On Thursday, more than four years after the Mountain Brook teen
disappeared while on a senior trip in Aruba, Natalee Holloway was added
to a list of missing children on the Alabama Department of Public Safety Web site.

Special
Agent Judy Orihuela, a spokeswoman with the Miami office of the Federal
Bureau of Investigation, said tonight that Holloway's family requested
that information be added to the site.

The notice describes her
as an "endangered" missing person and lists her current age as 23. It
asks that anyone with information call 1-800-228-7688.

Holloway disappeared on May 30, 2005 hours before she and classmates
from Mountain Brook High School were to return home from their trip.
Orihuela said she did not know what prompted the family to request
that her picture be posted alongside 13 other missing children and
teens from across Alabama, some who have been missing for more than 10
years and others who disapperared as recently as a few months ago.
In March, an investigator hired by Holloway's father, Dave Holloway,
who has said many times that he would not give up until all options
were exhausted, searched a pond in Aruba. Nothing was found. Holloway's
mother, Beth Holloway, has also continued to press for answers in the
case and in April ''Loving Natalee,'' a book about her family's ordeal,
was published.

Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee
Holloway, admitted that he was scared of prosecution and confessed to
disposing the American teen's body in the marshy waters of the
Caribbean off the island of Aruba, a Dutch tabloid newspaper reported
this morning.
According to De Telegraaf,
van der Sloot made these statements during an interview with RTL 5, a
German television station. A full interview is expected to air this
Sunday on the network.
This alleged confession comes almost two years after undercover tapes were released by Dutch crime reporter Peter R. de Vries,
in which van der Sloot appears to admit he was present when Holloway
died and that he helped dump her body in the ocean. De Vries, who sat
down for an exclusive interview with ABC News' Chris Cuomo back in 2008
after the tapes went public, says he is "totally convinced Joran is
telling the truth" on the tape.
"Joran is telling the truth about what happened to Natalee," De
Vries told Cuomo, adding that "she died in his arms on the beach that
night."
The chief prosecutor in the Holloway case, Peter Blanken, told
'De Telegraaf' that the so-called confession in 2008 resulted in a new
investigation into the disappearance of Holloway, but eventually
concluded without results. "It became clear that this statement is held
together by lies and fantasy," Blanken said. "Times are wrong and named
witnesses have denied."
Blanken said he finds van der Sloot's new alleged admission in
the RTL-5 interview also not credible. According to CNN, Blanken said
he tried to verify van der Sloots claims and ultimately that they "
couldn't be true." Blanken added that, "We talked with several
witnesses and reviewed several facts. The story is unbelievable and not
true, in my opinion."
De Telegraaf reports that Van der Sloot is expected to conduct another interview this week in Frankfurt, Germany.
Holloway went missing back in May 2005 during a high school
graduation trip to Aruba. Her disappearance received international
attention.
The Man Who Lured Van der Sloot to Talk

In the ABC interview in 2008 Patrick van der Eem,
described in detail how he painstakingly gained the young Dutch
suspect's trust, took his suspicions to Holland's leading investigative
reporter and began a sting operation that led to van der Sloot's
caught-on-camera admissions.
"I am telling you honestly, I know what happened to that girl,"
van der Sloot told Van der Eem, on the undercover video. He goes on to
say that Holloway died in his arms and that he called a friend to
dispose of her body.
On the tape, van der Sloot further describes to van der Eem that
Holloway suffered a seizure during a romantic encounter between the
pair, who had met hours before at a local nightclub.
At another point, he told van der Eem, "I tried to shake her,
and I was shaking the b****. I was like, 'What is wrong with you man?'
I almost wanted to cry."
Van der Sloot said he feels lucky the police were not able to
recover Holloway's body. "I think I am incredibly lucky that she's
never been found because if she had been found I would be in deep
[excrement]," van der Sloot also said on the tape.
De Vries dismissed van der Sloot's claim that he was lying on
the tape or that drugs affected his statement, saying "I don't buy
these allegations."
Joran Talks

In an exclusive interview with ABC News' Chris Cuomo in 2006, van
der Sloot said he planned to have sex with Holloway when they left a
bar together.
"We were planning on going to my house, because she said she
wanted to go to my house," he said. "My intention was to take her to
the house to have sex with her."
But the couple did not end up sleeping together, he told Cuomo.
"I asked her if she wanted to have sex, and she was fine with it," he
said. "I didn't have a condom with me though in my wallet, and I won't
have sex with a girl without a condom."
Holloway, who was visiting Aruba on a school trip, met van der
Sloot at a casino the night she disappeared. How they met and what went
on between them has been the focus of endless speculation by officials
and Holloway's friends and family.
"I
sat down there and within five minutes, there was a group of girls from
the Mountain Brook school that came up to me and sat down next to me
and they wanted to play as well," van der Sloot told Cuomo. "They'd
already been drinking that day and had drinks with them. We played
blackjack for a while, and I told them whether or not to hit."
'I Didn't Want Anyone to Know'

Van der Sloot admitted in the 2006 interview that he had a
reputation in Aruba as a ladies' man, but he said he has been portrayed
"unfairly" as a "murderer and a rapist and everything I'm not."
"In Aruba that was part of my lifestyle ... going out, being
single and picking up girls," he said. "Going out with them, having a
good time and then saying goodbye." Soon after admittedly lying to
police about having dropped Holloway off at her hotel, van der Sloot
became the main suspect in the case.
Van der Sloot -- along with Deepak Kalpoe and Satish Kalpoe --
were arrested June 9, 2005 on suspicion of involvement in Holloway's
disappearance. Van der Sloot admitted that he was with her but denied
any wrongdoing at the time. All were released after a court ruled that
there wasn't enough evidence to hold them. Van der Sloot said he didn't
want to tell the truth because he was scared.
"I didn't want anyone to know," he told Cuomo. "I didn't want anyone to know I left her at the beach."

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Empty Re: NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba

The father of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway
has asked a Pennsylvania couple to share their assertions that an
underwater photo may show the remains of his daughter.
Patti and John Muldowney were
snorkeling off the coast of Aruba last October when they snapped
a photo of what appears to be a human skeleton.
The alleged remains went unnoticed until months later when the Manheim, Pa. couple was looking
over trip pictures with some friends.
"The first thing that my husband said was maybe that could be Natalee Holloway," Patti Muldowney said.
NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Holloway+photo+and+underwater+composite

The couple showed the photo to friends, doctors and
their local law enforcement before passing it along to the feds in
February.
They also sent a copy to the missing teen's parents. And Thursday evening Dan Holloway called the
Lancaster County couple to discuss what they had found.
"He said he's in favor of it because it keeps the investigation going," John said after the conversation.
The couple also spoke to the man who wrote a novel about Holloway's 2005 disappearance.
"He called and said 'John,
you may have the final chapter to the biggest crime of the century,"
John explained.
Beth Twitty, Holloway's mother, is also aware of the photo,
but chose not to comment, her attorney said today.
Holloway was visiting the
island nation in the summer of 2005 during a class trip when she
disappeared. Much speculation has surrounded three men she was last seen
with -- Joran van der Sloot, the son of a Dutch diplomat, and Deepak
and Satish Kalope.
Van der Sloot has long been suspected in the girl's disappearance. He's made several
confessions to media outlets, been arrested twice and both times
released due to a lack of evidence.
The FBI will be visiting the Mundowneys in the next few days to further investigate the photo and
discuss the couple's claims, agents confirmed Thursday.
While some feel the photo
may just be a bunch of rocks, the elderly grandparents are sure of what
they see.
"This body is laying on its back," John said as he traced over the picture with his finger.
The couple hopes, if the alleged body turns out to be Holloways', that it will bring some closure
to her torn family.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Police found nothing but rocks and coral while
searching underwater for the remains of missing U.S. teen Natalee
Holloway, the Aruba prosecutors' office said Thursday.Police dove
several times on Wednesday and Sunday after an American couple turned
over an underwater photo of what they believed might have been her
remains, said spokeswoman Ann Angela. The couple were diving while on
vacation in Aruba last year.Divers didn't find any items in the
photo, Angela said."We looked at it seriously," she said. "It did
not prove successful."The 18-year-old from Mountain Brook,
Alabama, disappeared while on vacation in Aruba in 2005 and was last
seen leaving a bar with Joran van der Sloot on the final night of a high
school graduation trip.Van der Sloot has been detained several
times, but Aruban prosecutors say they lack evidence to charge him.Police
believe the couple from Manheim, Pennsylvania, likely zoomed in on some
coral, giving the impression that it might have been a skull and bones,
Angela said. The search was one of many launched to find
Holloway.

The prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of American teen
Natalee Holloway in Aruba is now wanted by cops in Peru for
viciously murdering a 21-year-old woman — exactly five years to the day
that Holloway went missing.Joran van der Sloot, 22, is believed
to have brutally stabbed Stephany Flores Ramirez in his Lima hotel room
and then rolled her corpse into a blanket before checking out Sunday. Van
der Sloot fled Peru on a bus Monday, slipping into the neighboring
South American nation of Chile, authorities said. The
blood-splattered body of Flores — the daughter of a former Peru
presidential candidate — was discovered in van der Sloot’s hotel room
only today.

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Hijacorredor_asesiNADA171310--300x300

Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez was found murdered in
Peru.
The principal suspect in the case is Joran Van Der Sloot.

An arrest warrant for the suspect, a Dutch national, has been issued
by the international police agency Interpol. Chilean police today were
scouring border areas, hotels, backpacker hostels and other places for
him. “This is my daughter’s assassin,” said Flores’ dad, Ricardo
Flores, a prominent circus operator, politician and former race-car
driver, according to CBS News.“We have all the evidence to show
that the killer is this man,” Flores, 48, told CNN en Espanol. But
van der Sloot’s New York lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, cautioned people not
to jump to conclusions.“Joran has a bulls-eye on his back, and
any time there is any foul play that could be connected to Joran, he’s
an automatic suspect,” Tacopina said. “It doesn’t mean he killed her.”
Tacopina said van der Sloot has not contacted him in the past several
days. He added that he did not know where the suspect is. Flores’
murder comes five years after Holloway, a blond, 18-year-old, Alabama
high-school student, disappeared on the Caribbean island after last
being seen with van der Sloot outside a nightclub — in frighteningly
similar circumstances to those involving the pretty, brunette, Peruvian
woman.Van der Sloot never was charged in Holloway’s
disappearance, despite being arrested and detained twice by authorities
in Aruba. It looks like he won’t be so lucky in the case of
Flores. The head of the criminal investigation unit of the Lima
police, Cesar Guardia Vasquez, told reporters there is “incriminating
evidence” linking van der Sloot to Flores’ savage murder. Van der
Sloot, who has gallivanted around the world since Holloway’s
disappearance, flew to Peru from Colombia to play in a poker tournament
at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima. It’s unclear if he was with any
friends at the time. He checked into the Milaflores Hotel Tac in
Lima on May 14.Guardia said police have surveillance video that
shows van der Sloot and Flores together in the casino Saturday night.
Flores’ dad said he did not think his daughter previously knew van
der Sloot and speculated that they began chatting in English, a language
they both knew, when they met, according to CNN. Flores left the
casino to drop off some girlfriends at 2:35 a.m. Sunday but then
apparently returned to the casino. Police said a guest and a
worker at the Miraflores Hotel Tac saw van der Sloot and Flores entering
his room there at about 5 a.m. Sunday. Van der Sloot then
checked out of the hotel alone around 9 a.m., four hours after arriving
there with Flores, Guardia said.It was not clear why it took three days for Flores’ body to be
discovered. Her corpse, which was clothed, was lying face down on the
room’s floor, with abrasions on her face and body and signs of trauma,
according to Guardia, who said officials are awaiting autopsy results. Flores’
father told reporters that authorities believe she was slain at about 8
a.m. Sunday in Van Der Sloot’s room.Ricardo Flores also said
police found Stephany Flores’ car about 50 blocks from the Milaflores
Hotel, and that inside that vehicle were pills similar to ones used in
cases of date rape, CNN reported. Ramirez’s murder occurred
exactly five years to the day Holloway disappeared May 30, 2005, while
she was on a high-school graduation trip to Aruba.Holloway was
last seen with then-17-year-old Van Der Sloot and two pals, brothers
Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, outside a night club on the island nation,
which is part of the Netherlands. The ensuing mystery as to what
happened to Holloway generated a media firestorm. Her body as never been
found.Van Der Sloot was arrested in connection with her
disappearance twice — in June 2005, and again in 2007. But he was never
charged.Still, the sensational case has continued to generate
headlines over the years, particularly over reports that van der Sloot
has occasionally revealed details about what actually happened to
Holloway that night. In 2008, a Dutch journalist claimed van der
Sloot had confessed to murdering her and then dumping her body in the
sea. Two years later, a Dutch newspaper reported that van der Sloot had
said Holloway fell off a balcony while drunk. Van der Sloot’s
prominent lawyer dad, Paulus, dropped dead while playing tennis in Aruba
at the age of 57 in February.Today, spokeswoman for the Aruba
prosecutor’s office said van der Sloot remains the main suspect in
Holloway’s disappearance. "What’s happening now is incredible,”
said the spokeswoman, Ann Angela, about the South American police search
for van der Sloot.“At the moment, we don’t have anything to do
with it, but we are following the case with great interest, and if
Peruvian authorities would need us, we are here.”Holloway’s
mother, Elizabeth Twitty, had no comment on the new case, according to
her spokeswoman, Sunny Tillman. Holloway’s dad, Dave Holloway,
did not return a call seeking comment. But the co-author of a book
that Dave Holloway wrote about his daughter’s case yesterday lashed out
at van der Sloot.“I’m not surprised by this new development. I
never doubted that Joran was capable of hurting women,” said R.
Stephanie Good, co-author of “Aruba: The Tragic Untold Story of
Natalee Holloway and Corruption in Paradise.” “I really hope
that he gets what’s coming to him,” Good said. “It’s long overdue.” Kathy
Drenga, a Connecticut phlebotomist and EMT who has traveled to Aruba to
research the Holloway case and who maintained a Web site that tracked
the search for her body, said of van der Sloot, “I really hope they
catch him.”“I’d really like to see him pay,” said Drenga. “His
father’s dead now . . . he was the one person who could save Joran from
all the bad things he did, and now he’s not there.”But van der
Sloot’s lawyer, Tacopina, said his client has been unfairly treated in
the past and suggested that might be going on now with Flores’ murder. “We
have to be wary of any stories that come out about Joran van der
Sloot,” Tacopina told The Post. “So many have been proved inaccurate or
out-and-out completely fabricated.”“There are a lot of facts that
have to be fleshed out before we can jump to the ‘I knew it’
conclusion,” the lawyer said.Tacopina said he last heard from Van
Der Sloot about a month ago in a phone call he made to the lawyer’s
Manhattan office.“He was really trying to get his life back on
track,” Tacopina said. “He called to say he was fine."

A Dutch man suspected in the 2005 disappearance of Natalee
Holloway in Aruba was charged Thursday in Alabama with trying to
extort $250,000 in return for disclosing the location of her
body.

A criminal complaint by the U.S. Attorney in federal court in
Birmingham also accused van der Sloot in May 2010 of promising to
describe the circumstances of Holloway's death in return for the
money. According to a sworn statement, van der Sloot got a partial
payment of $15,000 wired to a Netherlands bank soon after.

Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot arrives at
Chile's Investigative Police
headquarters in Santiago, Thursday, June 3,
2010. Peruvian police
are seeking Van der Sloot in connection with the
last May 30
killing of 21-year-old Stephany Flores at a Lima hotel.
Van der Sloot was previously arrested in the 2005
disappearance of U.S. teen Natalie Holloway,
but later released by Dutch authorities.

He has long been a suspect in Aruba in the disappearance of
Holloway, an 18-year-old from Mountain Brook, Ala., who was on a
graduation trip to Aruba with other seniors when she turned up
missing as they flew home. Her mother still lives in Alabama.

The name of the person paying the money was not given. A call to
U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance was not immediately returned. She said at
a news conference that her office would not be releasing any more
details.

Van der Sloot was arrested Thursday in Chile as a suspect in the
death of a 21-year-old Stephany Flores of Peru. Her neck was broken
Sunday, five years to the day after Holloway disappeared, and her
body found by a maid Tuesday in a Lima hotel room registered to van
der Sloot. Police believe he met the University of Lima business
student for the first time the previous night at a nearby
casino.

The two-count complaint in Alabama also charged van der Sloot
with wire fraud stemming from the $15,000.

A statement from Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty said that she
"extends her deepest sympathy to the family of Stephany Flores
Ramirez and prays for swift and sure justice." She said that she
was grateful for the prayers and support she's received.

A message left for Van der Sloot's attorney, Joe Tacopina of New
York City, was not immediately returned.

Aruban authorities didn't prosecute van der Sloot in Holloway's
May 30, 2005, disappearance even after he was caught on video
saying he had asked a friend to dump her body.

He told investigators he left her on a beach, drunk. That's the
last anyone saw of her. Van der Sloot was twice arrested in her
disappearance _ and twice released for insufficient evidence.

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Empty Re: NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba

Post by TomTerrific0420 Fri Jun 04, 2010 1:39 am

It's a case that captured worldwide attention, and five years later,
it's back -- the disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in
Aruba. Suspicion has long centered on Joran van der Sloot, and now he's
under arrest for murder in Peru.

The sight of Joran van der Sloot once again in police custody does
little to comfort the family of Natalee Holloway.

Instead, by phone, her aunt, Linda Allison, says it adds to their pain.

"If they could have convicted him of wrongdoing in Aruba, then we
possibly would not have had the loss of Stephany in Peru," said Allison.

She was talking about 21-year-old Stephany Flores. Peruvian authorities
say she was murdered in a hotel room registered to van der Sloot this
past Sunday, which was also the five-year anniversary of Natalee
Holloway's disappearance in Aruba.

Both women were last seen alive with Joran van der Sloot.

"It's just a sad day that again another young woman's life is gone,"
said Allison, adding that her family knows firsthand the pain the Flores
family is now enduring. "It has been bringing up some of those raw
emotions and feelings from where we were five years ago with all this."

Allison says the similarities between Stephany's murder and Natalee's
disappearance are eerie, but there's one key difference that gives her
family hope.

"There's going to be forensic evidence," Allison said. "We had no
forensic evidence. We have nothing. We don't have a shred of anything to
go by; where Stephany's body, they can do an autopsy, determine the
cause of death, determine what role if any, if there's DNA evidence
linking Joran van der Sloot to her death."

But Allison says even if van der Sloot is convicted of Flores' murder,
it will do little to comfort her family.

"Not really knowing what happened to Natalee is always going to be one
of those things that will always be in the back of our minds," she said.

Joran
van der Sloot was taken into custody Thursday afternoon near Vina del
Mar in Chile. It's about 1,500 miles away from where the murder
occurred in Lima, Peru. Van der Sloot did not talk to reporters as he
walked into a police station in Santiago.

Chilean authorities say he has been calm while in custody, and they are
awaiting instructions from their counterparts in Peru.

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Empty Re: NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba

A top Peruvian official suspects the Dutch playboy linked to two
high-profile murders committed precisely five years apart is a serial killer.
"We are probably talking about a serial killer," said Interior
Minister Octavio Salazar as Joran Van der Sloot was returned Friday to
face murder charges in Peru.
NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Alg_sloot

The suspect arrived aboard a Chilean police Cessna 310, with
authorities grabbing him at the border town of Tacna.
Van der Sloot was arrested a day earlier in Chile while fleeing to a
seaside resort. He had been on the lam for five days.
The suspect ignored shouted questions from reporters before he was
led away. He told investigators in Chile that he did not kill Stephany Flores.
The 22-year-old is suspected of snapping the woman's neck inside his
Lima hotel room on Sunday - the fifth anniversary of Alabama teen
Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba.
In both cases, the women were last seen alive late at night in Van der Sloot's company.
His flight was possibly funded by $5,000 in casino winnings stolen
from Flores, South American authorities said. He paid $620 for a cab
ride from Lima to neighboring Chile.
The Dutch national was carrying two bags of luggage and chain-smoking
as he departed the morning after the Flores killing, his cabbie said yesterday.
The father of the latest victim echoed Salazar's concerns about Van
der Sloot's appetite for violence.
"This isn't a coincidence; this is murder," said Ricardo Flores, a
former racecar driver. "There's a matter pending in Aruba, and we don't
know how many more remain unpunished."
Flores, 21, was beaten so brutally that her neck was broken, and her
battered body bore multiple bruises and scratches. No weapon was found,
indicating the killer used his bare hands.
(Poster's Note: Some sources are indicating that there WAS a weapon used,
a baseball bat. The bat was reportedly found at the crime scene
)
While Van der Sloot was in custody, Alabama prosecutors accused him
of promising to provide the location of the long-missing teen's body for a $250,000 payoff.
Court papers didn't identify the target of the extortion plot, but
did charge Van der Sloot collected $15,000. Holloway's family lives in Mountain Brook, AL

Moist-Eyed Dutch Murder Suspect InterrogatedFormer Holloway Suspect Wanted In New Murder

FRANK BAJAK, Associated Press Writers
POSTED: Saturday, June 5, 2010
UPDATED:
9:20 pm EDT June 5, 2010
LIMA, Peru -- The lone suspect in the
disappearance of U.S. teen Natalee Holloway was paraded -- moist-eyed
and looking stunned -- before reporters Saturday as Peruvians denounced
him and detectives began interrogating him about the killing of a Lima
student. Joran van der Sloot arrived at criminal
police headquarters in a brown Interpol SUV and was escorted across an
auditorium crowded with shouting, shutter-snapping journalists three
times. Wearing a green bulletproof vest, his hands
handcuffed behind him, the husky 22-year-old stared straight ahead and
didn't respond to reporters' questions or make eye contact.
Outside, seven Indian shamans in brightly colored ponchos
repeatedly stabbed a cloth doll representing van der Sloot in a
"spiritual punishment" ritual. "We're punishing him so that all the
forces of evil are purged," one shouted. About an
hour earlier, onlookers yelled insults at the man who has dominated
Peruvian front pages as police switched cars south of the foggy coastal
capital. His interrogation began almost immediately,
Gen. Cesar Guardia, chief of Peru's criminal police, told The
Associated Press. Van der Sloot is suspected of killing 21-year-old
Stephany Flores on May 30 at his hotel room in the Peruvian capital
Police in neighboring Chile caught van der Sloot on
Thursday and expelled him across the border a day later. He was then
driven 17 hours north in a police caravan. Chilean
police spokesman Fernando Ovalle said the Dutchman told them he did not
kill Flores, who was found battered with a broken neck.
But van der Sloot did acknowledge that "he met her and at some point
they went to a casino," Ovalle said. Police
released video Saturday taken by hotel security cameras showing van der
Sloot and his alleged victim entering his hotel room together.
Flores trails van der Sloot, her head bowed, after he is
given his room key. She is in the same attitude when she follows him
into the room. Van der Sloot is wearing a white,
long-sleeved button-down shirt and jeans in the video. Flores wears a
dark sleeveless T-shirt and jeans and has her hair up.
Later video shows the Dutchman leaving the hotel alone with his bags.
He is in a patterned shirt and carries a day pack on his back and a gym
bag in his hand. Guardia, the police chief, said
that at 8:10 a.m., nearly an hour and a half before leaving the hotel,
van der Sloot walked across the street alone, bought bread and two cups
of coffee at a supermarket and returned to his hotel room.
Peru's interior minister, Octavio Salazar, reminded reporters
that the murder investigation was not over: "We can't rush the matter,
nor can we give details concerning the event or that investigation
itself," he told a brief news conference. "In two
weeks we'll know if the girl had sexual relations or if there is alcohol
in her blood," Dr. Cesar Tejada, the deputy Lima medical examiner, told
The Associated Press in an interview. He said toxicological reports
should also be able to tell whether she was given a so-called "date
rape" drug. Flores' father, Ricardo, told The Associated Press he
believes van der Sloot drugged his daughter. The
girl's father told the AP that video cameras had also tracked the couple
as they walked before dawn Sunday to van der Sloot's hotel from a
casino in Lima's upscale Miraflores district where the two met playing
poker. She had dropped two girlfriends off at their
homes several hours earlier. El Comercio, citing a police report, said
she sent a text message to one to tell her she was "walking up the
stairs to my bedroom." Guardia said he could not
confirm that report. Flores, a 48-year-old circus
promoter and former race car driver, said he doesn't want the death
penalty for van der Sloot, only justice. In Peru, murder carries a
prison sentence of up to 35 years. Van der Sloot
remains the prime suspect in the May, 30, 2005 disappearance of Alabama
teen Holloway on the Dutch island of Aruba. He was arrested and released
in that case, and faces no charges. Flores told the
AP in an interview at his home that the loss of his daughter may ensure
that van der Sloot is punished for that death. "My
daughter was an instrument for this girl (Holloway), so that there can
be justice," he said. "He's going to have to talk now."
Van der Sloot also now faces criminal charges in the United States
of trying to extort $250,000 from Holloway's family in exchange for
disclosing the location of Holloway's body and describing how she died.
U.S. prosecutors charged van der Sloot with the crime on
Thursday, saying $15,000 was transferred to a Dutch bank account in his
name. In the Netherlands on Friday, prosecutors acting on a U.S. request
raided two homes seeking evidence in the case, seizing computers, cell
phones and data-storage devices. Peruvian President
Alan Garcia told reporters on Friday that van der Sloot would have to be
tried in Stephany Flores' death before any extradition request could be
considered. A college business student less than a
year from graduation, Flores was found late Tuesday in the Lima hotel
room where van der Sloot had been staying since arriving in Peru on May
14 from Colombia. She was fully clothed, with
multiple bruises and scratches on her body but no signs she had been
sexually assaulted, Guardia told the AP. A tennis
racket was found in the room "that could have been the murder weapon but
that's so far not been proven," said Tejada. "My
daughter resisted," Flores told the AP. "Under the fingernails of my
daughter there are traces, evidence. That's why they didn't permit her
cremation." Flores said he expected her to be exhumed for DNA testing,
and Tejada said that was likely. Holloway's uncle,
Paul Reynolds, told NBC's "Today" show Friday that the family hopes to
see van der Sloot behind bars and the Aruba case reopened.
Holloway, 18, was celebrating her high school graduation on Aruba
when she disappeared. Van der Sloot told investigators he left her on a
beach, drunk. That's the last anyone saw of her. Van der Sloot was
twice arrested in her disappearance -- and twice released for
insufficient evidence. Two years ago, a Dutch
television crime reporter captured hidden-camera footage of van der
Sloot saying that after Holloway collapsed on the beach he asked a
friend to dump her body in the sea. But judges in Aruba ruled it
insufficient to re-arrest him. The same journalist, Peter de Vries,
reported later in 2008 that van der Sloot was recruiting Thai women in
Bangkok for sex work in the Netherlands.

LIMA, Peru - Joran van der Sloot confessed to
the slaying of a 21-year-old woman in a Lima hotel room, a high-ranking
Peruvian government official announced on Monday.
According to La Republica newspaper, van der Sloot said he broke Stephany Flores' neck after she
grabbed his laptop without his permission and found out that he was
involved in the disappearance of an American woman.
The paper quoted van der Sloot as saying, "I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my
private life... she didn't have any right.
"I went to her and I hit her. She was scared,
we argued and she tried to escape. I grabbed her by the neck and hit her."
A lawmaker confirmed that van der Sloot confessed to a
police officer during interrogation. However, the source did not know
the circumstances under which the confession was allegedly obtained.
The Dutchman, who is also the prime suspect in U.S. teen Natalee Holloway's 2005
disappearance in Aruba, is being held in a seventh-floor cell with a
bunk bed and blanket and gets three hot meals a day, said Maj. Jose
Gamboa, spokesman for the Peruvian national police.
On Tuesday, police planned to take van der Sloot back to the hotel where Flores' body was
found to participate in a reconstruction of the events leading to her
slaying, Col. Abel Gamarra, head of the Information Directorate of Police, said.
Members of van der Sloot's family, including his mother, were planning to travel to Lima
on Tuesday.
Poker
Van der Sloot is suspected in the May 30 killing — five years to the day
after Holloway's disappearance — of Flores, a business student who
police say he met playing poker at a casino.
On Saturday, police released video taken by security cameras at the hotel where van der
Sloot had been staying since arriving from Colombia on May 14. It shows
the two entering van der Sloot's room together and the Dutchman leaving
alone four hours later.
Thewoman's battered body was found on the hotel room's floor more than two
days later, her neck broken. Van der Sloot had by then crossed into
Chile, where he was arrested Thursday.
In video taken of the husky 22-year-old Dutchman
that was broadcast Sunday by a TV channel, Peruvian police search van
der Sloot's belongings in his presence.
They pull out of his backpack a laptop, a
business-card holder and 15 bills in foreign currency. Van der Sloot
tells police the money includes Thai, Cambodian and Bolivian currency.
He is asked for credit cards and documents and appears to say — his
Spanish is very rudimentary — that they are in a hotel room back in
Chile.
Earlier denial
Earlier, Peru's chief homicide investigator, Col. Miguel Canlla, would neither
confirm nor deny a Sunday report in the Lima newspaper El Comercio that
van der Sloot told his Peruvian questioners he was innocent of the Flores killing.
"I don't know where that information came from," Canlla told The Associated
Press. "We are still in the investigative stage."
Chilean police had said that van der Sloot declared himself innocent in the Lima slaying but
acknowledged having met Flores.
Van der Sloot was represented by a state-appointed lawyer during Saturday's questioning.
Until he hires his own counsel, "the guys prosecuting
him will decide which attorney he's going to get," van der Sloot's U.S.
attorney, Joseph Tacopina, told reporters.
Tacopina said the suspect's family "is trying to
find competent counsel."She said Peruvian authorities have assured the
Dutch government they are treating him well. "They are taking this case
very seriously," she added. "The world is watching."
The suspect spoke to his mother by telephone for the first time Saturday, Lowe said.
Van der Sloot's father, a former judge and attorney on the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba, died
in February. The suspect has two brothers. After a 17-hour journey up the Pan-American
Highway from Chile in a police caravan Saturday, the young Dutchman was
paraded, sheathed in bulletproof vest and handcuffed, before reporters
at criminal police headquarters in Lima.
He was then submitted to an initial interrogation. A
judge subsequently granted prosecutors' request to extend van der
Sloot's preliminary detention order seven more days, said Gamboa, the
national police spokesman.
Iftried and convicted of murder, van der Sloot faces a potential prison term of 35 years.
Heremains, meanwhile, the prime suspect in the disappearance in Aruba of
Holloway, an Alabama teen who hasn't been seen since May 30, 2005. He
was arrested and released in that case, and faces no charges.
Extortion charge
Van der Sloot was charged Thursday in the United
States with trying to extort $250,000 from Holloway's family in exchange
for disclosing the location of her body and describing how she died.
U.S. prosecutors say
$15,000 was transferred to a Dutch bank account in his name. In the
Netherlands on Friday, prosecutors raided two homes in the case, seizing
computers, cell phones and data-storage devices.Peruvian President Alan Garcia told reporters
Friday that van der Sloot would have to be tried in Flores' death before
any extradition request could be considered.
Holloway, 18, was celebrating her high school graduation on Aruba when she disappeared.
Van der Sloot told investigators he left her on a beach, drunk. That's
the last anyone saw her.
Twoyears ago, a Dutch television crime reporter captured hidden-camera
footage of van der Sloot saying that after Holloway collapsed on the
beach he asked a friend to dump her body in the sea.
The same journalist, Peter de Vries, reported later in 2008 that van der Sloot was recruiting
Thai women in Bangkok for sex work in the Netherlands.

Article from person who claims to have map of where Natalee is, as mentioned on the blog radio show: (*Credit WS) Just bizarre, IMO (Sorry so long, but this kind of statement tends to "disappear" on us sometimes...): NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Suspect
http://www.terrorjaap.nl/2010/06/03/bubali_pond.html

The Aruban Authorities
The way communications went with the authorities is at least 'peculiar'. My personal opinion is that they cover the truth. If the balcony confession would ultimately be very close to the truth, then heads are going to roll. As Gerald Dompig tells the research team; in june 2005 a tip that the police should search the house of the X family was ignored because the witness was not found credible. The witness was a homeless person. Furthermore according to Gerald Dompig; the only area witch was never searched was Bubali plas/lake, a bird sanctuary and protected nature. The X residence and Bubali lake are geographically close and fit perfectly in the time line. Travelling and disposing of a body from those locations fits in the missing 45 minutes when Joran's cell phone mysteriously lost signal. The combination of mistakes in 2005 will massively damage the reputation of the authorities and high ranking individuals.
The letter from Pietersz
Off course my opinion is mine alone and might be subjective. However in my possession is the official response of the procurer general Pietersz after receiving the video with the Dusseldorf confession. Pietersz claims that the confession is untrustworthy:
-X denies everything
-The mother of X is a witness that X was home with her that night.
-The family had a different car at the time.
-The house does not match the description of Joran.
-The balcony and balustrade are constructed in such a way that the fall of Natalee which Joran describes is hardly possible.
-The description of Bubali lake does not match Joran's statement.
-A behavioral expert concludes the story is not true.
The letter from RTL
Y (head of the investigation, a renowned former police detective) and his colleague went to Aruba to check the work of the Aruban authorities. The team was very puzzled to find completely different results!

-The prime witness is the mother of the subject, this hinders reliability
-The family did have the green pick-up truck which is explicitly mentioned by Joran (also! Dompig says at the time there was a tip so search for a green pick-up truck!)
-At the end of 2005 the house was sold and the new owners significantly rebuilded the house.
-The new owners testify that the house was the way Joran describes in the Dusseldorf confession before the rebuilding! Unfortunately the new owners completely ripped out the old garden stone plateaus below the balcony and replaced it with solid concrete, so all DNA traces even imbedded deeply in those stones which could have been found years later are destroyed.
-The same goes for the balcony. The new owners testify that the current balcony construction is different then in 2005! In 2005 at the side where Joran claims Natalee fell, there was a small ledge on which she could have danced, of which she could have fallen induced by alcohol and cocaine! The new owners replaced the balustrade to the end so their new sunscreen would not touch the balustrade when using it blocking out the sun!
-The way Joran describes Bubali lake is indeed not the way it is in 2009! However in 2005 the water level was high enough and the vegetation was the way Joran tells it is!
-Our own renowned experts have viewed the video material of the confession and they think it is trustworthy
The meeting between Y, RTL officials and Aruban officials.
After the RTL letter their was a meeting. According to Y the officials were mostly interested in falsifying the confession then to hear counterarguments. Y tells me that a lot of strange things happened in the conversation. For example they claimed that X has never dealt drugs. However Y tricked X to sell him drugs when Y was at Aruba to investigate! According to the RTL representative the officials were on a mission to stop the broadcast.
Facts are facts. The letters are solid evidence that the Aruban authorities have not conducted a sound, professional investigation. The letters are in my possession.
Why would Joran tell the truth in the Dusseldorf interview?
For over a year, I played a game against Joran. I won a million euro in a reality show and Joran was fan of my (acted) personality "Terror Jaap". He often got in to trouble. I got closer and closer to him by pretending to be his friend. I paid his rent when he got kicked out, I paid his gambling debt etc. He truly saw me as the guy who wanted to help him. When he cheated the lie detector test, my help, advice and money ended for a while. Time went by and Joran told me he had nothing left. His creditors from the coffee shop business threatened him. His parents wouldn't speak to him anymore. His girlfriend had left him etc. I offered him a way out. A contract which would make him a millionaire (so he thought) and the price would be to tell the truth. I told him he'd be out of jail in 2 years, then he would be 23 years old with a million on his bank account. He took the bate!
The contract was formulated very carefully, 13 pages long. Most important Joran would receive nothing if could be proven that he lied! The only way Joran could change his life and get the money was to tell the truth!
Dave, I am terribly sorry that Joran wanted to make money over your daughter. Off course that is morally horrible. However the only way to lure Joran in a trap is with money.
Before the interview Joran talked extensively about civil right. I should hold on to the money RTL and American broadcasters would pay us so civil claims from the Holloway family would lead to nothing. After his jail time he would relocate and to prevent any paper trails he wanted the money in cash. For 15 months in a reality house I pretended to be a dark figure, Terror Jaap, I'm not a paid actor but my character was an act. I won the game with a specific strategy. This time my act, my strategy to lure Joran with the prospect of becoming a millionaire at age 23 worked again.
The Dusseldorf interview
Joran totally broke down. He was so nervous, he puked his guts out in the toilet. As is very common in these kind of circumstances according to Y. We have 2,5 hours of rough uncut interview in which we talk about every small detail, including his father, the Kalpoe brothers etc etc. Joran even puts down a mark where he and X dropped the body. My trustworthy acquaintances left with the tapes. Joran and I remained alone in the room. Joran was emotional, smoking cigarette after cigarette, shaking. He told me he was going to wrap up all his affairs in Bangkok, Aruba and Holland and tell his parents the truth. In the meantime the Aruban authorities could solve the case and I could have the show edited and ready to sell all over the world. Then he would be ready for jail. He even wanted to sell the images when he would walk into the police office to turn himself in, it's sick, it's ethically very wrong, but it worked! We tricked him in telling the truth.
Trips to Bangkok
I asked Joran to put a more precise mark on a detailed satellite map so the search in Bubali lake would be much easier. I emailed Joran the map and asked for a spot. He emailed me back that the story was not true. Why did Joran change his mind? We could not believe it! Joran was going to jail anyway we were convinced at the time, so why would he break the contract and give up a huge sum of money?
We had 2 separate expeditions to Bangkok. We have strong information that Joran was/is heavily threatened. The only thing more valuable to Joran then money is his own live and that of his family. It was so serious that he refused to accept money for nothing more then a mark, he could even take the money and put a phony mark on the map. Something was wrong bigtime, Joran not taking money? Why? Joran fled. He mailed me that he didn't trust the situation. Why? Was Joran afraid 4 hidden police officers were waiting at the corner to arrest him? If the story is no true, why flee? The situation got worse. The crew and I were threatened to get shot by a crime syndicate who were protecting Joran. When a gun was pulled the crew left.
Science
Despite theories, science is objective. From the lie detector test we know: (95% reliable)
-Joran is involved in the death of Natalee
-Joran is involved in the disappearance of Natalee
The test has followed the official guidelines from the APA (American Polygraph Association) from a certified examiner (Z) and every minute was taped, so a checkup by an independent party is possible.
From the voice analysis we know: (80% reliable)
-the fall from the balcony is true
-X is involved
80% and 95% from machines are very reliable compared to the lies of Joran. Together with the total story how I got him to do the confession, there is no doubt in my mind that he spoke the truth.
Lies, reputations, and the media game
After months of investigations/stalling by the Aruban authorities, after months of trying to get Joran to do the right thing, RTL aired the show sunday 28-2-2010. At the moment Gerald Dompig left from Aruba to Holland to do his interview, the Dutch leading newspaper "De Telegraaf" secretly received information about the show on monday. We suspect the Aruban authorities tipped the paper and with great success. Their first strike strategy worked. Chief prosecutor Peter Blanken tells in the paper that the show which is coming is totally untrue. Leading figures as Peter R de Vries use the quotes of Blanken to make the upcoming show ridiculous. Unfortunately my reputation as "Terror Jaap" is dubious, and a crime reporter like De Vries has much more credibility. De Vries makes fun of me. Note that De Vries never asked me even 1 question about the results. Which I can understand, he has an Emmy and his reputation to protect with his investigation on Natalee. What would happen to that if it turns out that not Peter R de Vries but some fat guy from a reality program reveals the entire truth on what happened that night. The media machine is repeating Blanken and De Vries and Joran's confession is labelled as fake. American media repeats Dutch media, and so a carefully setup project to get Joran to tell the truth was carefully made redundant by tactics of parties who don't want to hear the truth because it conflicts with their interests.
X
How strange X never tried to clear his name? Also his father is a high ranking Brazilian government official with lots of influence. In 2005 the family X lived in the house. At the end of 2005 they left.
Follow up
The team is very frustrated. We all know we are very close to the truth, but we see no options. The Aruban authorities do nothing. Putting pressure on the authorities by using Dutch press is slammed down. What can we do? The only thing I can do is to tell my story and prove it with my massive database and video material to American media who takes it serious. A positive media flow could pressure Aruba to search in the Bubali lake.

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Empty Was Natalee Holloway the Victim of a Serial Killer?

Post by TomTerrific0420 Wed Jun 09, 2010 1:29 pm

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba 43747-29030
Twenty-three-year-old Joran van der Sloot is once
again under arrest, incarcerated, and has reportedly confessed to
murder. Not Natalee Holloway's murder. This time, a young Peruvian
woman, Stephany Flores, was found badly beaten with either a baseball
bat or tennis racket, her neck broken, covered in blood and a blanket,
dead in a Lima hotel room. The similarities in the circumstances to that
fatal night in Aruba are strikingly eerie and uncanny: The murder is
believed to have taken place exactly five years to the day that Natalee
Holloway disappeared in the wee hours of the morning after leaving a
nightclub with van der Sloot. The synchronistic fact that this
atrocious killing occurred on precisely the same date, May 30th, as the
Holloway incident, seems more than mere meaningless coincidence. Like
the still missing and presumed dead eighteen-year-old Natalee, van der
Sloot reportedly met the twenty-one-year-old Stephany at a casino at
night and was seen returning to his hotel room with her around 5 AM
Sunday morning. He was witnessed leaving the hotel room alone several
hours later with his bags. Three days later, on Tuesday, the victim's
lifeless body, fully clothed, face down, was found by hotel staff in his
room. Could Joran van der Sloot be more than merely a selfish, spoiled
kid who callously covered up the accidental death of an intoxicated
sexual partner? Could he actually be a predatory serial killer of two
young women, including Natalee Holloway? And might he have murdered more
women along the way?I have commented on this case in a previous post. At that time, there was no known
prior history of violence attributed to van der Sloot. Holloway's body
has never been recovered. No forensic evidence of homicide had, at least
to my knowledge, been found. Since then, Joran confessed publicly and
privately to several accidental versions of involvement in Holloway's
death, but almost immediately denied the veracity of his own statements.
His father, a judge in the Aruban legal system who may well have helped
his son illegally cover up Natalee's death, suddenly collapsed and died
while playing tennis last February. He was relatively young. Had the
chronic stress
of the Holloway case and his own possible illegal involvement taken its
fatal toll?Joran, while briefly re-arrested since Holloway's
disappearance, has been free to travel around the globe, and was
secretly videotaped recruiting young women in Thailand to work in the
Netherlands as prostitutes. In addition, he is recently charged with
attempting to sleezily extort 250,000 dollars from Natalee Holloway's
mother in return for telling her the location of her daughter's remains
and details of her death. Van der Sloot was in Lima participating in a
poker tournament. He apparently fancies himself a player. There are
recent reports that his alleged victim, Ms. Flores, won $5,000.00 that
evening at the casino, all of which was missing from the horrific crime
scene. Some sources suggest that the victim may have been slipped GHB or
Rohypnol, so-called "date rape" drugs--something the Holloway family
has long suspected happened to Natalee that night.Gradually, an
unmistakable, chilling and telling pattern appears to be emerging:
Prostitution. Gambling. Extortion. Willfully concealing a young American
woman's death. And quite conceivably, rape, robbery and multiple
murder. A pervasive disregard for and violation of the rights of others.
Repeated illegal activities. Deceitfulness. Skillful lying. Conning.
Physical aggressiveness. Sadistic cruelty. Irresponsibility.
Impulsivity. Grandiosity. Absence of empathy. Exploitation of others.
Apparent total lack of remorse for having hurt, mistreated or stolen
from someone. These possible symptoms and suspected evil deeds are all
classic indications of sociopathy, psychopathy,
dyssocial or antisocial personality disorder. Or what
might be more descriptively termed "psychopathic narcissism."Little
is known publicly about Joran's childhood and family history. He appears to
have grown up in a middle to upper middle class, well-to-do family, the
eldest of three sons. His father, Paulus, was a prominent lawyer. His
mother, Anita, a school teacher. However, there have been
unsubstantiated stories that in the year before meeting Natalee
Holloway, Joran, then perhaps sixteen, pushed a classmate through a
plate glass window, and was supposedly described by some who knew him as
having "anger
management"
problems. From a forensic perspective, it would be important to learn
whether the defendant did indeed have a history of physical aggression,
fighting or assaults prior to the alleged crime or crimes. If Joran van
der Sloot is the spoiled brat, the arrogant bully, the
self-centered, manipulative, narcissistic, misogynistic murderer many
make him out to be, and the killer he now admits to being, what might
have made him so? Is he an example of the proverbial "bad seed"? Evil
incarnate? Demonic possession? Or was his presumably privileged,
protected and permissive upbringing the primary root of his possible
psychopathic narcissism?Extremely negative, traumatic childhood
experiences are typically part of the classic psychopath's family
history. The severe childhood neglect, abandonment and abuse of Charles
Manson is one clear example. At this point, we have no way of knowing
what type of psychological environment young Joran was exposed to early
on, and have very limited information on the personalities and problems
of his parents
during that time. But we must remember, as Sigmund Freud
made clear, that during the most crucial phases of personality
development in childhood, profound damage or "fixation" can be done not
only by getting too little love, attention, gratification of needs, but
equally by receiving too much of these necessary positive influences.
Children naturally need love, affection, support, attention and
recognition. But they also need firm limit-setting, boundaries,
appropriate and consistent consequences for bad behavior, discipline,
and what developmental psychologists call "optimal frustration."
Optimal frustration
is how children learn to delay gratification,
persevere at tasks, develop inner strength and independence, and adapt
to what Freud referred to as the "reality principle."Children
must be taught by and learn from their parents or caretakers that the
world does not revolve around them, and that there are some behaviors
that are wrong and won't be tolerated. When a child does not receive
such an education
at home, he or she is ill-prepared to deal with the world at large. In
such cases, we see an unchecked infantile egoism or narcissism never
sufficiently socialized, and therefore, never moderated. Eventually,
their bad behavior accepted at home intensifies into evil deeds, landing
them in big trouble in the big world. It is quite possible that this
was the situation for Joran van der Sloot. He may have come from a home
where his healthy narcissistic needs were overindulged by his parents,
and hence, became unmitigated and pathological. Strange as it may seem,
such overindulgence, lack of discipline, and overprotectiveness on the
part of sometimes sincerely well-meaning parents can be as deeply
wounding and destructive as its polar opposite: neglect, abandonment,
abuse, deprivation. It is in itself a traumatizing type of deprivation
and abandonment in which the child's basic needs for structure,
guidance, limit-setting, consequences, reality testing, supervision and
parental authority are ignored, neglected and frustrated. In a sense,
the child feels that the overindulgent, overpermissive parent doesn't
care enough to provide the limit-setting and structure he or she needs.
And the child is at first hurt by, and then angered at this parental
failure and lack of responsibility. This anger, having no real outlet
(how can a child be angry with such ostensibly loving, nurturing and
indulgent parents?), tends to be repressed and fester, turning over time
into toxic resentment, embitterment and narcissistic rage. But the
psychopathic narcissist masks this rage masterfully in most situations. (
See my prior posts on "Masks of Sanity.")A sense of "narcissistic entitlement" is characteristic of both
narcissistic and antisocial personality disorder. And both
share in common a distinct lack of empathy with their fellow man, being
unwilling or unable to feel compassion toward, nor identify with, the
emotions and needs of others. Such grossly inhumane attitudes and
behaviors stem mainly from a combination of compensatory grandiosity and
a schizoid-like detachment from their own feelings. The primary
difference between narcissistic and antisocial personality disorder is
one of degree, differentiated largely by the relative strength or
weakness of what Freud
called superego, as well as by the severity, type or intensity of past
narcissistic wounding. The border between these two personality
disorders is blurry, and sometimes indistinguishable. Psychoanalyst Otto
Kernberg (1992) describes certain destructively aggressive, antisocial
patients as suffering from "malignant narcissism,"
which is akin to what I am here calling "psychopathic narcissism."
Traditionally, classic psychopaths are described as being
"cold-blooded." But how can the vicious brutality of beating a young
woman to death be construed as anything but an impassioned rage killing? Why the
totally excessive overkill? Joran told police that he killled Stephany
in anger when she snooped into his "private life" on his laptop. Had she
found incriminating evidence regarding the Holloway case? Did van der
Sloot kill Stephany to silence her? Another possible explanation for
such cases would be that the killer was trying to mutilate the body so
as to make post mortem identification difficult or impossible, clearly a
cold, deliberate calculation. "Jack the Ripper," who terrorized
nineteenth century London, mutilated his victims, female prostitutes not
to conceal their identity, but in
part as an expression of a suspected rabid hatred of women. His (or her)
identity was never finally determined, but one of the most likely
suspects was reportedly an American with a well-known animus toward the
feminine gender.
In a fairly recent sensational New Zealand murder case (see my prior post), a university tutor allegedly stabbed
his twenty-two-year-old ex-girlfriend more than two-hundred times,
severely mutilating her lips, breasts and genitals. Not to deliberately
disfigure the victim to allude prosecution. It was evidently all about
narcissistic rage. Was van der Sloot sexually rejected by Ms. Flores?
Did he fly into a violently narcissistic rage? A murderous adult temper
tantrum? Or was this possbily a robbery gone horribly wrong? As I
have suggested elsewhere (see my article "Violence as Secular Evil"), repressed
anger, rage, resentment and hatred are at the heart of psychopathic
narcissism as well as so many other serious and dangerous mental
disorders. So what might the confessed murderer Joran van der Sloot be
so enraged or embittered about? What do van der Sloot's reported
behaviors say about his feelings toward women? The extremely violent
nature of the alleged killing of Stephany Flores suggests that this was,
to some extent, a rage killing. Such vicious anger, rage and hatred
toward women is typically rooted in tremendous unconscious
hostility toward the mother, and a devaluation of the feminine in
general. For psychopathic narcissists, it may also have to do with women
being more vulnerable to victimizing with their sadistic, cruel,
hostile impulses, much as animals, insects or younger children tend to
play this victim role for severely troubled adolescents diagnosed with
Conduct Disorder-- often a prelude to adult psychopathy.
Indeed, in the case of a defendant like Joran van der Sloot, it would
not be surprising to find during forensic evaluation that, as a boy or
teenager, he at some point manifested many if not all of the symptoms of
Conduct Disorder.Ultimately, I believe that van der Sloot's
prosecution and incarceration in Peru will lead to a resolution of the
Natalee Holloway case. Given his past proclivity to make various
confessions regarding that case and then recant them, his confession to
Peruvian police remains suspect. While, as a forensic psychologist, I cannot diagnose this (or
any) defendant without first evaluating him, nor presume guilt, the
question comes down to this: Is Joran van der Sloot, as his defense
attorneys will likely argue, simply the unluckiest young man in the
world, finding himself once again innocently in the wrong place at the
wrong time? With a dead girl's body in his hotel room? On the fifth
anniversary of Natalee Holloway's probable death in his presence? And
then bullied by police into falsely confessing to this despicable evil
deed? If so, perhaps poker isn't really his game.

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Empty Re: NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba

Post by TomTerrific0420 Wed Jun 09, 2010 6:33 pm

In the five years since Alabama teen Natalee Holloway disappeared,
Tim Miller with Texas Equusearch has been on a mission. He has
been the face of just about every missing persons search in Houston.
Natalee's uncle lives in Houston and asked Miller for help.

Miller is in Aruba right now and tells us, "We've worked this case for 5 years
very, very hard... made a promise to Dave that we would never quit
looking for Natalee. My prediction is the day is going to come and it's
going to come soon when Natalee is going to be recovered."

Joran Van der Sloot has confessed to killing a woman in Peru. The 22-year-old
is also the main suspect in the disappearance of Holloway.

What upsets Tim is his belief that corrupt officials in Aruba helped cover
up what happened to the 18-year-old "They had Joran Van der Sloot
here less than a month ago on a sting operation and could have detained
him at that time, extradited him to America to serve 20 years on
extortion and again he slipped through their fingers."

The day the Dutchman was arrested for the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores,
he was charged here in the US with trying to extort a quarter of a
million dollars from Holloway's family. In exchange, he would
tell them where Natalee's body could be found and how she died.

Miller has a handwritten map. It is supposedly from Van der Sloot and shows
the location of Natalee's body. But, the founder of Texas
Equusearch does not believe the map is authentic. He thinks it's one of
many tools Van der Sloot used to extort money.

Miller says it's time for Van der Sloot to answer for his crime. "It's
unfortunate that Stephanie had to sacrifice her life to finally bring
Joran Van der Sloot to justice. It should have happened five years ago."

Dave Holloway, Natalee's father, is due in Aruba Wednesday. He
plans to meet with prosecutors and investigators. Miller tells us they
will then decide to proceed from there.

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Empty Re: NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba

Post by TomTerrific0420 Fri Jun 11, 2010 9:50 am

Joran van der Sloot told investigators during an interrogation that
he knows the location of Natalee Holloway's body, but he would neither
identify the location nor say what happened to her the night of her
disappearance, a Peruvian police official reported. "In the
interrogation done to the Dutch citizen, he says he knew the location of
the corpse of the American citizen, but that he was going to explain
everything to Aruban police," said Miguel Canlla, head of the homicide
division of the Peruvian national police investigative unit, on
Thursday. Van der Sloot, a 22-year-old Dutch citizen, is
suspected of killing a 21-year-old woman in Lima last month. Stephany
Flores Ramirez was found beaten to death in a hotel room registered in
van der Sloot's name. Van der Sloot was captured in Chile and returned
last week to Peru, where authorities say he confessed to killing Flores.
He was twice arrested in connection with the 2005 disappearance of
Holloway, but was released for lack of evidence. Holloway was on a class
trip to Aruba when she went missing. Canlla said Thursday that
Aruban police were not currently in Peru, and said he did not know
whether Aruban and Peruvian investigators had been in contact.Van der Sloot told authorities that he
attacked Flores on May 30 after she read an e-mail on his computer
connected with the Holloway case, Peruvian national police said in a
statement released Thursday. Canlla
defended his department's interrogation and said van der Sloot's
confession that he killed Flores was acquired legally. "The
statement was done within all the requirements stipulated by Peruvian
law," he said. But van der Sloot's lawyer, Maximo Alonso Altez
Navarro, said that he plans to ask the judge in the case to
strike down van der Sloot's confession, because he was not properly
represented when he was interrogated. Canlla said Peruvian
investigators were still waiting for judicial permission in order to
investigate the contents of van der Sloot's computer. "There has
to be authorization from the judge to open the laptop," he said. But
already authorities have gathered significant evidence, Canlla said.
Blood stains found on van der Sloot's clothes match Flores' blood
type, he said. "We found blood stains on the victim's clothes,
and we found blood stains on his clothes, which, according to biological
testing, they correspond to the victim," he said. Police said in
a statement Thursday that van der Sloot presumably attacked Flores to
rob her of the money she had won gambling at a casino. The two met
playing poker on May 27 and had several encounters before driving
together to the hotel where van der Sloot was staying on May 30. After
killing her, the police statement said, van der Sloot cleaned the room
in an attempt to hide evidence of the crime, changed clothes and fled
with Flores' money, bank cards and black Jeep. Police said
evidence against van der Sloot includes his confession, forensic data,
surveillance videos and fingerprints lifted from the crime scene and
Flores' Jeep. Altez, van der Sloot's lawyer, claims he has found
indications that the handling of the evidence was tainted, especially
the way the body was handled during the crime scene investigation. But
Canlla said there were no irregularities in the investigation. Van
der Sloot, 22, was arrested in Chile on June 4 and returned to Peru the
next day. Canlla said police will likely accuse van der Sloot of
committing homicide, robbery and obstructing justice. The two drivers
who took him across the border to Chile will also be accused of
obstructing justice, he said. While van der Sloot was never
charged in connection with Holloway's disappearance in 2005, U.S.
authorities filed extortion and wire fraud charges against the Dutch man
this week. An Interpol document says van der Sloot faces
criminal charges in Alabama because he allegedly tried to extort money
from Holloway's mother. A federal law enforcement agent claims
that a representative for Natalee Holloway's mother who paid $25,000
for information on the whereabouts of her daughter's remains last month
was an undercover FBI agent. Van der Sloot said he would reveal
the location of the body and the circumstances surrounding Holloway's
death for $25,000 in cash and asked for $250,000 in total, the document
states. The FBI and U.S. Attorney's office in Birmingham arranged
for a meeting where van der Sloot was paid $10,000 in cash and another
$15,000 in a wire transfer, a source familiar with the case said. The
meeting took place last month, according to the U.S. attorney's office
in Birmingham. Interpol documents show that the $15,000 was
transferred to a personal bank account in the Netherlands. It's
unclear whether that money paid for van der Sloot's trip to Colombia and
to Peru.
In exchange for the money, van der
Sloot showed the representative a house where supposedly Holloway's
remains were, according to the document. When records showed that the
house had not yet been built at the time of her disappearance, van der
Sloot admitted that he lied, Interpol said.

NATALEE HOLLOWAY - 19 yo (2005) - Mountain Brook AL/Aruba Empty ONE “NOT SO” HAPPY ISLAND - Steph Watts

MAKING NEWS AND BREAKING NEWS

ONE “NOT SO” HAPPY ISLAND

June 15, 2010 – 5:57 am

As we all await the confession from Joran Van Der Sloot as to what he did with Natalee’s body, the focus of the Natalee Holloway case has shifted the eyes of the world back onto the island of Aruba. Much to the dismay of the islanders, in particular Aruban authorities.

As I write this, Dave Holloway is meeting with officials, I can’t be specific as to who. But, before he left this morning, he asked me if we could go to the place on the map that Joran drew, indicating where he now claims he put Natalee’s body. This hand drawn map I received from Joran’s friend Jaap, right before his house was raided in the Netherlands, is the last and the latest tale from Joran Van Der Sloot as to where he put Natalee’s body. How serious are authorities taking this map??? Or do they believe this is just another one of Van Der Sloot’s lies. A wild goose chase??? Whatever the case, Dave Holloway feels it has to be looked at — and wanted to do it himself.

So off we went to the location early this a.m. Dave really just wanted to get a feel for the place, perhaps a sense of whether or not his daughter’s body was there, and to see if this location could fit into his timeline of events. He wasn’t expecting to find an answer today — and we weren’t expecting to be followed.

When we arrived, I watched as Dave just stared into the location for a few minutes, and in his deep voice he theorized what could have happened, based on the latest information from the map. Then a car pulled up, which was odd, an islander, in a silver jeep. Dave and I were getting ready to leave to grab some batteries and some breakfast. This man approached us but didn’t say a word. Without revealing too much about the location — it took him an effort to get to us — so it was no coincidence he was there. As we walked to the car, Dave said “he’s following us.” I thought at first Dave was being paranoid, a distraught father looking for his daughter’s remains, one could only imagine — it would make the strongest of us cross over the edge. As we got into the car, he starred long and hard at us. In retrospect, I should have asked him what he wanted, but I’ve learned to avoid confrontation, especially in a foreign country, and I sensed Dave’s urgency in wanting to get going. We got in our car and drove off, minutes later I saw his car in the rear view mirror. I turned right, he turned right, I stopped and spun around…he did the same. Now I realized Dave was telling the truth —we were being followed. After a few crafty moves under the stern guidance of Dave Holloway, we managed to elude our island friend. I’ll go on the record and say that if I hadn’t seen it myself I would never believed him.

I have no idea who he was/who he worked for or why he was following us or what he wanted. Dave says it to intimidate him, and it’s happened before. I don’t understand this. Why be mad at the father of the girl who was murdered on your island. Why not be mad at the guy who murdered his daugther instead?? Dave is not here to trash Aruba, or hold a press conference asking for a boycott. He doesn’t care. He wants one thing — his daughter’s body to take her home.

ARUBA…JUST THE FACTS MA’AM

June 16, 2010 – 1:46 pm

Just a short quick note to respond to all the emails I got about information put out on cable news tonight. Thank you for all your emails, but remember I am in Aruba — so stick with your source on the ground.

Dave left the island earlier today.

Authorities are not searching the island and have NO plans to search the island. Searchers are NOT mobilized.

There is no authorized searches to happen on the island.

There is NO scheduled searches happening on the island.

Authorities WILL NOT search until they receive information (a confession) from Joran Van Der Sloot that they deem credible — repeat — credible.

Just because Joran Van Der Sloot says he will only talk to Aruban authorities doesn’t mean that he will get the opportunity to talk to Aruban authorities. Joran Van Der Sloot is in a Peruvian jail and no longer calls the shots.

According to family members of Stephany Flores in Peru, it will only be a matter of time before authorities in Peru have the answers from Joran as to what happened to Natalee.
