Teen girl from Champaign reported missing

CHAMPAIGN — Police are looking for a teen girl from Champaign who has been missing since Aug. 1.

According to Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn, Alyssia Winston, 16, left her home that day without permission and has not been seen since.

The girl's mother reported her missing on Tuesday.

Alyssia was described as a black female with short black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has a tattoo on her upper left arm of a circle with a face inside of it and the letters "A.J." written over it.

She was last seen wearing denim shorts and a tuxedo shirt.

Anyone with information on her location or recent whereabouts is asked to call the Champaign Police Department at 351-4545.

Additionally she is currently wearing her hair very short.

Missing Since: 08/01/2012

Details: A report was filed with the Champaign Police Department on August 14, 2012, on behalf of Alyssia Winston. Alyssia was reportedly last seen on the evening of August 1st by her mother when she left the house without permission.

Missing Champaign teen back home

UPDATED 10:30 a.m. Friday

CHAMPAIGN — A Champaign teen reported missing Tuesday has returned home.

Alyssia Winston, 16, left her Champaign home Aug. 1 without permission. Her mother reported her missing.

She returned home safely Thursday, according to police spokeswoman Rene Dunn, who had no information on where the girl had been.
