---I am so sorry. I must insert myself into this discussion. I was the one who removed the slang. It does not belong on this board. PERIOD! If you refer to African-Americans you will not be permitted to use the N-word. The other word well, let's just say that I wouldn't even repeat it. Suffice to say it referred to an anatomical part of the DECEASED. Sheesh Mrs J, if you want to condone that stuff do it on your own damn blog....IMHO!mrsj04 wrote:alwaysbelieve wrote:If your going to post, speak english and not slang. mrsjo4, IMO you are wrong to demand others not to judge. In days gone by fear of being judged by peers kept the majority of people from making choices that would bring shame upon themselves and their family. As a result the standard of morals in society were decent. Decency and morals have been eroded by people waving the NO JUDGEMENT flag. This mother with her 4 kids and 20 year old boyfriend had a role to play in what happened to this poor child whether you want to pretend she is just a victim or not.
The fact that a few others who have come on here embarrassing themselves were judged by some as out of line is as it should be in a decent world.

Not to make light of this, it is actually very serious, but I didn't understand half of what was being said in those posts.
I'm sure they had a point, they took the time to register and write something, so I conclude there was an intent to communicate. Unfortunately, due to the "text speak" and a very poor grasp of the English language, the only thing that was communicated was ignorance. And this goes straight to the heart of the problem, doesn't it?
MrsJ, you are mistaking "seeing the obvious" for "judging." There's no judgment. She left her child in the care of someone who was ill-equipped to handle a child. He killed the baby. Those are facts, not judgments.
I'm glad you have so much compassion for the extended family and friends, but my opinion is, this mom should not be coddled and made to feel as if she bears no responsibility. It was HER actions that DIRECTLY led to the death of her baby. Guess what? If you pat her on the back and tell her, "It's ok, it isn't your fault," she will just do it again. OBVIOUSLY, and again, I'm just stating the obvious, not judging, this mother is an extremely poor "judge" of character. The facts bear that out. She is culpable to a large extent for the death of her baby.

once again, we have a boyfriend killing the child of his girlfriend - where were the friends supporting her while this 20 year old was in the home? sex offenders show themselves in small ways - i find it very difficult to believe there was not a single sign that this animal was so perfect except for the day the mother went to work and he decided to destroy a life. the mother needs to be held accountable for her inaction.
she brought him into her children's lives - it is negligence at the very least and facilitation at the worst.

FORT WORTH - A Fort Worth man convicted of murder in the beating death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter was sentenced Friday to 99 years in prison.
Donald Ray Sparks Jr., 22, who had maintained he was not the one who
caused the child's injuries, had been charged with capital murder in the
death of little Brelynn Nobles, whom he was watching along with three
of her brothers and sisters while her mother was at work on April 28,
2010.
The jury in the 396th state district court found him guilty of a
lesser charge of murder but nonetheless handed him the 99-year sentence.
He would have faced life in prison without parole if convicted of
capital murder.
Prosecutors Alana Minton and Kim D'Avignon told jurors during opening
statements that the child died of abdominal injuries from a beating
after she had soiled her underpants.
A close friend of the mother's testified that she had agreed to watch
the children while the mother worked as a dancer but that she arrived
late from church. By the time she got there, the child was unconscious.
Defense attorney Wes Ball told jurors that Sparks maintained
throughout the investigation that the child was injured earlier in the
evening when others were present.
The case was heard by Visiting Judge Monte Lawlis.
