MATTHEW HARRIS - 7 Months. Accused: Antonio Warren - Suffolk VA

A Suffolk man is facing murder and child abuse charges after police say an infant died while in his care. Antonio
Warren, Jr., 29, is charged in the death of 7-month-old Matthew Harris.
Medics were called to the apartment where Matthew lived on April 13
after the infant stopped breathing.
Matthew was taken to DePaul Hospital, where he later died.
"Its a sad time. It hurt me to my heart," said neighbor Paul Echols.
Warren is charged with murder and child abuse.
Karen
Parker-Chesson, with the Norfolk Police Department, said, "At the time
of the infant's distress, the defendant or the accuser was the
caregiver."
Neighbor's say Matthew and his mother had recently moved into the complex.
Warren
faced a judge on Monday and remains in custody. A preliminary hearing
is set for June 4 at Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in Norfolk.
