ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- It's the biggest trial in Central Florida history and opening statements will begin Tuesday in Casey Anthony's murder trial, nearly three years after her daughter Caylee was killed.

Some of the biggest questions about this unprecedented case could be answered in the first few hours.

WFTV’s legal expert Bill Shaeffer said the defense needs to start poking holes in the state's case immediately.

In opening statements, both sides of the case will lay out an outline of what jurors can expect over the next six to eight weeks.

“I think it's gonna be a pretty dramatic opening for the state,” said Shaeffer.

He said Tuesday will be one of the most revealing days of the entire case, as both sides present the jury with their version of events surrounding the death of Caylee Anthony.

“I imagine that the state is gonna want to put a face on little Caylee. They will show those darling pictures of her,” said Shaeffer.
