Incident leads to charges of rape, false imprisonment
MOULTRIE — Two men were apprehended early Tuesday morning after they allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl who had run away from her home Monday night.
Torronza Lemeke McNeal, 30, of Moultrie, was charged with rape, aggravated assault and false imprisonment. Calvin Bernard Harrison, 40, of Doerun, was charged with rape.
A Colquitt County sheriff’s deputy was called to a house on Anderson Drive about 11 p.m. Monday about a runaway juvenile. The deputy spoke with a woman who stated her 16-year-old daughter walked away from her house following an argument, and she was seen heading toward Highway 133.
The deputy searched the area for about 30 minutes but could not locate the girl. About 4:52 a.m. Tuesday, however, a Moultrie police officer was called to Sixth Street Southeast. An unknown person reported they saw a girl wearing a black dress walking near the Roses shopping center.
Officers searched the area and found the girl walking on Fourth Avenue Southeast, and the deputy was notified the girl was found. While waiting for the deputy to arrive, the girl told the officer she had been sexually assaulted by two black males.
When the deputy arrived, he drove the girl around the area with the officer behind to try and locate where the alleged incident took place. She identified a house on Ninth Avenue Southeast, and officers found McNeal and Harrison inside and placed them under arrest. They were taken to Colquitt County Jail while the girl was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
