Lacey police have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of
first-degree child assault after his 7-week-old daughter was admitted
to Seattle Children’s Hospital with a broken femur.Christopher
Slipp was arrested at his home Wednesday and booked into the Thurston
County Jail on suspicion of child assault. He was being held there late
Thursday with bail set at $100,000, a jail intake worker said. A
doctor at Olympia Pediatrics notified Lacey police about the girl’s
injury Tuesday because it appeared to be the result of “non-accidental
trauma,” court papers state. The girl’s parents initially brought the
child to Olympia Pediatrics, but they later transported her to the
Seattle hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. In Seattle,
doctors found that the baby also had nine healing rib fractures and two
areas of brain trauma, court papers state. Authorities took the infant
into protective custody, Lacey Police Lt. Jim Mack said.
