NASHVILLE, Tenn.
- A Nashville teen went missing on Monday. Just 24 hours later, the
family of 18-year-old Kendrya Davis received a haunting phone call that
prompted police to search for her body.
Kendrya Davis' sister got a phone call
Tuesday night in which the caller said that Kendrya was shot and killed
and that her body is in an abandoned house somewhere in North Nashville.
The phone call prompted police search the
area near 25th and Herman Street, scouring through abandoned homes
potentially looking for the missing teen's body.
Her mother is holding strong that her
daughter might still be alive. She hopes the people that know where
Kendrya is will tell her or police soon.
"Just call and let us know where she is if
she is shot or whatever, just let us know. We want her body, we just
want Kendrya," said Beverly Sutton.
Davis was last seen at the downtown bus depot on Monday night where she was meeting a friend.
Her mom received a text that Kendrya was
headed to her brother's house in South Nashville, but she never showed
up. That was the last time her phone was used or that anyone has seen or
heard from her.
Family Fears Missing 18-Year-Old Has Met Foul Play
Now, her mother is forced to wait for police to tell her the fate of her daughter.
"It's very hard because I don't want they are
going to tell me it's possible. They are going to tell me that my child
is dead, it's very hard," Sutton added.
On Thursday night, the family is going to be
putting up fliers in North Nashville and going door to door to asking
anyone if they have seen Kendrya or have any information about her
whereabouts.
Police said they do have a person of interest in this case, but are not yet releasing his name.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME or the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.

Police Looking For Ex-Boyfriend In Missing Teen Case
Friday, April 1, 2011 7:27 PM EST
Jose Hall
Kendrya Davis
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police are asking for help locating the ex-boyfriend of a missing teen.
Police are looking for 19-year-old Jose
Lemanuel Hall. Police said he is the ex-boyfriend of 18-year-old Kendrya
Davis, who has been missing since Monday.
Police said Davis got into a fight with Hall
on Monday, and then went to meet a friend at Music City Central. She
texted her mother to let her know she was going to her brother's house
in South Nashville but she never made it there.
Police said they have spoken to Hall on the phone, but said he refuses to tell them where he is or meet them face to face.
Hall is also now wanted for failure to appear
in court for not showing up to answer a misdemeanor trespassing charge
in Davidson County General Sessions Court yesterday.
Police said it is possible that Hall, who is suspected to have gang ties, has fled to a surrounding county.
Davis' family received an anonymous call on
Tuesday night saying that Kendrya had been shot and killed and her body
was in an abandoned house in North Nashville. Police have been searching
the area, but so far have not found anything.
Anyone seeing Jose Hall or knowing his
whereabouts is urged to immediately contact the Emergency Communications

Police Charge Ex-Boyfriend With Murder Of Missing Teen
Apr 14, 2011 9:45 AM
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police have charged the ex-boyfriend of a missing teenager found dead last month in North Nashville with her murder.
19-year-old Jose Hall is charged with the
murder of 18-year-old Kendrya Davis. Davis went missing on March 30, and
her body was found in an abandoned home less than a week later.
Hall was Davis' ex-boyfriend, and also
believed to have gang ties. Police said Davis and Hall had fought the
day she went missing, and returned home with a black eye. She later left
again, presumably to meet Hall, and never returned.
The day after Kendrya went missing, her
family received an anonymous phone call saying that Kendrya had been
shot and left in an abandoned house in North Nashville. Her body was
found on April 3 inside a home on Cass Street.
Police said the home is within eyesight of Hall's current girlfriend's residence.
Police said she suffered from multiple gunshot and stab wounds, as well as blunt force trauma.
Witnesses told police that Hall admitted to
killing Davis. Police also learned that Hall had a small caliber
revolver prior to and after Davis' disappearance, and that he made
incriminating statements regarding the discovery of Davis' body and the
destruction/concealment of evidence.
Hall was a person of interest in the case,
and turned himself in to police on unrelated charges on April 3. Police
said he had not been cooperating with their investigation.

Re: KENDRYA DAVIS - 18 yo (4/2011)/ Charged: Jose Hall - Nashville TN
NASHVILLE, Tenn.
– The case against a teenager accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend
and leaving her body in an abandoned house has been bound over to the
grand jury.
Jose Hall was in court on Thursday for a
preliminary hearing. He is charged with criminal homicide in connection
with 18-year-old Kendrya Davis' murder.
Davis' body was found in an abandoned house on Cass Street less than a week after she was reported missing by her family.
A police detective testified about the investigation.
The defense attorney questioned him about the
physical evidence that ties Hall to the crime scene. The detective
said there isn't any right now, because those test results are pending.
But he said he believes there is incriminating evidence against Hall.
"He told me that you (Hall's lawyer) had to
tell him where the house was, what address it was, that he had never
been there. We know for a fact that that's not true," said the
detective.
The detective went on to say that abandoned
house where Kendrya's body was found was a "chill house" where teens
went to hang out.
The Metro detective also told the court Hall
told him he hit Davis at the downtown bus terminal on the night she was
last seen, and other witnesses saw them together.
