Craven deputies seek missing teen

Craven County Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing juvenile who has been spotted in Craven and Carteret counties.

Phillip Cody Jones, 16, was last seen July 6 at 409 Plantation Drive in River Bend. The 5-foot, 8-inches tall, 140-pound teenager has brown hair, green eyes and wears glasses and braces. He was last seen wearing a black hat, gray Hurley shirt, tan shorts and no shoes, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Jones goes by the name “Cody” and may be in the company of Ashley Poppell, his girlfriend, deputies say.

Anyone assisting Cody in avoiding law enforcement could be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Craven County Sheriff’s Office at 636-6620.

GRANTSBORO | Phillip Cody Jones, 16, who had been reported missing on July 6 and who was being sought by Craven County Sheriff’s deputies, has been found.
On Monday, the department issued requests for help in finding the teen, who goes by his middle name, Cody.
Last seen on Plantation Drive in River Bend, he was spotted Tuesday at the Food Lion parking lot in Pamlico County by a store clerk at Wilco Hess.
The clerk, recognizing him from news sources, contacted the sheriff’s office.
