CHASE SINK - 4 Months - Chula Vista (SE of San Diego) CA

Chula Vista CA ---- A 4-month old baby boy is fighting to survive. Police suspect child abuse led to the baby's serious
injuries, and now because of the allegations a mother has lost custody of her children.
The 4-month old baby boy is at Rady Children's Hospital in
critical conditon. Police say he has broken
bones and swelling of the brain. The baby's
mother and babysitters say this is all being blown out of proportion.
Meanwhile Child Protective Services has taken away the mother's two other children.
Outside the 4-month's home, a 13-year old boy and 6-year
old girl were taken from their mother, Rayna Sink. Forcedto go with Child Protective Services.
The fallout from doctors at Rady Children's Hospital reporting their 4-month old baby
brother suffered brain swelling and broken bones. Rayna Sink, the baby's mother said, "I wasn't even there
when it happened . It's just not right...It's just not right."
Chula Vista police say on Friday they received a 911 call
from a home at 110 east "L" street. Police say a couple was taking care of the four month old. Sink
says she left her child in good hands, and doesn't understand *why* her
other children are being taken away.
Sink said, "My babies laying in critical condition in the
hospital now they are tearing my whole family apart, and what logical reason."
Police say the 4-month old was breathing when they arrived
at the house. They say they saw no visible injuries, but took the baby to the hospital as a precaution.
Lt. Eric Thunberg with Chula Vista Police said, "The hospital then
called us back, and said we have some significant injuries here that are criminal in nature."
Larry Daigle was helping his girlfriend take care of the baby. Daigle said, "We are trying to help a friend out
babysitting. My girlfriend thinks she's doing the right thing, and the story gets all twisted."
Daigle says the baby was never abused. He says the baby started
choking after his girlfriend changed the diaper.
Daigle said, "The baby she didn't know what was wrong. It was gasping for breath. It
was breathing and everything, so she called 911."
Sink doesn't hold Daigle or his girlfriend at fault. She just wants
her baby to survive and keep her family intact.Sink said, "How can they do this? How can
they do this when their brother is in the hospital critical condition then take them away."
