Re: ANGEL MARIE LEVERENZ - 18 yo - Evans (Lake Erie shore; SW of Buffalo) NY
Area #1 looking North this time. There's a path up to the next bridge area. Though it says "No Dumping"
there was everything from discarded mattresses to old backyard playground equipment.
Likely this is the path that was taken to get up to the train bridge over the creek.
I walked all the way up to the tracks but was not prepared with equipment to go any further.

This is that "No Dumping" path that, as you can see, leads up to the train tracks which cross over the
area in which the body was located.

This is parking area #2 where I encountered the fishermen who located the body.
One of their trucks is on the right hand side of the pic.
This is before the second fisherman arrived.

Re: ANGEL MARIE LEVERENZ - 18 yo - Evans (Lake Erie shore; SW of Buffalo) NY
The area across from where the fishermen were parked. I am just on the north shoulder of the road.
I get out to take pics and notice a black bag just the north side of the guard rail.
At first it seemed like a recently placed backpack.
Using my snowbrush to avoid contaminating the evidence I lifted it by the handles and draped it
across the guardrail. It was without any identifiers and turned out to be a fabric guitar bag.
It had some wear and tear so maybe somebody just tossed it. Left it on the guardrail in case it was of any significance.
The area to the upper right was the area that fishermen started out in. It would seem that would lead down to the
banks of the creek, near the train overpass, where the body was discovered.

Re: ANGEL MARIE LEVERENZ - 18 yo - Evans (Lake Erie shore; SW of Buffalo) NY
The body of an Angola teenager missing for more than a week was
discovered by three fishermen Friday morning in a wooded area not far
from the CSX railroad tracks and Eighteen Mile Creek, Evans police said.
Angel Marie Leverenz, 18, was last seen on March 22 and reported
missing by family members two days later, prompting area law
enforcement and volunteer firefighters to conduct an immediate and
exhaustive air, ground and water search that lasted several days. “It
is with great sadness to report that we found Angel,” said Evans Police
Chief Ernest P. Masullo. “At 10:37 a. m., we received a call from some
fishermen that they had found a body in the general area. It was
confirmed to be Angel Leverenz.” Masullo said Leverenz was found
in a wooded area near a railroad trestle not far from Eighteen Mile
Creek, where searchers spent several days last week looking for her. He
said police would not disclose her exact location to preserve the scene for investigative purposes. Police
were not speculating on the manner or cause of Leverenz’s death.
Previously, Evans police said foul play was not suspected. Masullo
added late Friday that there was “no crime scene,” but stressed the
cause of death remained to be determined. An autopsy and toxicology
tests were scheduled for today by the Erie County Medical Examiner. Leverenz,
according to reports, told family members she was going out with
friends prior to her disappearance. Her Honda was found March 24 by
police on South Creek Road just hours after she was reported missing.
The keys were still in the ignition and her identification was inside
the vehicle, authorities said. The massive search involved
several agencies. A day later, personal effects were found around the
creek and divers followed the creek to Lake Erie, but to no avail. The
search was officially suspended last Saturday. “We were still
hoping Angel would call us saying, ‘I’m in Florida,’ or something like
that,” said Masullo, noting that she was the niece of an officer in the
department. “We’re just sick about this,” the chief said. State
police, Erie County sheriff’s deputies, state Environmental
Conservation officers and Forest Rangers along with Hamburg and Buffalo
police, firefighters from Evans and Hamburg and Angola Control
fire/police assisted in the search, which was led by Evans Police Capt.
Charles Danzi and Lt. Thomas George. Leverenz, who previously
attended Immaculata Academy in Hamburg, where she was an honor student,
was a senior at Lakeshore High School. George, who is a Lakeshore
Schools resource officer for Evans police, said school officials
offered counseling for students and staffers last Monday after
authorities suspended the search and also plan similar sessions this
Monday.

The complete obituary
Angel M. Leverenz, active volunteer, honor student
Sept. 19, 1992—April 1, 2011
At age 12, Angel M. Leverenz lost her mother to cancer. So,
besides being an A student, working and volunteering in her spare time,
she was counted on to help keep the family’s house together. “Angel
took care of her brothers and her dad and ran a household and went to school,”
said her aunt, Carol Ann Czora. “She was a teenager with a lot
of responsibilities.” The young woman’s body was discovered by
fishermen Friday in a wooded area near a railroad trestle, not far from
Eighteen Mile Creek. She was 18. Ms. Leverenz was seen last March 22,
and family members reported her missing two days later. Police
in Evans who searched for the young woman for days say they do not suspect foul play.
An autopsy was performed Saturday, but results were not yet available.
Police said the investigation into her death was
continuing. Born in Buffalo and raised in Angola, Ms. Leverenz
was an A student as a senior at Lake Shore High School, where she had
transferred the previous school year from Immaculata Academy in Hamburg.
“She was an excellent student,” Superintendent James E. Przepasniak said.
“She took AP classes [and was] a friend of many. She
will be terribly missed.” Ms. Leverenz was active in the Fire
Explorer Program with the Angola Fire Department
for a few years and enjoyed volunteering with Habitat for Humanity,
her aunt said. She worked at the Jubilee supermarket in Angola,
where she saved up enough money to buy a car.
Ms. Leverenz also enjoyed collecting angels of all kinds— necklaces, ornaments and knickknacks.
“She was just a real sweetheart— very unassuming, a very good friend to a lot of people,
a good listener,” her aunt said. “She definitely got that
from her mom, that’s for sure.” Her mother, Michele, died in 2004.
Survivors include her father, George; two brothers, Jacob Safe and Dylan; and her grandmother, Anne Safe.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Southtowns Christian Center, 6619 Southwestern Blvd., Lake View.

---You are confused. The body was found on the ground below the tracks. One theory is that she walked out there alone and jumped. That's not what I feel. She died of hypothermia, complicated by injuries from the fall. Unless both legs were broken I would think her innate need to survive would have found a way to get to safety. Freezing to death is not pleasant.Wasn't she above the train tracks? I may be misunderstanding.

I have really tried analyzing this. RE: The Dutch Act: It really wouldn't be remorse over her Mom's passing, that was years ago.
Though being the only female in a house of three men was probably difficult.
What would've/could've happened between then and now to bring her to this desperate act?
Was she under treatment? Was she taking the meds that may have been prescribed?
As I have mentioned earlier in the topic... she was Senior in HS and this is the most "critical" time of the year for them.
Exams, Prom Dates, Graduation, Parties, Picnics, Dresses, Up-Do's... it's all right now.
On the other hand, as emotions run high this season, so can tempers.
Who was she involved with? There has been no statement at all from the Dad (or the family, at all).
I cannot see (from this angle) anything out of the ordinary in her background.
She was Habitat volunteer, an exemplary student and appeared to be well-grounded.
Inquiring minds want to know...

What I just thought of was, where was her body when the search was so intense? If there were as many searchers out as stated then I would think the area she was found in would've been searched previously. Hmmm.....inquiring minds want to know.
I pray she's at peace now. It sounds like she's had a very heavy load to carry since her mother has passed, wondering how much help her father & other family members were. I think the end of senior high school year is a very emotional & stressful one for any kid but, for a kid with this much responsibility it would be a virtual nightmare.

Re: ANGEL MARIE LEVERENZ - 18 yo - Evans (Lake Erie shore; SW of Buffalo) NY
Angel Leverenz was beautiful, fun-loving and kind. She and a friend, not having sleds, once took laundry baskets and slid down snow-covered sand dunes on the Lake Erie Beach.A day after she registered at Lake Shore Senior High School, she stopped by the guidance office."She
came and brought me a doughnut from Tim Horton's with a smile on her
face," Guidance Counselor Steve Brown said. "And that's what Angel was
all about. She had a beautiful smile."Angel's classmates at Lake Shore remembered the 18-year-old Monday night in a candlelight vigil outside the high school.Fishermen
found Angel's body April 1 in a wooded area in the Town of Evans. The
young woman, who had been missing more than a week, died from
hypothermia, with complications from injuries suffered in a fall,
authorities said.More than 100 students, friends and family gathered to pay tribute to the young woman who was a best friend to many.Colleen
McKillen remembered meeting Angel in kindergarten and first grade, and
becoming friends after eating lunch together. They never hung out after
school, but remained close friends, she said."She was always happy," McKillen said, her voice breaking with emotion. "She always made everyone else happy."Angel's
mother, Michelle, died from cancer in 2004. Angel, an A student, took
care of her brothers and father, and worked at Jubilee Market in Angola.
She attended Immaculata Academy before transferring to Lake Shore for
her senior year, reuniting her with several friends from grammar school. She
was active in the Fire Explorer Program with the Angola Fire
Department, and firefighters came with a truck Monday to pay their
respects.Angel also was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.Dennis Adey met her in eighth grade, and she was one of his best friends, he said."I
remember all the laughs we had in Spanish class, when I'd have to do
her homework for her because she couldn't do it," he recalled. Then when she returned this school year, the good times continued."I got to know her again," he said. "We had so many laughs in Spanish and geography. I'd have to do her homework again."Several said that Angel's name fit her well, but all said they will miss her."It's going to be hard knowing I can't hear her laugh again," Adey said. One neighbor said Angel always said hello to her, and helped her catch her dog when it got loose."No
matter what the reasons, she's gone," the neighbor said, encouraging
teens to seek help if they are having trouble dealing with problems. "It
only takes 60 seconds to ask for help."Students are dealing with the loss as best they can, and it was students who organized the vigil Monday."There's
always a sense of sadness, trying to understand what happened and how
it happened," Brown said. "We will never know those answers, and that's

came and brought me a doughnut from Tim Horton's with a smile on her
face," Guidance Counselor Steve Brown said.
"We will never know those answers, and that's
what's hard. I think coming together they can find strength in that."
