Nearly A Year

It has been nearly a year since I went away
I thought forever there with you I would stay
I love it here so high above the clouds and sun
I am always happy now and I have so much fun

Once or twice I tried to find my way back to you
But God said my time with you was forever through
I then called out your names to tell you good-bye
I even thought I heard Grandpa scream and ask why

I can't recall your faces and your voices are also gone
The only sounds I now hear are sweet angelic songs
All the memories of you no longer reside in my mind
When I got to heavens door, I had to leave them behind

Finally I am now at peace and I love my new hereafter
There's so much happiness, it makes me burst with laughter
I must forever go now, never to think of you all again
No longer will you hear my little voice carried on the wind
