Plant expert: Caylee’s body in woods for 2 weeks

Orlando, FL — Casey Anthony looked away as the defense’s second witness testified about the vegetation surrounding Caylee’s skull in Day 24 of her murder trial.

Dr. Jane Bock, a forensic botanist, said that she believed Caylee’s remains were in the woods for approximately two weeks before they were discovered.

“So you’ve viewed the roots that are growing through the hair mass, and is it your opinion that those roots could have grown there in just two weeks in December?” prosecutor Jeff Ashton asked.

“Could have accumulated there in two weeks, yes,” Bock said.

“Well, is there a difference between grown there and accumulated there?” Ashton asked.

“Yes,” Bock said.

“Could they have grown there in two weeks?” Ashton asked.

“Yes,” Bock said.
