The Isabella County Sheriff's office has called off an amber alert for four year old
boy that they believed was in danger, but the incident is not completely resolved.
Brody Fish, is the little boy in this picture and he was found safe in Genesee County with the man who allegedly took him, Jason Fish.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (WZZM) -- Authorities say the body of an
Isabella County woman whose 4-year-old son was the subject of a weekend
Amber Alert has been found at her home.

Stephanie Fish,34, was apparently fatally shot in Weidman, about 12
miles northwest of Mount Pleasant. The child, Brody Fish, was was found
safe Sunday during a traffic stop in Genesee County with his father,
Jason Fish, Stephanie's husband.

Fish was arraigned in Mount Pleasant late Monday afternoon. He is
facing a charge of open murder and three firearm felonies. He told the
judge he is a stay at home dad with no income.

Stephanie Fish was last seen Friday night. The Amber Alert was issued
Sunday and the search initially was handled as a missing persons case.

The sheriff's department says the death may have stemmed from a
domestic dispute and a .22-caliber rifle was seized as possible
evidence.

The Isabella County Sheriff said Jason and Brody Fish spent Saturday
night in Grand Rapids, at a friend's home. That friend was unaware of
what had happened in Isabella County.

SABELLA CO. -- A 34-year-old Michigan man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife.
Jason Lantz Fish was arrested Monday Morning by the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department.
Fish was arraigned Monday afternoon, and now faces four felony counts.
Fish is charged with murder, firearm possession by a felon, and two counts of felony firearms possession.
This
weekend, Jason, his wife Stephanie, and their 4-year-old son Brody went
missing. Jason and Brody were found safe Sunday, but Stephanie
remained missing.
Authorities recently found Stephanie’s body in the family’s home.
Michigan
State Police are working with the sheriff’s department to investigate.
So far, a .22 caliber rifle has been seized as possible evidence.
The 4-year-old child is currently staying with a family member while the investigation continues.

An Isabella County (Michigan) man’s conflicting statements led to an
Amber Alert on Sunday and ultimately the discovery of his wife’s body in
a crawl space of their home.

Jason Lantz Fish’s claim to his
mother-in-law that Stephanie Fish “ran off with another man” was not
consistent with what he told his wife’s boss: that he was taking her to
rehab after finding needles in her purse, according the affidavit that
let to Jason Fish being charged with murder.

The couple’s 4-year-old son, Brody, was with his father when he was found by police
at a rest area in Genesee County Sunday night and later told police that
“daddy put mommy in the bathtub and shot her with a gun, bang bang,” according to the affidavit.

Stephanie Fish was found early Monday morning by police after her husband’s arrest late Sunday night.

He was charged Monday with one count of open murder, being a felon in
possession of a firearm and two felony firearms violations.

Stephanie’s mother, Denise Gates, had been attempting to contact her over the
weekend and told police it appeared that her phone was turned off
because calls went directly to voice mail, according to the affidavit.

On Saturday at about 6:30 p.m., Jason spoke to Gates, telling her that
Stephanie left home with another man and that he was very upset and
contemplating suicide.

He also told Gates that Brody was with him, according to the affidavit.

Stephanie’s boss at the bowling alley, however, said Jason contacted him at about
10 a.m. Saturday, telling him that she would not be to work for 30 to 45
days because he was taking her to drug rehab, according to the affidavit.

Because of Jason’s different stories about his wife’s
whereabouts, the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department issued the Amber
Alert in an attempt to locate the two at about 6 p.m. Sunday. Continued...
