NICHOLAS JERMIAH NOWLIN - 9 Months - Winston-Salem NC
Winston-Salem Police responded to a report of a child being
transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center who was suspected of
being abused. The nine-month-old infant was brought to the medical
center with life threatening injuries Friday night.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the infant, who
was initially in critical condition, had suffered severe injuries as a
result of head trauma.
Saturday at approximately 4:30 p.m., the nine-month-old infant died at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the exact cause of death pending an autopsy.
Detectives have not released the identity of the infant because it is an ongoing investigation.
