CONYERS — Police are asking the public for help in finding a missing teenager, who was last seen Wednesday after coming home from school. Exzavis Jerrod Smith, 15, came home after school Wednesday, Nov. 3, gave his bookbag to his older brother, and left, refusing to say where he was going. The Rockdale County High School student has not been seen at home or school since, according to a Conyers Police alert released over the weekend. With the cold temperatures and the lack of activity on his cell phone, CPD investigators are asking the public to notify them with any information about the whereabouts of Smith, according to the alert. Smith is described as about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds, and with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with turquoise symbols, a white or black T-shirt, a black hoodie, and white and turquoise Adidas tennis shoes. Anyone with tips is asked to contact Detective Scott Slater at the Conyers Police Department, 770-929-4205 or Conyers Police Dispatch at 770-483-6600.

CONYERS — The police said late Monday the Conyers teenager who had been missing since Wednesday was found unharmed at a relative’s house. Conyers Police Det. Scott Slater said in an e-mail Exzavis Jerrod Smith, 15, is safe and unharmed. In a follow-up call, police said he was found at his sister’s house in Clayton County following a domestic dispute at home. The announcement Monday night ended a search that began after Smith was reported missing last week. Police put out a bulletin Saturday asking the public for assistance after they could not find any activity on Smith’s cell phone. CPD Lt. Jackie Dunn said Smith was discovered at his sister’s house in Jonesboro following a weekend search. Dunn said the sister was one of several possibilities in their investigation and asked Smith’s family to go the sister’s house. “They said they heard activity inside the house, but no one responded so they didn’t go in,” Dunn said. “It was after they left that we got a call from him telling us he was there.” Clayton County Police assisted in the investigation, Dunn said. Smith came home after school Wednesday, gave his bookbag to his older brother, and left, refusing to say where he was going. The Rockdale County High School student was not heard from since that point. The police issued the alert after concerns from the lack of activity from Smith’s cell phone and the dropping temperatures over the weekend. “We couldn’t get anything on his phone and after talking to his friends at school we were hitting dead ends,” Dunn said. “We had no way of telling if this was a case of a runaway or not, but regardless, I’m glad it turned out the way it did.”http://www.rockdalecitizen.com/home/headlines/Missing_teen_found_safe.html
