BLOOMINGTON, Ind. --
Volunteers have resumed searching for a 20-year-old Indiana University
student three days after police say she was last seen walking alone back
to her Bloomington apartment.

yesterday in checking out spots around the city and the surrounding
countryside. Police say surveillance video shows Spierer didn't arrive
at her apartment building after leaving her friends after a party a few
blocks away about 4:30 a.m. Friday.

A missing Indiana University student may have been the victim of foul play, a police investigator said Tuesday.
Lt. Bill Parker told the news media police in Bloomington, Ind., have
no leads on what happened to Lauren Spierer, WISH-TV reported. The
20-year-old co-ed from Westchester County,. N.Y., was last seen early
Friday when she left a friend's apartment.
"When somebody at 4:30 in the morning, no shoes and has earlier been
drinking, goes out and just disappears off a street corner -- we feel
like it certainly could be foul play involved," Parker said. "At this
point we don't have a revelation, we don't have breaking news, so we're
still inviting tips, and we're inviting information."
Investigators have been able to track Spierer's movements through
Thursday evening and into Friday morning, Parker said. She left her
shoes and cellphone at a bar and apparently lost her keys and a purse in
between her apartment and an apartment complex where her friends lived,
The Times-Herald of Bloomington reported.
Parker urged the hundreds of volunteers who have been looking for
Spierer to continue. He said a police sergeant has been assigned to
coordinate the search parties.

Bloomington police used a battering ram Tuesday night to break into a
room located in the apartment building where Lauren Spierer lived. Spierer,
a 20-year-old Indiana University sophomore, was last seen early Friday
morning as she left a friend's apartment and started walking home. Her
disappearance has sparked a massive search and social media efforts to
find her. According to CBS affiliate WISH,
police were serving a search warrant at Smallwood Plaza apartments.
Once inside, authorities removed three computer hard drives from the
apartment complex's security room, but would not say why. Police could
not get someone from the apartment complex to let them into the room. Police have interviewed Lauren's friends and say they fully cooperated with the investigation. Investigators say they have few leads and no suspects but believe foul play is to blame. Her parents made an emotional plea Tuesday for continued help and information. "There's
a lot more that we have to do until we find Lauren. We beg you if you
can help us with the search that you continue to join us every day," her
father Robert said. "We ask that if anyone saw Lauren on Thursday,
Thursday night with anyone, please share that information with the
Bloomington Police."

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay announced Wednesday he is
offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to missing
Indiana University student Lauren Spierer. "Offering $10,000
reward for serious info that SOLVES Lauren's Missing Persons. Contact
Bloomy Police!!!!!" Irsay tweeted Wednesday -- shortly after Bloomington
police said they had no new developments in the case since the
sophomore was reported missing six days ago. "We don't have a
revelation today or any big breaking news, I wish we did," Lt. Bill
Parker, of the Bloomington Police Department, said at a press
conference. Spierer, 20, was last seen walking alone barefoot
from a friend's Bloomington, Ind., apartment at around 4:30am local time
Friday after a night of partying at a local bar. Bloomington
police have interviewed several "persons of interest," including her
boyfriend -- a fellow student at Indiana University, who saw Spierer in
the hours before her disappearance but investigators still have no
suspects. "We've been interviewing everybody that was with her,"
Parker said earlier this week. "They've cooperated fully with letting us
search their places, their cars." Police did face a four day
delay in obtaining security footage from the apartment complex where
Spierer was last spotted. The security company refused to provide the
video without a search warrant, which police provided late Tuesday
evening. But the footage failed to provide any new information,
as volunteers continue searching for the missing coed. The searches so
far have covered the town of Bloomington but are now set to go beyond
the city limits. Spierer's father, Robert, thanked the volunteers
that have flooded to the college town to assist in the efforts to find
his daughter. "I could go on and on thanking people, it's something we need to keep up," he said at Wednesday's briefing. "We're
not going to stop, this will be an everyday thing. I will be here. We
will do whatever we have to do to find Lauren and bring her home," he
added. Volunteers have launched a massive effort to search for
Spierer and even celebrities such as Denise Richards, Donnie Wahlberg,
Ryan Seacrest and Brittany Snow have helped publicize the effort on
Facebook and Twitter. Over 20,000 people have joined the "Help
Find Lauren Spierer - Missing from Indiana University" Facebook page to
send prayers and wishes to the family.

Post by TomTerrific0420 Fri Jun 10, 2011 4:49 pm

The search for missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer is
hitting an odd roadblock because one of the last people to see her alive
claims he is suffering from memory loss.
Spierer, 20, has been missing for a week. She disappeared after partying with friends at a sports bar.
Two hours before Spierer vanished, surveillance cameras captured her
coming from Kilroy Sports Bar back to her apartment building with a
friend, Corey Rossman. The cameras captured a scuffle between Rossman
and another young man at the Smallwood Plaza apartment building complex.
"He was punched in the face. We don't know who, why or what was said,
but that punch or punches caused him a temporary memory loss," said Carl
Satzmann, Rossman's attorney.
Spierer and Rossman left the apartment building and she escorted Rossman
back to his apartment. She was there for about an hour with Rossman
and another young man.
Rossman doesn't remember Spierer walking him back to his apartment and
the first thing he remembers is waking up the next morning, his attorney
said. Police have searched Rossman's car and cell phone.
After returning Rossman to his apartment, Spierer left for another
friend's apartment. That friend saw her walk towards her own apartment
at about 4:30 a.m. last Friday. The pint-sized student who weighs less
than 100 pounds and is 4-foot-11 was last seen three blocks from her
apartment.
Spierer's long time boyfriend was one of the first people to become
concerned about her after she stopped responding to his text messages.
Police have also questioned him.
"He's the most loving boyfriend you can ask for. He really cares about
her. Lauren was his life, his number one priority. He would never do
anything to hurt her," said Hadar Tamir, Spierer's roommate.
The parents of -Spierer,
Robert and Charlene Spierer, have traveled from New York to aid in the
search. They are offering a $100,000 reward for the safe return of their
daughter.
On Thursday, police conducted a water search of Lake Monroe and searched
the city's reservoir. They have no suspects but continue conducting
polygraph exams.
"We still have a lot of things to look at and we're hoping for good information," Bloomington Police Lt. Bill Parker said.
The only trace of Spierer that has been found is her keys. They were
found a block away from where she was last seen. She left her cell phone
and shoes at the sports bar that she'd visited earlier in the night.
Making time even more crucial is Spierer's dangerous heart condition.
She has Long QT Syndrome, an irregular heartbeat, and takes medication
to treat the condition.
The blonde good natured student had just finished her sophomore year at
the university. She was taking a summer class before heading back to
New York to intern with Anthropologie. She is an apparel and
merchandising major.
Her parents appealed to homeowners in the area to check around their homes and businesses.
"We're asking that you check your own properties and look through the
fields, look through the woods...anything small could be big...so speak
up.," said Robert Spierer, Lauren's father.

Post by TomTerrific0420 Mon Jun 13, 2011 3:39 am

BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA -
There was a passionate plea Sunday from the mother of missing Indiana University student,
Lauren Spierer. The latest search for Lauren just started about a
half-hour ago and tonight we've learned search teams are starting off small.
They're taking step-by-meticulous-step to find any clue that could bring Lauren back home.
Rebecca Spierer quietly thanked each volunteer as she handed out bracelets
reminding them of her missing sister Lauren.
Nancy Dollar has two sons, one of them going
to college in the Fall, said, "Volunteer as a parent of two teenagers,
that is exactly is going through my mind is what it must be like to have a missing child."
Search teams are retracing their steps.
Looking foot by foot through the area where Lauren Spierer was last seen
looking for the smallest clue, possibly over looked by previous searches.
Don Cranfill, Search Coordinator, told Eyewitness News,
"We're looking for jewelry, clothing, drops of
blood, what ever you can find, what we are looking for is at your toes."
A key chain in the grass. A hair comb in the
mulch. An earring in the street, possible evidence retrieved by a law enforcement officer.
Like the volunteers, police say they are
undeterred in their search to find out what happened to Lauren Spierer.
They say the investigation is still in the information gathering stages
and there are still numerous of her friends and acquaintances they need to speak with
Captain Joe Qualters Bloomington Police
Department spokesperson said, "They are not readily available at this
time, but we've not gotten any resistance from anybody at this point."
Looking weary, parents Robert and Charlene
Spierer spoke with confidence and strength. "To say to the person that
has Lauren or has harmed Lauren, shame on you, shame on you," said Charlene.
She also had a heartfelt message for her
missing daughter, "Don't take my appearance of despair to mean that I am
not as strong as ever I'm not as determined as ever. I am here for you
100%. I will never leave you. I love you. I love you with all my heart, I need you back."
Parents, police, and volunteers all hoping for a small clue that could be a major break in this case.

BLOOMINGTON -
MONROE COUNTY - There are new
developments to report in the disappearance of 20-year-old Lauren
Spierer. Bloomington Police say they have video of an alley on the night
she vanished.
Bloomington Police Captain Joe Qualters said,
"I'm not going to get into specifics about what we have seen at this
point. We have talked about the video we have received and we are not
going to release it or talk about it."
The video could contain a key to unlock the
mystery of what and where Lauren Spierer was doing in the hours before
she disappeared. As we know it right now, at 2:30 am June 3rd she and a
friend left Kilroy's Bar and walked about a block and a half to the
Smallwood Apartment building where she lives.
Spierer was last seen on surveillance around 4:30am three blocks from her building.
She has been missing since June 3rd and
hundreds of volunteers have been showing up to search for her
in Bloomington. Sunday, the Indiana State Police helicopter took part in
the search.
Police have asked the volunteers to start
looking down and to go through the grass and the dirt . So far,
searchers have turned up a woman's bra and part of a cell phone. Police
have taken both.
The search for her has turned up little. In
an interview with NBC Sunday afternoon, her parents say they are still
hoping for the best but preparing otherwise.
"I think we expect to find her and we hope
she is okay when we find her." said her father, Robert Spierer. "I have
thought about that moment but right now I can't say I'm considering she
will just pop up."
Beginning Monday morning, a professional
search group from Texas will start work. The search schedule has been
altered to just two a day. You can see more of the interview with Lauren
Spierer's parents on the Today show.

The search for Edgemont High School Graduate Lauren Spier in
Bloomington, Indiana, which was featured on “America’s Most Wanted” over
the weekend, now focuses on possible drug use.

According to reports, Police for the first time today acknowledged
that they have received information that college student Lauren Spierer
may have overdosed on cocaine and that the student or students who
were with her panicked and disposed of her body.

Bloomington police Capt. Joe Qualters was asked by a reporter about these “rumors” during a morning media conference.
His reply: “Have we heard information along those lines? Absolutely.”
But he said detectives have not ruled that, or any other possibility, out in their investigation into the missing student.
“It’s absolutely critical for us to be open minded,” he said. “There is no shortage of information coming in.”
The 20-year-old Indiana University sophomore, a graduate of Edgemont
High School who has a rare heart condition, vanished early June 3 after a night of partying.

The father of a missing Indiana University student will spend this father's day weekend searching for his daughter.
You can see the worry and grief on Robert
Spierer's face. There has been no sign of his missing daughter Lauren
for over two weeks.
He admits, he has gotten little sleep. "Every
night's different. Some nights, trouble sleeping. Some nights I'll work
through the nights. Other nights I can get some sleep."
In a rare one-on-one interview WDRB asked him
how he's managed to hold himself together. "I don't think there's
anything unique about me, I'm a father, and I love my daughter. I'm here
to do what I think any loving parent would do for their child."
The search for Lauren has gained
international attention. The petite blonde was last seen June 3rd
walking home alone after a night out drinking with friends. Volunteers
continue coming out to search everday and donations keep pouring in.
For the second weekend in a row America's Most Wanted has run a segment on Lauren Spierer, resulting in hundreds of tips.
Police have released pictures of a truck of
interest seen circling the area Lauren was last seen in and around the
time she went missing. Spierer is hoping someone watching will give him
something to hope for this Father's Day Weekend. "My greatest wish for
Father's day is to get information and bring her home."
Although it has been weeks, social media is
keeping the search alive as many people are still showing up every
morning in Bloomington to search for Lauren on foot.

Bloomington, Ind—

After a massive search effort turned up nothing
Saturday, the parents of missing IU student Lauren Spierer say there is
much more work to be done.“As a parent, you need to get up every
day and look for your child,” said Robert Spierer, Lauren’s father.

LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN 480400180-26072158

"There are still areas that have not been touched. Today, teams are
getting assignments to go out and search. There are people on horses and
ATVs searching,” he said. The 20-year-old coed has been missing since June 3rd, when she was
last seen in the downtown Bloomington area, near her apartment complex. After
a big media push last week to get volunteers to come out Saturday to
join the search, hundreds of people showed up and canvassed heavily
wooded areas, including going to Brown County. But investigators say no
new clues were found.“We’re just overwhelmed. More than 600 people came out to search. We
greatly appreciate everything that was done,” said Robert Spierer.
Lauren’s mom said she is not giving up and is drawing on her daughter’s spirit to keep up the search. “I
get a lot of strength from Lauren. She’s a strong young lady,” said
Charlene Spierer. “I can’t imagine not finding her and leaving her out
here. We need information. Somebody has it,” she said. “We’re so
certain that the night she disappeared, someone has to know what
happened,” said Robert. “Someone can share information that will help
us find her.”Several people who know Lauren have been questioned
by police, but investigators say they do not have any suspects in
Spierer’s disappearance.Anyone with information in the case is urged to
contact Bloomington Police at 812-339-4477 or mail anonymous tips
to P.O. Box 1226 Bloomington, IN 47402-1226.The
Spierers also asked for continued support in their search effort
through volunteers. Organized search groups will leave from McNutt
Quadrangle on the IU campus during the daytime throughout the upcoming week.

BLOOMINGTON - The disappearance of an IU student earlier this month has similarities to a Tennessee case.
Nursing student Holly Bobo disappeared in
April, two months before 20-year-old Lauren Spierer went missing near
the IU campus. Both students are the same age and have similar looks, which raises questions.LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN 14994158_BG1
Holly Bobo (top)disappeared in Tennessee this past April.LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN 14994158_BG2
Lauren Spierer (right) was last seen early in the morning of June 3.

"I can't even tell you what it's like to get that phone call that your daughter is missing," said Spierer's mother, Charlene.
"I think of her. I love her," said Bobo's mother, Karen.
The Spierer case has dominated Indiana news
since June 3, when she was last reportedly spotted leaving a friend's
apartment around 4:30 in the morning. Police and volunteers have
searched, persons of interest have been questioned, but there have been no arrests yet.
Bobo disappeared 340 miles away, in
Tennessee, also in the morning. She was last seen being led away by a
man in camouflage. Volunteers have also joined the search for Bobo.
The two have more in common than their student status. Both are blond-haired, white females, age 20 and both are petite.
Information leading to the discovery of
Spierer, the daughter of a prominent New York family, could bring a
$100,000 reward. Bobo's cousin is country singer Whitney Duncan. There
is an $85,000 reward offered in her case.
Students around IU who saw Bobo's picture mistook her for Lauren Spierer.
Late Tuesday, Bloomington police told
Eyewitness News they were aware of the Tennessee case and the
similarities, but don't think there's a connection at this time.
With the "Find Lauren" search center shutting
down Wednesday and the end of daily searches, some students think it's
worth looking for patterns in other cases.
"It's probably three or four hours away from
here. If there's nothing else, it's worth looking at, if they haven't
found anything else yet," said student Chris Robbins.
"Any bit of information could be important, of course. They look so similar, identical," said student Wesley McKinney.
And it's not just these two women, other students missing around the country fit the same description.

Indianapolis Police hope that an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday
morning will help determine the identity of a woman's body found
floating in a local creek Sunday. The discovery has raised the interest
of investigators who are looking for 20-year-old Lauren Spierer, the
student who went missing in Bloomington more than a month ago. The
unidentified woman was found near the banks of the creek just before 7
p.m. Sunday. The body was stuck on some debris, and was discovered by a
family of six who were walking through the creek searching for clams,
reports CBS affiliate WISH. Due
to severe decomposition, officials say they can't determine the woman's
age, height or build. Police reports say the woman appeared to be
white, though decomposition had called even that into question. "Bloomington
Police investigators are in contact with IMPD, but at this time there
is not enough information for IMPD to determine the identity or a basic
description," wrote Bloomington Police Lieutenant William Parker in a
statement released Monday, reports the station. "A forensic examination
is pending which hopefully will provide more information." IMPD
spokesman Officer Kendale Adams stressed that there are several missing
persons cases also open in Marion County, but that there's no reason to
speculate on any connections yet. "In most cases we're able to
identify them pretty quickly, and we can start back tracking what
happened. But, in this case, we just don't know. We really have no idea
who this woman is. Until we can get that report back from the Marion
County Coroner's office, we just won't be able to determine who it is
and how they ended up there," Adams said Monday, according to the
station. An autopsy is expected to begin around 9 a.m. Tuesday. Lauren
Spierer was last seen on June 3 walking back to her Bloomington
apartment barefoot after a night out with friends. She wearing a white
tank top with a loose light-colored shirt over it and black full-length
stretch pants. She is described as a white woman, with longer than
shoulder length blonde hair, blue eyes, and a slender build. She is
4-feet-11-inches tall. Bloomington is about 50 miles south of Indianapolis.

MYFOXNY.COM - Friends and a local clothing store held a fundraiser for student Lauren Spierer in Westchester. The
money is being raised for a charity helping to continue the search for
the Indiana University student went missing over six weeks ago. A
“Headbands for Hope” event was held by LF Scarsdale, which is a women’s
clothing boutique, to raise awareness and money to help in the search
to Spierer who is from Greenburgh. Spierer worked at LF Scarsdale when she was in high school. Local
residents could purchase any of the items at the store, including
headbands. The headbands are one of Spierer’s favorite fashion items. Spierer,
20, disappeared after a night out with friends. Communities in
Bloomington, Indiana and Greenburgh have come together and rally to
support the search.

The boyfriend of missing college student Lauren Spierer spoke with
detectives this week and has taken a lie-detector test, he confirmed in a
Facebook exchange with a Journal News reporter. And he suggested he passed the polygraph."If I failed a polygraph everyone in the world would know," read the message written from Jesse Wolff's Facebook account. These were his first public comments since police identified him early in the investigation as one of the "persons of interest."He
also said "my life (explective) sucks," in response to questions about
the disappearance, search and investigation that has now been going on
for 50 days.Wolff,
a resident of Port Washington, Long Island, who graduated this year
from Indiana University, told friends that he had planned to get
together with Spierer early June 3, but they couldn't reach each other
that morning because, as he learned later, she left her cellphone at a
bar.He was the
one bar employees called later in the morning to report they had her
phone, after seeing several text exchanges between the couple.Wolff's
main Facebook photo, undated, shows him and Spierer — a 20-year-old
from Edgemont — with arms around each other, both smiling as she
clutched a red plastic cup. The two met as teenagers at a Jewish summer
camp in Pennsylvania and started dating seriously after she enrolled at
IU in 2009.A couple weeks ago, police in Bloomington, Ind., searched the home that Wolff shared with former fraternity brothers.Since
Spierer's disappearance, a reporter for the Journal News has sent
repeated emails to Wolff and visited his home in Port Washington on
Thursday, seeking an interview. His parents declined, with his father
saying his son wasn't home.Wolff
responded today via Facebook, urging the reporter to "Leave me alone
please." He then stated, "I spoke with the detectives Tuesday and have
taken a polygraph. All my cards are out on the table ..."Asked
whether police administered the polygraph, and for the results, Wolff
replied, "what the (expletive) do you think the results were? if i
failed a polygraph everyone in the world would know ...."Asked
again whether police administered it, he replied, "I don't think you
are understanding what i just said to you ... dont (sic) ever talk to me
again."He also declined to share details of his interactions with Spierer in the hours before she went missing."(Expletive) you and (expletive) the media," he wrote. "I tell the police everything because they can actually help."Neither police nor his lawyer responded to calls seeking comment.

LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN Empty Re: LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN

Post by kiwimom Sat Jul 23, 2011 12:29 am

BLOOMINGTON,
Ind. -- Indiana University sophomore Lauren Spierer was so
incapacitated as she left her apartment building the morning she went
missing that she stumbled out of her elevator, fell against a wall and
had to be helped to her feet by a male friend who led her out of the
building, a person who saw the video evidence said Thursday. The
evidence contradicts statements by friend Corey Rossman's lawyer, who
said Spierer helped his client walk home June 3 after he was punched in
the face and suffered memory loss."As
for this idea that she was Florence Nightingale and taking him back
because she was concerned, she wasn't in any condition to take care of
herself, let alone another human being," said the source, who has seen
the evidence but who was only willing to comment anonymously. "She
couldn't even stand up on her own. I have difficulty with this
individual (Rossman) saying he can't remember anything when he's the guy
who picked her up and took her out of the building."The 20-year-old from Greenburgh, N.Y., disappeared early June 3 after a night of partying.Police
have not publicized contents of the video, saying only that it shows
Spierer and an acquaintance entering an apartment building about 2:30
a.m. and leaving about 15 minutes later. Another video surveillance
camera, in an alley a few hundred yards up the street, captured footage
of her and an acquaintance walking toward Rossman's building a few
minutes later. That was the last video evidence of her that morning.According
to lawyers for Rossman and his roommate, Mike Beth, she stopped in
their apartment, then left after Beth put Rossman to bed.Neighbor
Jay Rosenbaum, a friend of theirs, said Spierer then visited his place.
He told friends that he urged her to sleep over but let her leave after
she showed she could walk without stumbling. He told police he saw her
rounding a corner toward home about 4:15 a.m. That was the last reported
sighting of her.Police are continuing their investigation
and suspect foul play in her disappearance, but they have not released
any new details for weeks.

LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN Empty Re: LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN

Post by kiwimom Sat Jul 30, 2011 3:34 am

Missing IU student Lauren Spierer associate Corey Rossman 'story' contradicted

He says he got punched in the face and she helped him make it home,
according to his lawyer Carl Salzmann. But Corey Rossman's story about
missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer doesn't hold water a
source told a news reporter for the Indy Channel's 6News.

Lauren Spierer was last seen on video cameras walking with Corey Rossman,
after leaving her apartment at Smallwood Plaza. The Indy Channel source
said that the video footage of Corey and Lauren show she couldn't have
been helping him make it to his apartment, as he claims, because she was
barely able to walk herself due to being too intoxicated.

Lauren Spierer's possessions found

Spierer's possessions, including her purse and keys, were found
littering the area between her residence and Rossmans after an
investigation into her disappearance began, lending some credibility
that Lauren Spierer was either so intoxicated she didn't know she had
lost the items at the time -- or she met with foul play en route to
Rossman's apartment as they navigated the area together.

A physical description of the missing IU sophomore student,
and what she was wearing when she disappeared, was released to the
public after her disappearance but no one, other than the men who are
known to have been with her the night she disappeared, have admitted to
seeing her after the last official recording of her movements.

Before the night she disappeared, Spierer had only met Corey Rossman
once, at a car racing event when she was introduced to him weeks earlier
by her fellow IU roommate Hadar Tamir, who was a friend of Corey Rossmans by her own account.

Lauren Spierer barely knew Corey Rossman

On the night she disappeared, therefore, Spierer ran into Rossman yet
again, this time at another friend of Tamir's -- Jay Rosenbaum. Spierer
allegedly went to watch a ballgame at Rosenbaum's according to her
friend Hadar Tamir, before leaving the Rosenbaum premises with Corey
Rossman -- who happens to live in the same building as Rosenbaum and is a
Rosenbaum friend.

Spierer and Corey Rossman left Rosenbaums together en route to a
sports bar in the area named Kilroy's, and video footage documents their
presence at the bar. However, they did not stay for very long and
Spierer's cell phone and shoes were left behind at Kilroy's when the two
left the bar's premises together, leading some to speculate she was
already intoxicated to the point of not knowing she didn't have her cell
anymore.

Rumors circulated and were put to Bloomington Police, after Spierer's disappearance, about alleged cocaine and drug use,
as well as the fact that she was watching a ballgame at Jay Rosenbaums
with Corey Rossman while her boyfriend Jesse Wolffe was home watching
the same game alone, allegedly unaware of her activity.

Neither Spierer's roommate Hadar Tamir or her boyfriend Jesse Wolffe
raised the alarm about Spierer's disappearance on the early morning of
June 3, with both stating they did not realize she was missing until
much later.

Bloomington Police IU student video footage

Bloomington Police said that Spierer and Rossman were captured on
video security footage at Spierer's apartment building at Smallwood
Plaza, after they left Kilroy's Sports Bar and that the two were only on
the premises for less than 15 minutes before leaving.

The two were captured on other video footage as they made their way
from Spierer's apartment at Smallwood Plaza to Corey Rossman's.

Rossman has alleged that a confrontation occurred during his and
Spierer's time at Smallwood, which resulted in him getting punched in
the face and losing all memory of the night's events. He says that is
why he can't help police further, due to the memory loss, and left the
college campus and his residence in Bloomington, returning home as the
investigation got underway.

Lauren Spierer disappearance

Lauren Spierer disappeared the early morning of June 3, and she has
not been seen or heard from since her foray with Corey Rossman according
to substantiated evidence on video footage.

Bloomington Police were told by Corey Rossman's roommate and friend,
Mike Beth, that Rossman went to bed and was not the last person to see
Spierer that night after he made it home. However, that witness account
cannot be substantiated by means other than Mike Beth.

Since Beth is Rossman's roommate and friend, police have to consider
the potential possibility that Beth isn't being truthful during the
course of their investigation. They have to seek outside verification to
substantiate his testimony that Rossman was, indeed, in bed and
suffering from memory loss.

Mike Beth and Jay Rosenbaum testimony

Mike Beth told police that he put Corey Rossman to bed after he and
Lauren arrived in the wee hours of June 3, and that he tried to get
Lauren to stay but she refused. Jay Rosenbaum also told police that
Lauren left Corey Rossman's residence, because he says she visited him
next in the apartment building, and that, like Mike Beth, he also tried
to get her to remain with him, but she refused to stay at his place as well.

Jay Rosenbaum said that he was the last person, not Corey Rossman, to
see Lauren Spierer alive, as he watched her walk a few blocks away
before he lost sight of her completely.

Profile

Lauren Spierer spent the better part of the evening before -- and
morning of -- her disappearance with Corey Rossman. She had only met him
once before, when her roommate Hadar Tamir introduced them.

Spierer, uncharacteristically, left behind her shoes, cell phone,
purse and keys in two locations while in the company of Rossman. In
addition, she went missing for the first time in her life and hasn't
been seen sinced her outing with him on the date in question.

And it is Rossman's friends -- fellow student and roommate Mike Beth,
as well as fellow student, friend and neighbor Jay Rosenbaum -- who are
providing police with testimony that would exonerate Rossman as the
last person to see Lauren Spierer alive.

Couple all of that with no known video footage to substantiate any
testimony or sightings of Lauren Spierer after she was recorded in the
presence of Corey Rossman, as well as his convenient memory loss alibi,
and you have a good reason for police to zero in on this particular
student for additional questioning and interest in the disappearance of
missing IU student Lauren Spierer.

Video footage showing an intoxicated Spierer unable to stand on her
own two feet, essentially, when Rossman is claiming she had to help him
navigate his way back to his apartment, makes Rossman's testimony and
activities the day Lauren Spierer disappeared even more suspect, as a
source is insinuating to Indy Channel 6.

Lauren Spierer missing case takes new turn as FBI wants to search Indiana landfill for clues

BY Larry Mcshane
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

The owner of an Indiana landfill says the FBI wants to search the property for clues in the case of a college student who went missing two months ago.

Lauren Spierer, 20, was last seen June 3 while walking near her Bloomington, Ind,. apartment. The Greenburgh, N.Y., resident was on her way home from a bar when she disappeared.

The FBI reached out to the owners of the Sycamore Ridge Landfill, which takes in trash from Bloomington, said Peg Mulloy, spokeswoman for the landfill owners.

It was unclear when the search might begin. Spierer is a student at Indiana University.

Republic Services, which owns and operates the landfill, began cooperating with the FBI last month about a possible search, Mulloy told The Indianapolis Star.

The company even provided a blueprint of the landfill to provide a guide made for federal investigators, Mulloy said.

Lauren Spierer vanished from Bloomington, Indiana, on June 3rd 2011.
No new leads have come up in her case, and her parents have nowhere to
turn to find their lost loved one. Why hasn't she been found? It's
important to hold onto hope that maybe Lauren Spierer could still be
alive somewhere, but that hope is slim.
LAUREN SPIERER - 20 yo - Indiana U/ Bloomington IN LSpierer_twitter
The parents of the missing 20-year-old fashion student released a new poster
of their daughter today along with a statement:
Our daughter, Lauren Spierer, disappeared on June 3, 2011.

Every time we write, think or utter those words we are riveted back to the
afternoon we received the phone call about her disappearance. It is
impossible to explain, as we continue to search for Lauren, what the
experience of having a missing child is like. There is no explanation
for why this has happened. Imagine learning one of the most important
people in your world has disappeared and there is not enough information
available from friends and acquaintances to find them. There is no
reason to think the people Lauren was last with, wouldn't do everything
in their power to help us find her. But, alas, there is deafening silence. That
silence compounds our frustration, our desperation and our grief in not
having found Lauren. It threatens to be our undoing but make no mistake,
we will never give up. Just as someone in your life is special to you,
be it child, friend or family member,
Lauren
is special to us. As the new school year begins, we hope and pray that
more information about Lauren's disappearance will be forthcoming. We
remain in Bloomington for one purpose...TO FIND LAUREN.

Rob and Charlene Spierer

It's easy to see how heartbroken the parents of this missing student
are. They still can't believe how the friends of the missing woman
haven't come forward with any more information. It's already been
reported that one friend, anonymously, gave them some tips, but since
then nobody has come forward. They truly feel that someone knows what
happened to Lauren, and they're probably very right.
It's interesting to point out that not one update has risen in this case with
the exception of her parents' statement. Not even any new statements
from the man who was last with her have come up in searches. It seems
that while Lauren's parents are suffering at her disappearance, those
who knew her are moving on like she never existed. That's deplorable.

Missing Student’s Family Launches New Effort To Find Her, Promotes Campus Safety

As they launched a new effort to find their
missing daughter coinciding with the start of the new school year at
Indiana University, the family of Lauren Spierer posted a full-page
letter in the campus newspaper Monday promoting student safety.

Nearly three months after the 20-year-old’s June 3 disappearance,
family members and friends posted almost 10,000 posters featuring the
missing student around Bloomington Sunday, according to the Indiana
Daily Student newspaper. The family hoped the poster campaign would draw
new attention to the case and create pressure for those who know the
truth to come forward.

Spierer was seen on surveillance video returning to her apartment
building from a Bloomington bar with a friend around 2:30 am on June 3.
They left about 10 minutes later, going to the friend’s apartment after
he had a confrontation with some other students. Police say the last
confirmed sighting of her was on security video in an alley between the
two buildings around 2:50 am. Another friend said he watched Spierer
leave to walk home at 4:30 am, but she never got there.

Spierer had reportedly left her cell phone and shoes at the bar, and her keys and purse were later found in that alley.

Robert Spierer, Lauren’s father, told CNN affiliate WRTV, "It's a
fact that somebody's responsible for Lauren's disappearance, and
somebody knows where she is. They know what happened. They know where
she is, and they're just not coming forward."

Spierer’s mother, father and sister reinforced this point in a letter
published in the Indiana Daily Student. They also warned other students
that what happened to Lauren could easily happen to them if they are
not more careful, noting that they recently saw another girl walking
down the street at 3 am wearing no shoes.

“You are not invincible,” the Spierers’ letter to returning students
said. “Bad things happen to good people. You owe it to yourself to be
safe. You owe it to yourself to choose your friends wisely and know that
they will do the right thing if you need their help. You owe it to
yourself to be the person who does the right thing for a friend.”

Lauren’s parents have often complained that the students who were
with her in the early hours of June 3 have not been forthcoming with
information. Several of those identified as persons of interest by
police have hired attorneys.

Local station WXIN had the first on-camera comments on the case by
one of those friends Monday. Jay Rosenbaum was the one who claimed he
saw Spierer last, walking away from his building toward her apartment,
alone, drunk and barefoot.

"In order to protect this case, nobody wants me to talk. Please
stop," Rosenbaum said after a reporter followed him through a parking
lot to his car pelting him with questions.

Asked if he had a message for Spierer’s family, Rosenbaum said, “I deal with them privately. I talk to them privately.”

Then he rolled up his car window and drove away.

A nine-day search of a nearby landfill wrapped up last Friday without
turning up any evidence connected to the case, WRTV reported. After two
months of planning, authorities dug through more than 4,100 tons of
trash from the Bloomington area at the Sycamore Ridge Landfill. The
garbage collected from Spierer’s neighborhood around the day she went
missing had been isolated and preserved for the search.

Anyone with information about Lauren Spierer can contact the
Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477 or email
helpfindlauren@gmail.com.

Spierer family denies relationship with person of interest in disappearance

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The last person to
see a missing IU student refused to speak with a reporter, saying the
only ones he needs to answer to is Lauren Spierer's family.

"We talk privately," Jay Rosenbaum says, "I talk with them privately."

But Lauren Spierer's mother Charlene says Jay Rosenbaum is lying. She released this statement:

"We do not have and have never had any
relationship with Jay Rosenbaum. I have never spoken with Jay Rosenbaum
about Lauren's disappearance and I have had absolutely no interaction
with him whatsoever."

Lauren Spierer vanished on June 3rd after a
night out with friends. Bloomington Police have identified a few people
of interest -- including Rosenbaum.
