Sexual abuse of 2 young girls - Accused: Melissa Perri and Cindy Frederick - Scranton PA

A second woman is in custody for the alleged sexual abuse of two young girls.
Melissa Perri, 19, touched the children and performed oral sex on
them, participating in the abuse with 30-year-old Cindy Frederick,
Scranton police said. Ms. Perri was arrested Thursday at a city
residence where she was staying, two days after Ms. Frederick was jailed.

Both women lived in Scranton when the abuse happened in the fall,
though Ms. Perri was described as a transient who moved from house to
house, according to Detective Jennifer Gerrity. They met within the past
year, when Ms. Perri stayed with Ms. Frederick.
Ms. Perri was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse
with a child, indecent assault and related offenses. She was held at the
Lackawanna County Prison on $20,000 bail.
With assistance from the U.S. marshals, city police arrested her without incident in North Scranton.
According to an affidavit by Detective Gerrity:
The girls were in Ms. Frederick's care, and at least once she slept
with an 8-year-old and watched pornographic movies with her. When she
touched the girls, Ms. Frederick told them it was called "the kissing game."
The mother of the younger girl, then 3, discovered the abuse in
October when she caught her daughter's 8-year-old friend performing oral sex on her.
The girls told the mother that was how Ms. Frederick touched them.
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of alleged sexual assault.
Both Ms. Perri and Ms. Frederick told police they had been manipulated into touching the girls by the other woman.
Ms. Frederick also was charged with terroristic threats. After being
questioned by police, she left a voice mail for Detective Gerrity,
saying Ms. Perri had called her a "baby raper" on Facebook and
threatening to harm Ms. Perri if the authorities did not "take care" of
her first, according to police.
Ms. Frederick remains jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail.
