There has been no news of the young Alma teen since February 2009. While he was supposed to take the bus to get to school, David suddenly disappeared.
It seems he was being bullied at school.

February 10, 2009

The 14 year old boy left home around 7:50 on his way to Camille-Lavoie School in Alma, but he never reach his destination.
At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a red jacket with the inscription Polaris on the back, blue jeans, a black fleece with hood, tan sneakers, red winter gloves and gray hat.
He is 5 feet 7 inches, weighs 165 pounds, has brown hair and eyes.

February 25, 2009

A mother and daughter say they have spotted the teenager on a busy street, in the Saguenay. In their, the teenager was hitchhiking. They reported this information to the Sûreté du Québec. After verification, the young hitchhiker is identified: it is not David Fortin.

December 4, 2009

A boy that the SQ believed to be David Fortin is glimpsed at the Bell Centre during a Montreal Canadiens game. The teenager is also captured in a television interview by CTV. However, after verification, it was a red herring.

February 11, 2010

Interviewed on the show The Real Negotiator, truck driver Claude Poirier claimed he saw the teenager on 1 February in the Winnipeg area. He said the teenager was looking for a way back to Montreal. The driver said that the young man wore a yellow coat which looked new, and he seemed fine.

December 6, 2010

At the request of police, Jeunesse au Soleil has renewed the reward offered in exchange for information on the disappearance of David Fortin. Investigators believe that new information can still be routed to them. The reward of up to $ 10,000, will expire on June 11, 2011.

Two years after he vanished, seemingly into thin air, police are no
closer to finding out what happened to 14-year-old David Fortin.To
mark the second anniversary of the teen's disappearance, the Missing
Children's Network has released a new age-progressed photo of David
produced by the RCMP in hopes that someone will recognize him and
contact authorities.

"The Missing Children's Network urges all
those who have pertinent information concerning David's whereabouts to
please come forward and help put an end to the unbearable grief that
this family had been living," said a release accompanying the photo.On
Feb. 10, 2009, David was to catch a bus to take him to his classes in
Alma, in the Saguenay Lac St. Jean region. He walked out the door that
morning dressed in jeans and a red and black jacket, carrying his
backpack. He never arrived at the bus stop, and hasn’t been seen since.In
the days, weeks and months following his disappearance, David's family
pleaded with the public for help in locating him. Sun Youth offered a
$10,000 reward for information that might shed some light on what may
have happened to the missing teen. There were reported sightings
everywhere from the Berri métro station in Montreal to a lonely stretch
of Highway 155 between the Lac St. Jean region and Trois Rivieres. None
of the sightings panned out, and two years later, David's whereabouts

David Fortin, Missing Quebec Teen, May Have Been Spotted In Richmond, B.C. Supermarket

MONTREAL - The RCMP says a Quebec teenager who has been missing for three years may have been spotted in British Columbia.
The Mounties say they received a tip that David Fortin was seen playing a guitar in a Richmond supermarket in late January.
Fortin was 14 when he disappeared from the Quebec town of Alma in February 2009.
He left home in the morning to catch his school bus but he never made it.
Quebec provincial police say nothing has come so far of their investigation into the British Columbia tip.
