"A Naperville woman is suspected of stabbing to death her 8-year-old son and the 5-year-old girl she had been babysitting, then fleeing to a church and finally to a relative who called police, officials said.
Officers found the children in a bedroom shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Quin Court in the western suburb, officials said.
The children were each stabbed "dozens of times," sources say. The boy was on a mattress and the girl on the floor, officials said. Their bodies remained on the scene until early this afternoon, when they were removed by the coroner's office.
Two dogs were also found stabbed to death in the home, sources said.
The suspect was covered with blood when officers took her into custody, officials said.
The girl's mother lived in the Quin Court townhouse and had left her daughter in the babysitter’s care to go to work, a source said.
The law enforcement official said the suspect had been distraught for several days after the death of her father. The source said the suspect had taken the children to a church in Naperville earlier Tuesday and then returned with them to the Quin Court address.
At some point Tuesday night, the source said, she argued on the phone with her husband because she wanted to return to her native Poland while he wanted to remain here.
The suspect confessed to police that she attacked the children after hearing demonic voices, according to the source. Another source said that, under questioning about the demonic comments, the suspect also said she was angry with her husband.
The woman drove back to the church after the slayings but no one was there, the source said. She left several voice messages on the church answering machine and, at some point, threw her cellular phone out the window of her car. The source said the suspect then drove to the home of a relative, who called 911.
Authorities have declined to identify the suspect in the case or the parents of the other child who was slain.

A Naperville woman identified by neighbors as the mother of the 5-year-old girl declined to talk to a
reporter when reached by phone Wednesday afternoon.
One of the children had been a kindergartner at Brookdale Elementary School, the
other a student at Naperville Community Unit School District 203.
"It is with great sadness that we inform you that the Brookdale community
mourns the loss of one of our kindergarten students, who passed away
last night," Principal Mary Howicz said in a statement. "The district's
crisis team is in place this morning to support students and staff as
they cope with this news. They will remain in place for as long as
necessary as students work through their feelings and grief. If you feel
your child is having any difficulty with this news, please don't
hesitate to contact us so that we can be aware of your child's needs.
Please keep the Brookdale family in your thoughts during this very
difficult time."
Susan Rice, spokeswoman for Naperville Community
School District 203, said crisis teams will also be in place at Scott
to help families.
"This is a tragedy that affects the entire
community," Rice said. "And any time there is the loss of a child, we
feel it very deeply and all have to support one another at this
difficult time."
Students returning to Scott after lunch today were dressed in costumes for Halloween activities.
Geri Everson, who has a son in second grade, said “I’m not going to tell him
(about the incident) unless he asks me. We are trying to have a happy
day and keep the kids positive.”
She said she was getting updates from the school through emails and phone calls.
Tim Prerost, who has a daughter at Scott, said, “It’s unthinkable, it’s shocking, but we don’t know what
really happened.”
Another parent who would only identify herself as Christine said: “It’s horribly sad. It’s a tight-knit school and
it’s really difficult for everyone.”
The children were found in a townhome in the Brookdale subdivision in
the northwestern corner of Naperville, at the back of a small cul-de-sac
of townhouses.
Several marked and unmarked police cars were in the cul-de-sac this morning and police officers were inside the home.
Two white cars were parked in the driveway of the townhome, and crime scene
tape was around a garage and the front of the home. News helicopters
circled above the neighborhood.
Dean Spooner, who owns a Chicago tattoo business, has lived in the neighborhood for 18 years but didn't know the family.
"I'd wave hello to her in passing," he said. "I'm just sorry for the tragedy. Everyone is private around here."
Another neighbor, Gina Marie Vlach, said the neighbors believe the mother and child only recently moved into the cul-de-sac.
Vlach, an eight-year resident of the Brookdale Manor subdivision, said she
learned of the tragedy at 6 a.m. when she went outside to walk her dogs,
Bella and Rocky, and saw a swarm of police squads.
"It's quiet," she said of the typically serene neighborhood, "you can hear a pin drop."
Thomas Brinson, 56, was home Tuesday night but said he never heard a
disturbance. "It was pretty quiet last night. It's a pretty quiet
street," he said. "The helicopters woke me up this morning."
Brinson, an emergency room nurse at Provena Mercy in Aurora, said he has lived
on the street for five years and believes the family moved in within the
past year.
Lindsay Reinhardt, 29, who has lived on Quin Court
for three years, didn't see anything Tuesday night. "It's really quiet.
It's always been really safe ... Everyone is pretty friendly."

Illinois Mom Stabbed Son and Girl 150 Times, Police Say

The Illinois woman charged with the murder of her 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting stabbed them dozens of times in order to get attention from her husband, according to police.
Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, of Naperville, Ill., was denied bail by a Chicago-area court today on two counts of first-degree murder. She was ordered held in DuPage County.
Plackowska, who was babysitting Olivia Dworakowski, was arrested after the 5-year-old and her son Justin Plackowski, 7, were found by police slashed and stabbed "numerous, numerous times" at approximately 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at Dworakowski's family home.
Sgt. Lou Cammisso with the Naperville police department told ABCNews.com that it is believed Justin Plackowski was stabbed approximately 100 times and Olivia Dworakowski was stabbed approximately 50 times. When they were found, both children's throats had been slashed. Autopsies are being conducted today, Cammisso said.
Plackowska was found by authorities covered in blood at the nearby home of a friend, where her 20-year-old son was staying, police said. A bloody knife was found in her car.
"She first said something about being robbed," Cammisso told ABCNews.com. "Then they summoned police, and her story wasn't making sense. We asked about her child, and that's when she gave the address where we found both children."
Plackowska was taken to the hospital for superficial cuts on her hands, Cammisso said. Investigators from the Naperville Police Department and the DuPage County States Attorney's Office questioned her before charges were filed.
"She gave a variety of stories … things like that she was the victim of robbery, the victim of a stalker, that she was possessed, that the kids were possessed. She went through stories that detectives eventually shot down, until ultimately admitting the stories were lies and that she killed children to get attention from her husband," Cammisso said.
Plackowska's husband is a long-haul trucker who is frequently away, Cammisso told ABCNews.com. She is not a U.S. citizen, he said, and she arrived here 12 years ago on a vacation visa. Authorities are still trying to determine her immigrations status.
Cammisso said that Plackowska had called a church and left a voicemail saying she'd "done something very wrong, and needed help" the night the children were murdered. Police believe she then tossed her phone out the window of her car.
Authorities also found two dead dogs in the home that also were stabbed. Investigators said there was no reason to believe that any additional suspects were at large.
Plackowska frequently babysat Olivia, according to Cammisso. He said that she and the girl's mother lived about five miles apart, and they met on a Polish networking site when the girl's mother was looking for a sitter.
Olivia attended kindergarten at Brookdale Elementary School and Justin was a student at Scott Elementary School.
"This is an extremely difficult time, but this is an extremely strong community and I'm confident in this community and our school district that we will pull together and move through this tragic event," said Naperville School district Superintendent Dan Bridges.
Plackowski will appear in court next on Nov. 21, 2012.

Prosecutor: Naperville woman stabbed children approximately 150 times
WHEATON — A suburban Chicago woman stabbed her 7-year-old son 100 times then turned the knife on a 5-year-old girl who witnessed the killing, as both children begged for their lives, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, told investigators she stabbed the children and slashed their throats on Tuesday night at the home in Naperville because she was angry with her husband, a truck driver who was often away, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said.
Plackowska told investigators her husband left her alone to care for her son Justin and work as a maid, which she felt was beneath her, Berlin said at a bond hearing.
“She told the detectives that she thought by killing Justin she would make her husband hurt the way she hurt in their relationship,’’ Berlin said.
Plackowska told investigators she found Justin and Olivia Dworakowski — whom she was babysitting that night — jumping on the bed, Berlin said.
“She had grabbed the knife and she made both victims kneel and begin praying. She began stabbing her son Justin and told him he was going to heaven tonight. He pleaded for his life and told her to stop. But she continued stabbing him until he was dead,’’ he said at a news conference after the hearing.
“She then turned her attention to 5-year-old Olivia and began stabbing her with the knife multiple times. She, as well, pleaded for her life, but the defendant continued to stab her until she was deceased.’’
Plackowska killed Olivia because she had witnessed the attack on Justin, Berlin said.
The slayings took place at the home of Olivia’s mother who works nights as a nurse and had left her daughter in the woman’s care before. Plackowska also stabbed the two family dogs.
“In all my years in law enforcement, this is the most gruesome and horrific crime scene that I have seen,’’ Naperville Police Chief Bob Marshall said at the news conference. Naperville is 25 miles west of Chicago.
Investigators found two blood-stained knives; one in the kitchen sink and another in Plackowska’s car, Berlin said.
After the killings, Plackowska left a message on the answering machine of a Naperville church saying she had done something bad and needed assistance, Berlin said.
Plackowska initially told investigators that a stalker had broken into the home where Olivia lived with her mother, and that it was the stalker who killed the children. She later said the children were evil and that she was fighting the devil in the house, Berlin said at the hearing.
When police confronted her about the inconsistencies during hours of questioning, Plackowska admitted that she lashed out because she was angry with her husband, he said.
Marshall said several of the investigators knew Olivia after she was reported missing in August when she went to the wrong kindergarten class on the first day of school.
The officers told him “she was such a sweet and loving little girl,’’ Marshall said.
Plackowska arrived in the United States from her native Poland on a tourist visa 12 years ago, said Berlin. She is not a U.S. citizen and authorities were trying to verify her immigration status. Berlin said she has no prior history of violence, although she had a misdemeanor DUI from about 10 years ago.
DuPage County Judge John Kinsella ordered Plackowska held without bond. Plackowska didn’t speak during the hearing other than to indicate she could not afford an attorney. The judge appointed a public defender.

Olivia and Justin, poor little angels. I have not found pictures of them yet. Even made the paper here locally. Here's another mother so mad at her spouse as to kill her children. Love, not hate. If you don't love your spouse then leave, don't kill the kids. We don't have the death penality here now unfortunately. This woman should be put to death.

Illinois babysitter accused of killing two children gives police mixed stories
November 3, 2012
People are reeling over the tragic incident that happened this week
in Naperville, Ill. when Elzbieta Plackowska allegedly brutally stabbed
two children to death. Olivia Dworakowski, 5, was stabbed 50 times while
Jacob Plackowska, 7, was apparently stabbed 100 times. The Huffington Post shared the latest available details on Friday, Nov. 2.
Elzbieta Plackowska is a Polish immigrant who has been in the U.S.
for 12 years. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement shared that
Plackowska was possibly facing deportation before the horrific incident
and she is currently being held without bail after the murders. Jacob,
her son, and Olivia, the girl she'd been babysitting, were told to get
on their knees and pray just before Elzbieta allegedly murdered them.
She went on to tell officials several different stories about what
happened, and eventually admitted that she's been angry that her husband
had been gone so much. Friday she said that she's been upset over her
father's death, but there's no clear tie between that and her decision
to viciously murder the children.
After the murders, Plackowska is said to have driven to a Catholic
church and after finding it closed up, she drove to a friend's home.
Police arrested her there. Radar Online
notes that two family dogs were also stabbed to death, and police have
found two knives connected to the slaying. The crime scene was so
horrific that many officers have pursued counseling, and it is all the
more difficult because several of them had spent time with little Olivia
a while back.
People will be following this heartbreaking case to see what further
details emerge. It bears some uncanny similarities to the recent NYC
nanny stabbing case involving Yoselyn Ortega,
who killed two children in her care allegedly because she was worried
about her job and offended she was being asked to do some housekeeping
work to earn extra money.

Here's a few pictures of the little angels.
I just don't know why someone would kill a child. I would love them with all my heart and soul. Just breaks my heart to see their faces and realize they are gone. We need a national death penality for the killing of a child.
