On Wednesday, the trial started for 26-year-old Priscilla Mechell. Kourtney Calhoun, 22, took the stand saying Mechell kidnapped one week old Ryder while she took a nap. When Calhoun woke up, she said her baby and Mechell were gone.Police said they later found the baby at the bottom of a dumpster at an abandoned gas station in West. Mechell supposedly admitted to tossing the baby into the garbage filled bin.Police also claim Mechell was pretending to be pregnant and tried passing little Ryder off as her own. The defense attorney said Mechell never physically hurt the baby but said quote "she did an unexplainable, horrible thing."Mechell is charged with aggravated kidnapping, injury to a child and abandoning a child. She already pled guilty to abandoning a child. The trial continues Thursday morning.
