MILL CREEK, Wash. -- An Amber Alert was issued Friday evening for 20-year-old Jaime Marie Martini, a mother who ran off with her very sick newborn baby, officials said.

Police say the infant, Annabelle Martini, was born in a Mill Creek apartment early Friday morning with a life threatening medical condition and is in need of medical attention.

The midwife assisting with the birth called 911 to summon medical help as the baby was having difficulty breathing and was gray in color, but the mother canceled the aid unit and decided to try to take the child to a local hospital herself, said Ian Durkee with Mill Creek Police.

"They never arrived at any local hospital, either in Snohomish County or in King County," Durkee said. "At this point we don't know where they're at and that's why we're trying to locate them."

Police believe Martini may be traveling in a dark green Lexus SC400 with Washington license plate number 871WJF or a white 2001 BMW 330CI with Washington license plate number AJD7417.

"She was transported by an aunt and the aunt is no longer with her. She was allegedly dropped off at a hospital but that hospital has had no contact with her, so we don't know of any vehicle that she might have access too," Durkee said.

Police have interviewed Martini's aunt, but they say she's not being very helpful with the investigation.

Jaime Martini, is described as of Native American descent with long, straight blonde hair, brown eyes, standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall weighing 135 pounds. Police do not know what she was wearing.

If anyone sees Jamie Martini or the infant, you're asked to call 911 immediately.

"We believe the situation could be worsening so there is considerable amount of urgency in locating the child," Durkee said.

I'm thinking the mother is on drugs and didn't want the newborn to be tested at a hospital.  JMO.

MILL CREEK, Wash. -- Snohomish County officials ended an Amber Alert for a baby girl born in Mill Creek. The baby was found safe Saturday morning.

The newborn, Annabelle Martini, was taken by her mother, Jaime Martini, 20. The infant was suffering from a life-threatening medical condition and was in need of medical attention.

The mother had last been seen Friday morning at The Mill at Mill Creek apartment complex in the 1100 block of Mill Creek Boulevard.

Police say they received dozens of leads from people calling in  then finally, around 2 am, federal law enforcement showed up to a house on the Tulalip Reservation and found Martini and her newborn safe inside.

The baby was listed in satisfactory condition and the mother in stable condition.

Mill Creek police say Martini delivered the baby around 6:30 a.m. Friday at the Mill Creek apartment complex with the help of a midwife. The midwife called 911 to report the baby was having difficulty breathing and was not responsive. Police were dispatching an aid car but canceled it when Jaimie Martini said she was taking the baby to a hospital at the insistence of the midwife. However, she and the baby did not check in at any area hospitals.

Police believe Jamie Martini's aunt may have picked her and the baby up from the apartment complex. Police were in contact with the aunt, but she was not cooperating with them.

Police say Martini does not live at the Mill Creek apartment where she gave birth. Officials have not said whose residence it is.
