Orange Park woman has been missing for 1 year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It has been one year today since the family of an Orange Park woman has had any contact with her.

Rosemary Day, now 28, went missing from Jacksonville on May 21, 2011. She was reported missing on May 30, 2011, according to her family. In August, Day's car was found on Liberty Street.

When she went missing, she weighed 150 lbs, but it is likely that she is skinnier now, probably around 100 lbs, according to family friend Trish LeClere.

A fundraising event was held at the Orange Park Lions Club on Sunday to go towards a reward fund, which will go to anyone with information about Day's whereabouts.

According to a message from her sister in the info section on the "Help Find Rosemary Day" page, Day was in an abusive relationship and was asked by the family of her abuser to drop the charges.

"I believe that with all my heart if she followed through with the charges and her abuser would be in jail! Her act of kindness backfired on her and all of us," her sister wrote.
