Cherokee Co. Authorities Issue Amber Alert for Missing 3-Year-Old Boy.

Authorities in Cherokee County have issued an Amber Alert for a missing 3-year-old boy they said was taken by force by his estranged father Tuesday evening.

According to Cherokee Co. Sheriff's Office investigator Gary Cacy, the child was abducted by an estranged father around 8 p.m. Tuesday and may be in the Tulsa area.

The father and two people in three vehicles cornered the child's mother's car in a dead-end on Flint Rock Rd. near Lake Tenkiller, slashed her tires and took the child at knife point, Cacy said.

The father, identified as 24-year-old Johnny Michael Manning, reportedly threatened the mother and told her that if she informed authorities, she would never see the boy again, Cacy said.

Authorities said the couple is currently separated and in the process of getting a divorce. There is no custody agreement in place.
Around 10 p.m., Cacy said the father saw the Amber Alert on the news and threatened the mother, then hung up on her.
He is believed to be in the Tulsa area.

The child, Kegan Michael Manning, is described as a 3-year-old white male, 3 ft. tall and weighing 40 lbs. with green eyes and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a gray Tasmanian Devil T-shirt with blue pants, orange stripe on the side.

There is no description available for the father at this point.

The vehicle is described as a 2000 model 2-door white Pontiac.

The other vehicles are described as a blue 1985-1990 Chevy Blazer and a 1990s red 2-door car.

Amber Alert Canceled, Child in DHS Custody

UPDATE: 4 p.m. - According to Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the Amber Alert for Kegan Manning has been canceled. The boy is in DHS custody at this time.

UPDATE: 12:30 p.m. - According to DPS, the Amber Alert is active until canceled by Cherokee Co. Sheriff's Office, which was the issuing agency.

KTUL is awaiting response from the Cherokee Co. Sheriff's Office to confirm that the Amber Alert will be canceled.

UPDATE: 11:30 p.m. - The subject of an Amber Alert out of Cherokee County is not in any danger, according to Tulsa Police, who expect the alert to be canceled shortly.

According to Sgt. Bill Goree, the parents, Johnny and Tabor Manning, had a verbal custody agreement captured on videotape, which police have seen.

The investigation has led Tulsa Police to determine the child is safe with the father and there has been no criminal wrongdoing, Goree said.

Goree, who was on scene at the child's grandfather's home in Tulsa, said police have not seen the child as yet.

Goree said the custody agreement was not made in court, the wife is now unhappy with the agreement, and has made "additional claims that are not substantiated as far as we can tell at this end.".....
