Tampa FL - Casey Anthony is fighting to have a civil lawsuit filed against her thrown out.
A federal judge said on Monday he will make a ruling within thirty days.
he lawsuit was filed by Zenaida Gonzalez, who's suing Anthony for defamation.
The attorneys for Gonzalez claim her life was ruined after Anthony used a similar name for a fictitious nanny who she claimed had abducted her daughter, Caylee in 2008.
Caylee's remains were found in a wooded area near her grandparents home months later.
Anthony was acquitted of her daughters murder in 2011. She later filed for bankruptcy.
The bankruptcy discharged her previous debts, but Gonzalez wants potential damages from her civil suit against Anthony to be exempt from bankruptcy.
The hearing was in federal court in Tampa. Neither Anthony, nor Gonzalez, were in court Monday morning.
Anthony's attorney's believe the lawsuit is frivolous, and only serves to "bolster the name of the Morgan and Morgan law firm," David Schrader, said.
The Morgan and Morgan law firm initially represented Zenaida Gonzalez in the civil suit.
Anthony's attorney's filed for a summary judgement in favor of Anthony. If the judge grants it, Gonzalez will not be granted a trial.
Gonzalez eventually wants a jury to decide if Anthony defamed Gonzalez.
