I just read on firstcoastnews.com that LE set up another roadblock in the neighborhood yesterday until 2AM to see who comes and goes on Monday's in that neighborhood. Maybe a newspaper deliveryman, utility company, whatever.

"We might find that there's a paper delivery or a gas delivery company or something that comes and goes on this day and time and we'd just like to know who was down here and maybe did they see anything."

Sgt. Wells said the roadblock, which will be up until 2 a.m., is part of CART protocol, which is the Child Abduction Response Team.

one week after 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her
bedroom, local, state and federal authorities have sent volunteer
search-and-rescue teams home but said they will continue "tactical
searches" in response to new leads.Almost from the beginning, authorities treated Haleigh's disappearance as an abduction.Late Monday, Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy urged everyone involved not to give up hope that the girl will be found alive."We're
asking the family: Do not give up hope. We have hope that we're going
to find Haleigh, and we hope to bring her home alive," Hardy said, his
voice cracking. "As I explained it to them with my staff -- we've not
abandoned the search. Depending on the urgency of the tip, we have
resources ready to deploy."Sunday, after a six-day search of a
5-mile area around the Satsuma mobile home where Haleigh disappeared,
officials suspended general search operations, WJXT-TV reported.But
a tip that came in Monday morning prompted about 60 officers to search
for hours in a field near Pomona Park -- about 10 miles south of
Satsuma. They left without finding anything significant.Haleigh's
family, which expressed support for the decision to scale back the
daily searches on Sunday, was openly critical Monday that not enough
was being done."I asked that we get permission for horses to
still be out here to look," Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, said
Monday. "It's not time to give up. It's still time. My daughter is

putnam county records, Donald Sapp was once married to Angela Sapp
(several domestic violence injunctions there too).

Shelbie Marie Cribbs (the child who drowned) had a maternal grandmother named Twila Griffis.

Is this somehow connected to Chad Griffis, boyfriend of Haleigh's bio-mom Crystal Sheffield?

IMO...

It just seems that the father wouldn't be begging for searchers to continue, if he had anything to do with his daughter disappearing. I think he's done some stupid petty crimes in the past, but it doesn't seem that he would hurt his kid.

Some of my friends growing up were not the nicest people and got into trouble alot, but as soon as they had children their whole outlook on life changed. Most of them got away drugs and the bad crowds. They became amazing parents.

Over on the Haleigh Cummings topic, there were some questions about the rightness of Tim's seemingly sudden decision to call off the search for little Haleigh.

I understand how odd, and even unjust, that might seem to some of you because (1) A law enforcement official said he wished TES would stay; and (2) You just plain aren't happy with Tim's vague, standard explanation that TES has other searches to conduct and limited resources that are needed elsewhere (or words to that effect).

Regarding (1): the LE official who said he'd like TES to continue searching was, I believe, from the FBI, however it was the Sheriff's office that was in charge, and the Sheriff himself decided to halt the search.

Regarding (2): When LE requests TES's assistance, TES's function is to lend its support, equipment, manpower, and searching expertise to LE. TES works with and for LE--not the other way around. LE may, and frequently does, put Tim/TES in charge of the actual searches, but if LE decides the search should halt, it halts.

I don't what reasons the Sherrif had to halt the search, you don't know what the reasons were, either. Tim almost certainly does know what the reasons are but, guys, he's not going to discuss any of that with the media. Not now, not ever. No matter how vitally important or how relatively insignificant LE's reasons may be, Tim leaves it to LE to reveal whatever they want to reveal, when and if they choose to reveal it.

For Tim's part, he will only say--truthfully--that TES now has other places where TES is needed and where TES's resources can best be used. It's the truth. It may or may not be all the bits and pieces of the entire truth. But I can tell you this much, lack of financial "resources" had nothing to do with Tim turning down Ronald Cumming's personal plea to continue the search. If TES didn't have the funds, Tim would pull out his personal ATM card, and if he didn't have enough funds, he'd hock the horses before he turned his back on Ronald Cummings or anyone else in that poor man's situation!

Look, guys, you're here because you know already that things are frequently not what they seem. Tim can't be expected to explain all the reasons for what he does or to discuss any of the behind-the-scenes details that might clarify his actions. To him, the only way to insure that nothing he says or does can ever jeopardize LE's pursuit of justice is to...remain silent.

He does what his conscience dictates, and occasionally he draws some fire for that. He's no saint (he even cusses occasionally LOL ) but he's as close to a hero as anyone I've ever met.

I forget sometimes that Tim has been "soldiering" his way through life from the time he was six months old (when his mother put him in a dresser drawer, tucked his brother in bed, lit the house on fire, and left them.) Then came the series of foster homes and unspeakable abuses--and then, finally, foster parents who loved him and taught him about right and wrong and ethics. Oh, wow. I have really digressed.

Anyway thanks to all of you for being the people you are.

4:30 p.m. Investigators announced this afternoon that they do not know what Haleigh Cummings was wearing the night she disappeared from her Satsuma home.

The pink shirt they initially thought she was wearing is in their possession. Authorities wouldn't release any more details about the shirt – how they discovered the shirt and whether it was being tested for forensic evidence.

"Now, what we need to focus on is the face," said Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent in Charge Dominick Pape. "We don't want people to focus on the shirt."

okay, as far as we know twila is not related to anyone named chad. she does have a son, but he name isn't chad. i also found the boyfriend's myspace, and he doesn't look familiar: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=418138401

i'm originally from putnam county and went to school with several griffiths. it's a pretty common name in putnam. but it looks like he's from macclenny (hometown), which is something like an hour and a half away from palatka.

i don't really recall what exactly happened with shelbie. i want to say that there was a woman at that residence that should have been watching her and she wasn't, or everyone there should have been watching her and they weren't. it really was an accident.

OK AFTER listening to the lates news on this, at the 4;00 PRESS CONFERENCE, LE ARE not saying what their leads are or did not answer any questions about the scene at the house... they are keeping it to themselves, which leads me to believe, they do not want the kidnapper to know where they stand.... I also believed they think she is still alive and who ever has her, must know her.... jmo

i try. most of the time i'm blorking and don't have anything to say, but that one hit a little too close to home.

my parents (who still live in putnam county) are following everything pretty closely, and my dad and i agree that the girlfriend is the key. she's just all over the place!

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News discovered that the Putnam County Sheriff's Office is investigating Ronald Cummings' girlfriend, who claimed that she was at home and sleeping when Haleigh Cummings was taken. But a tip puts the spot light on the 17-year-old girlfriend.

The most recent information investigators got was that Ronald Cummings' girlfriend, Misty Croslin, may not have been home when Haleigh disappeared from her Satusum house early last week.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said its dealing with more than 1,200 tips in the case and plans to pursue each and every one of them.

"We will take any lead, any place, anytime," said Dominick Pape of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

On CNN, Tuesday night, Haleighs paternal grandmother, Terese Neves, spoke out in support of the 17-year-old's story.

"I believe someone went into the house and took her. I believe they either know my grandchildren and my family or Haleigh's mother's family," said Neves.

Sheriff's deputies also said they have the pink shirt that Haleigh was thought to be wearing when she disappeared.

"What we now need people to focus on is this face because we do not know at this time what the clothing was at this point," said Pape.

The massive search for Haleigh was scaled back this week. Deputies do not want to say too much in fear of jeopardizing the investigation, but confirmed they set up a road block this week and interviewed at least 300 neighbors in the area.

"We've got a life of a 5-year-old girl at stake," he said.

Another prayer vigil was held Tuesday night, at the Dunns Creek Baptist Church in Putnam County.

Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings and the little girl's mother, Crystal Sheffield sat side by side while the community came together to comfort them.

"I care for the people even though I don't know them," said one neighbor.
