Norfolk police seeks missing child

NORFOLK—
Norfolk police are looking for a young boy that went missing on May 11, 2011.

Jervon Jones-Dixon is a 10-year-old black male. He is described as 4'3
and 80 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown and gold striped shirt,
black running pants with a gold stripe on the side.
Police say Jervon was last seen around 5:00p.m yesterday in the 3500
block of Dunkirk Avenue on his way to a Food Lion near his residence,
and he is also known to hang out in the Shoop Park Area.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jervon
Jones-Dixon is asked to call Norfolk Police at 757-664-7033.

Missing boy found safe in Va. Beach

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A boy who went missing on Wednesday was found in Virginia Beach. Police
said 10-year-old Jervon Jones-Dixon was last seen at 5 p.m. Wednesday
in the 3500 block of Dunkirk Avenue on his way to a Food Lion near his
home. "It was the longest 24 hours of my life," said father Jervon Jones. The family said he caught the bus to see his old friends. "A lot of stuff he do really don't surprise me," Jones added. "Kids these days are a lot smarter than I was when I was 10." Jones-Dixon's father found him in the College Park neighborhood where they used to live. "I
thank God that he returned him home safely," Jones said. "We will just
work on trying to get a better communication the next time something
like that happens." Investigators said Jones-Dixon ran away to a friend's house because he thought he was in trouble for something.
