Caylee's Poems for Grandpa
I've never seen anything so beautiful in my years of less than three
The world all aglow with twinkling lights upon every Christmas tree
High above the universe upon angel's wings I flew peacefully about
All the pretty bursts of lights rose above as fireworks popped out
I saw a man in red and white with strange puppies flying high in the air
From house to house he traveled all night dropping presents here and there
He flew past me in his haste to scatter toys to all the children below
I followed him on a small shooting star to help guide him with a glow
In one little house that seemed familiar to me, there were no lights on inside
I floated down quietly to get a closer look and on a chair there Grandpa cried
In his hands was a small picture that he kissed ever so soft and gently
When my wings lightly brushed up against him he whispered "I miss you Caylee"
On his forehead I placed both hands and hummed a very special tune
My wings fluttered just a little bit and with love Grandpa was consumed
On his face appeared a warm smile no longer sad with anger and grief
He went to my old room and on my door he placed a small Christmas wreath
I left my Grandpa for the last time standing by my old bedroom door
I sat upon his shoulder strong and whispered "Grandpa, cry no more"
He must have felt the comfort and warmth from my little angel wings
Grandpa looked over his shoulder and said "I know my little Caylee still sings"
The world all aglow with twinkling lights upon every Christmas tree
High above the universe upon angel's wings I flew peacefully about
All the pretty bursts of lights rose above as fireworks popped out
