KATHLIEN MARIE BISHOP - 14 yo - Nashville TN

A teenage girl from Jefferson County is missing. Her family believes she willingly ran away to Tennessee with a boyfriend she met online. And while police consider her a runaway, her mom says she's a little 14 year old girl lost in a grownup world. They want other families to hear their story, and learn a lesson.
"I just want her home. That's all. I want my baby," says Carie Bishop through tears. She hasn't heard from her daughter since Saturday morning, when she dropped her off at a friend's home with the idea that Kathlien was getting ready for the homecoming dance that night. But Kathlien left her friend's home just minutes later, presumably to join up with the 17 year old boyfriend she'd met online, and drive to his home in Nashville.
Carie never saw it coming.
"Watch what your child is doing on the internet, because you never know," she says.
Carie traced her daughter's cell phone to Nashville, and drove there to try to find her daughter, but Kathlien will not answer her phone or return text messages. She is communicating, sort of, by changing the outgoing message on her cell phone's voice mail.
"She just said she wasn't a kid any more. And she is a kid. She's 14. 14 years old is a kid!" says Carie, crying. "She's not in trouble. I just want her home," she says.
The internet may be to blame for this ordeal, but Kathlien's family is trying to use it in a good way: her aunt Kirstine Porter created a Facebook page to spread the word. "Help Bring Kathlien Marie Bishop Home" is the name of the page. It has 174 friends.
Kathlien is from Imperial. Her family has filed missing person's reports with police in Jefferson County and Nashville. Kathlien's picture and her boyfriend's photo are being circulated among police in Nashville.
"I just want everybody to know that they need to watch their kids," says Carie, "because you don't know, I never ever thought my daughter would do this to me. Never."
"Is she OK or is she not? I don't know. And I won't know until she's home," she says. "I pray every night she just walks through the door. That's all I want."
Her mom says the teens met on a fairly standard social networking website called mocospace.com.

UPDATE! so last night she changed her voice mail greeting to a message telling her mom she is fine and that she doesn't wanna come home that she will come home when she is ready. her mom has contacted the FBI because of Kath being a minor and crossing state lines. the local police are now involved and when she is returned home she will go straight to juvenile, everyone is upset and worried because at first she stated she wanted to come home and now she won't even talk to anyone on the phone. we are hoping he is not making her say these things. that is all i have for now i wanted to thank you all for your kind words and all the bumps. as soon as i know more i will update again. just pls keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
