HOLLISTER, Calif.– Hollister Police are asking for help in the search for a runaway girl.

14-year-old Selena Burr's grandmother reported her missing Thursday. Officers believe she
may be with 41-year-old Clint Wageman.

Police discovered Wageman and Burr have recently been in contact over the phone and on the
Internet. Wageman is a friend of her family's.

Wageman's last known address is San Francisco, CA. He is no longer at the address and his cell phone is disconnected.

Selena Burr is a fourteen-year-old, White, female. She is 5'09" tall, has blond hair, blue eyes, and weighs 175 pounds.

Wageman is a white male adult, 6'02" tall, 195 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

HOLLISTER, Calif. -- A missing 14-year-old Hollister girl likely ran off with a 41-year-old cousin whom she is in love with, family members and police said.

Selena Burr has been missing since Thursday.

Burr's legal guardian, Louise Soars, alerted police that her granddaughter crawled out her bedroom window Thursday night and vanished.

Burr is likely with her cousin, Clint Wageman, of San Francisco, who is also missing, police said. Her grandmother fears the 14-year-old girl is being sexually exploited by her cousin.

Burr was a well-behaved kid before she met Wageman for the first time at a family reunion in November, Soars said.

"She said she was going to go away with him and that they were in love," Soars said. "I was watching her day and night."




Wageman works as a case manager for City Team Ministries in San Francisco and he lives in a half-way house.

On his Facebook page, Wageman wrote that he is a recovering alcoholic who found God.

"I am a Christian man, who has recently been given a new lease on life. I am a grateful recovering alcoholic," he wrote.




"He's 41 years old and he's a drug addict. Obviously something is wrong with him or he wouldn't want to be with a 14-year-old," Soars said.

Police discovered that Wageman and Burr had been communicating through Facebook. Other information on the girl's computer revealed that she was thinking of moving north.

"Recent Internet searches on Burr’s home computer revealed she was looking at apartments for rent in Oakland," police said.

Burr is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and weighs 175 pounds. Wageman is 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighs 195 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

FBI agents and Bay Area police are helping with the search effort. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Burr is encouraged to call 911 or the Hollister Police Department at 636-4330.

Soars said she is hoping her granddaughter will walk through the front door.

"I want her to know that she's a kid and we can get this worked out and I love her," Soars said.

Last month, a 12-year-old Seaside girl left school and ran away with her 19-year-old boyfriend, Eli Escobar Garcia. The girl left a letter behind at home telling her mother that she was leaving Seaside on her own will and running away to Southern California.

She was found safe two days later by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies in a San Gabriel apartment with Garcia.

Garcia pleaded not guilty to a dozen child sex crime charges. He is currently in the Monterey County jail with a $1 million bail, and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Police urged parents to closely monitor their children's activity on the Internet, especially social networking websites, and to know whom their children are socializing with.

A 14-year-old Hollister girl believed to have run off with her
41-year-old cousin was found unharmed in San Francisco on Tuesday
afternoon.

Clint Wageman of San Francisco, a distant cousin and family friend,
was taken into custody in the Mission District, said Sgt. Michael
Andraychuk, a San Francisco police spokesman. He was later returned to
San Benito County by Hollister police officers, who are handling the
case.

Wageman and the girl, whose name is being withheld because of her
age, were spotted by a man at about 2:30 p.m., said Agnes Reid, the
girl's aunt.

The man, who recognized the pair from pictures in the news media,
called San Francisco police, who arrived to arrest Wageman and place the
girl in protective custody.

"It's a big relief to everyone, but especially to my sister," Reid said.

The girl had been missing since early Thursday, when her grandmother
and legal guardian spotted her climbing out a window. Family members
said she had threatened to run away with Wageman, who described himself
on his Facebook page as a recovering alcoholic.
