LONE JACK, Mo. (AP) -- Police in a small east-central Missouri town say a man and 7-year-old boy were found dead at a house.
Police Chief Bill Forbes says family members called police after finding the bodies Tuesday evening in Lone Jack, about 40 miles south of Kansas City. Authorities have not officially called the deaths a murder-suicide, but said residents did not need to fear that a murder suspect was at large.
The relationship between the victims was not released until relatives can be contacted.

Man found dead in Lone Jack house is identified

Police on Wednesday identified one of the two people found dead in a Lone Jack house as Clinton Gallagher, 35.The
name of the other victim, a 6-year-old boy, has not been released.
Police also were not releasing information on how the two were related.Relatives found Gallagher and the boy dead about 7 p.m. Tuesday, police said.Early
reports referred to the deaths as an apparent murder/suicide, but Lone
Jack Deputy Chief Michael Travis said it was premature to do so. Police
are waiting for autopsies and a medical examiner’s report before saying
how the two died. Travis said Gallagher had lived in Lone Jack for about four years and was married.Lone Jack school officials said they made additional counseling staff available to speak with students about the child’s death.
