Tampa, Florida -- A Florida MISSING CHILD Alert has been issued for a 9-year-old boy from Live Oak, Florida.

Leo Walker was last seen in the 700 block of Duval Street in Live Oak, wearing blue shorts, a blue t-shirt, and no shoes.

Walker is described as:

A white male, 9 years old
4 feet 7 inches tall, 87 pounds
Light brown hair, blue eyes

Missing child: Police searching for 9-year-old autistic boy

Live Oak — The Live Oak Police Department is searching for Leo Walker, 9, who went missing this morning around 4 a.m. He was last seen around the 700 block of East Duval Street.

According to LOPD Sergeant Justin Bates, Walker has blonde hair, blue eyes, and was wearing blue shorts. He is 4'7" and weighs 87 pounds.

Walker is autistic. Local officials said Walker had left the house one time before, but he was discovered quickly about a block from his home.

LIVE OAK, Fla. -- A body found during the search for a missing 9-year-old autistic boy has been identified as Leo Walker, authorities said Sunday.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement cancelled a missing child alert for Walker after an autopsy confirmed the boy's identity, FDLE told First Coast News.

Live Oak Police said they found a body in a pond near the area where volunteers and law enforcement were searching for Walker.

The pond where the body of a child was recovered is located less than a half a mile from the missing boy's home. It is not the pond police began to pump on Thursday.

The body of a juvenile was found in a lake Friday during the search for a missing autistic boy.

Chief Williams would not say who discovered the body around 10 a.m. Friday. The swamp like water is behind homes on Anna Avenue and has street access on McGee street. Neighbors say it's not safe.

"It holds a lot of water back there. They don't have a fence or nothing around it, they need to fence it in," said Eugene Ivey, a local resident.

The police chief said it is obviously a case of accidental drowning.  Wonder how they determined that. 

There will be no criminal investigation, the case is closed.

I'm such a skeptic after so many children are abused, tortured and murdered these days.
