ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WZZM) - St. Joseph Police are searching for a missing child believed to be in extreme danger. Officers say Chloe West, 2, was taken around 10:30 a.m. Thursday by her biological mother, Lisa West, who has had her parental rights terminated. Lisa may be accompanied by Wayne Henry of Benton Harbor.

Chloe is 25 pounds and has brown eyes. She was last seen with her hair in 10 pigtails with many barrettes. Chloe wearing a pink short sleeved dress with white flowers and matching ruffled shorts.

Lisa West is 40 years old and is 5' 5'', 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt.

AMBER ALERT UPDATE: Missing St. Joseph girl located in Chicago


Police confirmed to WSBT late Friday afternoon a missing St. Joseph girl and her mother have been found safe in Chicago.

An Amber Alert was issued Thursday for 2-year-old Chloe West.

Mark Clapp, St. Joseph Public Safety Dept. director, said via news release, the child’s mother, Lisa West is now awaiting extradition to Michigan and will be charged with parental kidnapping.

The girl will be brought back to St. Joseph Friday night and placed in the care of the Department of Child Services.

The girl and her mother were having a supervised visit in the 500 block of Court Street in St. Joseph on Thursday, when it's believed Lisa West left the residence with Chloe, without permission from Child Protective Services.

Chloe West was found safe with her mother Lisa West in
Chicago at around 4 p.m. on Friday. Lisa West left with her daughter without
permission during a scheduled supervised visit with Child Protective Services, according
to a news release from the St. Joseph Police Department.


Chloe West will be returned to St. Joseph and placed in the
care of the Department of Human Services.

Lisa West is in custody in Chicago
awaiting extradition to Michigan to face a charge of parental kidnapping,
according to the release.
