Cynthia Knott still looks out her front door, hoping she'll see her son coming home.

Richard Knott was just 15 when he vanished April 24.

"I'm
sad," his mother said. "I just wish he would call me, call somebody
just to let me know how he's doing. Six months is a long time."

Police
and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children characterize
Richard Knott, who is now 16, as an endangered runaway. His mother
doesn't see it that way. She believes he was led away by an adult man
with whom the boy was intimately involved.
"I'm a mother, I had a funny feeling," she said.
As
the months have gone by, Cynthia Knott has grown more and more
frustrated by what she calls an inactive investigation. That's why she
reached out to County Councilman Tony Knotts.

"There's
no reason for a mother to be here this extended period of time, worried
about her 15-year-old child, to not have an answer," Knotts said.

Knott says her son loved music, his friends and talking on the phone. She hopes he's fine and that he sees this story.

"Richard, call me," she said, "come home."

Police will only say it is an active investigation and leads will be pursued as they surface.
