"Toddler John" JOHNSON - 3 yo - Augusta GA

A woman was arrested Tues­day after her 3-year-old died with prescription painkiller in his system Oct. 10, a report shows. Alana Johnson, 45, took the boy to Medical College of Georgia Hospital about 4:40 p.m. after she found him unresponsive in their home in the 4600 block of Mike Padgett Highway, a report states.He was pronounced dead at 5:35 p.m., and a test showed he had methadone in his bloodstream, a report states. Johnson said she is ad­ministered the narcotic by Augusta Metro Treatment Cen­ter and did not know how it got into her son. She was arrested on suspicion of second-degree child cruelty.
