Police join search for missing Coldwater man

COLDWATER (WKZO) -- A man has gone missing in Coldwater. Police
say 25-year-old Jesse Wade Holibaugh disappeared Monday afternoon around
4 p.m. after last being seen leaving the Community Health Center of
Branch County. Holibaugh never returned to his home that evening and is
in need of medical attention.

Holibaugh is described as a white male with blue eyes and a blond
mohawk haircut around 5'7" in height with a thin build, weighing around
115-pounds. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and khaki shorts
and was headed south on Sprague street, walking through neighborhood
yards.

Holibaugh's family says he may be disoriented and requires medication
for high blood pressure, double kidney failure, and epilepsy. Anyone
with information on Holibaugh's whereabouts is urged to contact the
Coldwater Police Department at 517-278-4525.

Body Found Believed To Be Coldwater's Jesse Holibaugh

COLDWATER (WTVB) - They will find out this week for certain, but
authorities are already fairly sure that a body found Saturday south of
Coldwater belongs to a man reported missing from the city three weeks
ago. Michigan Search and Rescue, a volunteer group of K-9 handlers, came
to the Coldwater area to search for Jesse Holibaugh, the 25 year-old
man who has been missing since August 20th. He walked out of the
Community Health Center of Branch County suffering from a number of
medical problems and vanished. The volunteer group was searching about 3
miles south of the city of Coldwater when a dog caught a scent and led
them to the body at about 10:15AM Saturday near the intersection of
Sprague and Dorrance Roads. A key retrieved from the corpse fit his
father’s lock. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death and
they still want to do DNA tests to confirm his identity.

COLDWATER, Mich. (WOOD) - Coldwater police and Michigan State Police
found a body just south of Coldwater, near Sprague Road and Dorrance
Road, around 10:15 a.m. Saturday.

Michigan Search and Rescue, a volunteer group of K-9 handlers, were searching for 25-year-old Jesse Holibaugh who has been missing since Aug. 20.

Hour News 8 spoke with Jesse's father, Terry Holibaugh, Saturday
afternoon. He said authorities told him they are 99% sure the body they
found is Jesse's, but they won't be certain until autopsy results are
returned.
Terry Holibaugh said Jesse was wearing certain things that were located on the body that was found Saturday.

Terry
said he is relieved that he doesn't have to worry about Jesse being
alone and in the cold anymore, and takes comfort in knowing he can lie
him to rest with his mother soon.
Terry said he is thankful for all of the help and support he has received from the community the past few weeks.

Funeral for man who walked away from ER









TEKONSHA, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Family and friends will say goodbye
Monday to a Coldwater man who died after wandering away from a hospital.

They are calling it a celebration of life and services will be held to honor Jesse Holibaugh.

Holibaugh
disappeared on August 20th. His dad dropped him off at the Community
Health Center of Branch County for high blood pressure because he had
double kidney failure, epilepsy and diabetes.

The 25-year-old
walked away after being discharged. His body was found three weeks later
in a field three miles south of the hospital.

We spoke with his dad after the discovery.

“He
doesn't have to be in no pain anymore, and I know right now he's with
his mother, and that's where he wants to be,” said Terry Holibaugh.
Services for Jesse Holibaugh are Monday at 1:00 pm at the Union Church of Tekonsha.

Family and friends are being asked to share stories and memories about him during the memorial.

His
family is also asking that instead of flowers, donations be made to the
American Kidney fund in Jesse's name or to your local animal shelter.
