COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A Colorado Springs family is searching for a teenage girl missing for a week. Nickie Schwarz, 16, is a junior at Air Academy High School. Her parents said she ran away after school on Monday, September 4th.Since then, Holly and Joseph Schwarz have covered the city with fliers with Nickie's school picture. Their search has become desperate. Nickie relies on medication for severe asthma and emotional problems."It's real important that she gets those medicines," said Joseph Schwarz. "She could become suicidal or hurt herself without the medicine she's supposed to have."He said his daughter got in trouble on Monday for leaving school during the day."They caught her coming back to school, she was supposed to receive a detention," said Schwarz. "That night she never came home."He and his wife later found out that Nickie spent Monday night with friends, and then was dropped off at a park in the Rockrimmon area on Tuesday.A jogger found Nickie's purse on Saturday at America The Beautiful Park. Her wallet and I.D. were in the bag, but her cell phone was not."She's not called. Her phone's been turned off, and so no one has heard from her at all, that we know of," said Schwarz.Nickie was spotted at the Mountainscape Inn in Colorado Springs Sunday night. El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies searched the hotel for about half an hour, but didn't find Nickie.The hotel manager told Nickie's father that Nickie had dyed her hair black, and was with two young men in their late-teens, early 20's. She said the group was traveling in a small, dark-colored pick-up truck with a teal stripe.Call Colorado Springs Police with any information at 444-7240.
