"Baby Jane Doe" - 4 Months - Havelock (S end of Marine Corps/Cherry Point AS) NC

Havelock police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby girl found in an apartment Sunday afternoon.The child was found in a residence on Witten Circle following a 911 call from a relative at about 12:20 p.m., Havelock Police Chief G. Wayne Cyrus said.Cyrus said the child was found in the apartment where she had been residing.“When we arrived, officers began CPR on the child and then EMS units arrived and continued CPR until such time that they determined the child was deceased,” Cyrus said Monday.Cyrus said an autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday morning, and that Havelock police had been in close contact with the District Attorney’s Office.He said the investigation was continuing, and declined to comment on the specifics of the case.“We’re still conducting our interviews and doing our follow-ups,” he said.
