Endangered child alert issued for Lincoln Co. girl

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Law enforcement in Lincoln County
have issued an endangered child alert for a 13-year-old girl who has
been missing since Monday.

Lauren Anderson
is described as a white female, approximately 5'9" and 150 pounds, with
blue eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing board shorts, a
blue T-shirt and gold hoop earrings.

Investigators
said Lauren may be with her boyfriend, Timothy Alan Yates, 21. Yates is
described as a white male, approximately 5'8" and 210 pounds, with blue
eyes and blonde hair.

Yates may be driving a black 1995 GMC Sierra pickup truck with Alabama tag 47N17M8.

Anyone with information on either person's whereabouts is urged to contact the
Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at (931) 433-9821 or the Tennessee
Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND.

how do these children get out of the house past their parents or guardians? is no one watching and listening?

OMG I know at 13 or 14 you feel like you're hot (feces)... you feel like you're an adult and you're all ready to grow up... but you're not. And while a 13 year old may not realize that, the 21 year old sure as hell should. I remember in highschool a couple girls bragging about their 20 something boyfriends and I was like, "wth? what does a 20 something want with you?" I knew then that was wrong. And I don't know if her parents knew he was 21, but if they did, what the hell were they thinking?

As to answer your question Flash... did you ever sneak out as a kid? I did. I was able to do so successfully 2 times. I got caught on the 3rd time and never did it again. I was 13. My parents were fairly strict on me so it wasn't due to lack of supervision.

no gingernlw, i never did sneak out of the house, not even once. i think that once my parents had children, they never slept soundly again. one or both of them would get up when one of us went for a glass of water. it just wasnt worth it the trouble it wouldve caused. my dad had 4 sisters and 4 daughters (0 brothers, 0 sons) so he was on guard 24/7. lol!

Well, I waited until about 1AM. I slept with my door closed and I snuck my window open and went out. They caught me the third time because my friend, who was sleeping over, didn't shut my door tight when she came in from the bathroom and when our new puppy came back from going outside he jumped against my door and my mom noticed that the window was open. I can't tell you how much trouble I got in, but like I said, I never found it worth it again to try again.

Tennessee authorities have canceled an endangered child alert for a young Fayetteville teen.

Lauren Anderson was found sometime Friday evening in Nashville.\

Lauren's father, Mark Anderson, said her
disappearance had him afraid for her safety. He said he moved her out of
Madison County to try and escape 21-year-old Timothy Yates.

"He kept contacting Lauren, basically
stalking her; and we decided to move to Tennessee to get her away from
him," said Anderson.

Yates was arrested and is currently in the
Nashville Jail. He was charged with four counts of statutory rape and
has a bond of $200,000.

The details of his arrest are unknown.


Anderson said Yates is the son of a family
friend, and that his daughter and the man started talking on Facebook,
then through phone calls. Anderson said he caught Yates sneaking into
his home once.


Yates was charged with statutory rape in June.

"I would say to Lauren, 'Come home, we love
you.' And to Tim, 'It will get worse if you don't bring her home. Do
yourself a favor and bring my daughter home,'" said Anderson.

A 13 year old should not be on Facebook unsupervised.

My children are only allowed online when I am in the room with them and can look at the screen anytime.

Lots of men find prey on line and on Facebook.

Twinkletoes I agree. My daughter is only 9 but even when she's older the computer with internet acces will remain in a "public" part of the house. When she's a little older I'll install a key logger on it as well. Right now she's not usually online but when she is, she is on Barbie.com LOL.
