montclair Police 973-744-1234.
His mother, family and friends are concerned for his safety.

UPDATE: Missing Teen: Altereque Jones, 15, Has Been Found

Montclair Police said Friday morning that they have found the following teen and that he is safe.


On Thursday, Montclair Police said they were looking for a missing
Montclair teenager identified as Altereque Jones, a 15-year-old black
male, described as 5'7" tall and weighing about 160 pounds.


Altereque was last seen wearing black "Jordan" style sneakers and
jeans. Altereque is known to frequent the areas around Glenfield Park,
Rand Park, and the Quick Check, police said.


According to a posting making the rounds on Facebook, Jones was last
seen on June 5, 2012. "His mother, family and friends are concerned for
his safety," the posting said.


If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Jones
please contact Det. Rivera at 973-509-4721. If anyone comes into
contact with Jones on the street please contact the Montclair Police
Department immediately.
