The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what led to a teen’s body being dumped Friday
morning in Ash-Carleton Park in the Village of Carleton.Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to
the park off Horan St. about 8:39 a.m. Friday on a report of a body
being dropped off in the park. Deputies found the body of 15-year-old
Nate Whitehead, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two subjects in a vehicle were
observed leaving the deceased at the park, according to deputies. The
description of the vehicle was broadcast over the radio and shortly
afterward the suspect vehicle was located and stopped. The two subjects
were detained and transported to the Monroe County jail for questioning.

No signs of trauma were observed on the body, which was taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. Traces of Coricidin and Oxycontin were found in body of high doses. Viewing and ceremony will be held at Jaton Funeral in Grosse Ile, Michigan. Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 3 to 5. An honorary dinner will be hosted after the viewing at Outback Steakhouse on Fort Rd, in Grosse Ile.
