It's been one week since 17-year old Queen Ononiua of Chicopee was last seen by her family. Saturday night, her parents spoke with 22News about their daughter's disappearance.
Margorien Ononiua said the last time she saw her daughter was on November 27th. At the time she was wearing a white jacket and blue jeans. She described her daughter as quiet and shy. According to police reports, Queen is five feet one inch tall and weighs about 110 pounds. Her parents said they don't believe she ran away because she only took her iPod and house key with her, but they fear she may have been kidnapped. They said they just want her to come home. "We just want you to come home. We love you and really miss you. No one is going to ask why you did take off. Maybe's she's scared to come back. We want her to know we are open minded. So just come home that's it," said Margorien and Pedro Ononiua.
If you have any information on the wherabouts of Queen Ononiua, please call the Chicopee Detectives Bureau at 594-1721.

Re: QUEEN ONONIUA - 17 yo - Chicopee (N of Springfield) MA
It's been more than a week since a 17-year-old Chicopee girl went missing. Now, her parents are asking the community for help, as they search for the teen they say would not*have run away.
The last time Marjorie and Pedro Ononiua saw their 17-year-old daughter Queen, she had just put up the Christmas decorations that adorn their Chicopee home. "She's very quiet, she only goes places with one of us," says Queen's mother Marjorie. "So it's not like her to leave with anyone else besides her family." But last Saturday, they think Queen may have grabbed her iPod and her keys, and either taken a walk, or gone down the street to the store. "She didn't take anything and she locked the door, she had intentions on coming back home," says Marjorie. But Queen never made it home, and now this heartbroken family thinks somebody may have taken the shy 17-year-old. Her parents say the state police helicopter has been out looking for any trace of the girl, believed to be wearing blue jeans and a white winter coat with a fur-lined hood. "It's hard to wait, but it's just a matter of time. I have 100% faith that she's coming, but I don't know when," says Queen's father Pedro. Her family has been out searching around the woods and the river as well, and trying to keep up hope that Queen will turn up alive. "If anyone has any information to bring her home and help us we would appreciate it," says Marjorie. "A lot of people have helped us, and we just want to thank them." If you have any information on where Queen Ononiua may be, please call Chicopee police.

dead behind a West Springfield shopping center three weeks after she
disappeared.
Seventeen-year-old Queen Ononiua will be laid to rest on Thursday at Bethany Assembly of God church in Agawam.
The high school sophomore went missing Nov. 27 and was found Dec. 18 behind the Riverdale Shopping Center.

Re: QUEEN ONONIUA - 17 yo - Chicopee (N of Springfield) MA
The mood was somber at the Bethany Assembly of God Church in Agawam
Thursday morning, as family, friends, and even strangers came to mourn
the loss of 17 year old Queen Ononiua.
Ononiua was reported missing November 27. Her lifeless body was found
near the Connecticut River in West Springfield almost two weeks ago.
Police said that they found no evidence of trauma or foul play. Though
the way that she died is still a mystery, Thursday's funeral wasn't
about Ononiua's death, rather it was a celebration of her life. At
the funeral, friends and family said that Ononiua, who came to the U.S.
from Tanzania when she was 14 years old, was a quiet girl with a huge
heart. Many people came to the funeral dressed in pink in honor
of Ononiua's favorite color. Even the Programs were designed in pink.
Prayer cards from the funeral read, "We little knew that morning, God
was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly, in death we do
the same."
