A Brooksville mother is charged with first degree murder for the death of her infant child.
April Weber's Facebook page includes this photo of her daughter Aubrie.
Hernando County Sheriff's deputies say April Nichol Brooklynn Weber called 911 on Sunday afternoon to report that she accidentally dropped her 6-week-old baby, Aubrie.
The injuries to the baby were severe, she was rushed to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital where she died.
Doctors told detectives that the baby had bi-lateral skull fractures on the left and right sides of her head and bleeding within her skull. Doctors also told investigators that they resuscitated the infant three times.
Deputies say Weber later admitted she lifted Aubrie by the legs and threw the infant on the bed. The child bounced off the bed and onto the floor. Deputies say Weber went on to admit she picked the child up and threw her again, striking the dresser.
On Facebook, Weber had posted several photos of Aubrie. Her husband, Harry Weber posted this today:" It has come to light that April has lost her temper at Aubrie... I knew she had problems at times with Aubrie, but never in my life did I imagine it would come to this."
Weber is being held without bond in the Hernando County Jail. She is charged with felony first degree murder and child abuse.

I read about this story in a News article right after it happened. My baby girl was the same exact age when this incident occurred, so it struck me hard. In the article it stated the mother April admitted to throwing the baby Aubrey against her dresser then the baby fell on the floor. Then April threw the sweet baby on the bed and I think she fell off that again. That precious baby would be 4 months right now just beginning to eat rice cereal. I hope the mother rots. RIP sweet baby Aubrey. May God bless your precious soul. You are in my prayers little angel.

BROOKSVILLE --
Deputies have arrested a Brooksville mother they say admitted to fatally injuring her infant daughter by twice picking her up above her head and throwing her.
April Nichol Brooklyn Weber, 26, was charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse and booked in the Hernando County Detention Center.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, deputies and fire rescue personnel responded to a report of an injured infant at a home on the 22000 block of Mondon Hill Road. The first responders immediately determined that 6-week-old Aubrie Weber's injures were severe and had her airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
Detectives were later told that Aubrie had to be resuscitated three times and that she had skull fractures on both sides of her head and bleeding within her skull.
She died at 9:42 p.m.
According to an arrest report, April Weber initially said she dropped the infant accidentally while bouncing her on her knee, but upon further questioning, she changed her story.
Detectives said April Weber admitted to lifting Aubrie by the legs above her head and throwing her onto the bed so hard she bounced off and landed on the floor.
The mother said she again picked up Aubrie above her head and threw her, and this time she struck a dresser, the report said.
On Monday night just outside the couple’s house, Aubrie’s father, Harry, spoke about his daughter’s death. He was full of emotion and had trouble holding back the tears.
"To see my little girl like that, no parent should ever have to go through this," he said. “I never thought it would end up this way.”
Weber said Aubrie was a determined young baby and showed us a picture of her taken at the hospital just after she was born.
"We would put her on her belly for tummy time and she would still try and scoot across the floor,” Weber said.
Weber said Aubrie was born with a club foot and that his wife would often get frustrated with the infant, but he said he often had to take the baby to help.
"The times I would see that she would start to get a little frustrated, I would take Aubrie from her,” he said.
Harry believes his wife may have had post-partum depression but he never expected anything like this. He said he’s not ready to talk with his, at least, not now.
"I just want the justice system to do it's job for me, for Aubrey, for my family," Weber said. "I just know I'll always love her and never forget her."
Weber said his wife never did tell him what really happened but did say she was sorry.
The baby's grandfather has said there were no signs of abuse prior to this. The Department of Children and Families said Weber was not on their radar either.
April Weber was booked in the Hernando County Detention Center and is being held without bail. She will face a judge at the Hernando District Courthouse on Tuesday.
