"Newborn Boy Doe" - 15 yo Mom - Bossier City LA

Investigators found an infant boy dead in a trash can late Wednesday night. Now, they're investigating the circumstances around the child's birth and death. Police have not filed any charges against the 15-year-old mother.The Bossier Parish Coroner says the baby was found dead in a trash can at a home on Voss Drive. The 15-year-old girl told investigators she didn't know she was pregnant until she had the child, and that the child was born stillborn."It's certainly abnormal. The thing is though, we have to realize that 15-year olds don't think logically. I'm sure she was scared to death by the whole situation going on, and her first thought was to protect herself," said Bossier Parish Coroner, Dr. John Chandler. The Coroner performed an autopsy Thursday that showed the baby was either at or close to full term. However, he could not tell if the baby boy had ever been alive at birth, which is the big question in this case."That's going to give us info as to what happened when it was born, and also mainly to, or at least a case being presented to the District Attorney's office for possible criminal charges," said Chandler. Chandler said he won't get final results back for another few weeks.Police will not comment on the investigation because it's ongoing.
