The New Braunfels Police Department is investigating the death of a teen found Sunday morning in a field but few details were available.
The 15-year-old boy's body was found just before 11 a.m. in the 2700 block of FM 1044, according to a news release from New Braunfels police.
The teen's name is not being released and no other details were
given. The news release also didn't include information on who found the
body, whether there was any trauma to the body or if the boy had been
reported missing.
The release said “further details will be released as they become available.”
New Braunfels officials could not be reached for comment Sunday afternoon.

Boy found dead in field identified
Police on Monday identified a body found in a field Sunday as that of 16-year-old David Allen Walker.The
cause of death was not immediately apparent, officials said in a
statement. "Therefore, further investigation and the results of the
autopsy and toxicological tests are required before any additional
information will be released," it said.The body was found just
before 11 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of FM 1044, police said. The
statement didn't say who found the body, whether there was trauma or
whether the boy had been reported missing.

A father searching for his missing son found him dead right in front of their own home.

The
body of 16-year-old David Allen Walker was found Sunday morning in a
field off of FM 1044, near Green Valley Road on the South Side of New
Braunfels. David was last seen at his neighbor's home. Some time between
9:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. Sunday, something happened to David.

Police in New Braunfels are now investigating his mysterious death.

David's grandmother, Sally Martin, fought back tears as she talked about her grandson.

"He loved books, the computer. He was kind of a computer nerd," she said. "He had a girlfriend that he was very fond of."

Martin described David as an avid pool player, a straight-A student who never got in trouble or spent a night away from home.

"It's
a tragedy to me because he had such promise, and he could've done
something to really help the world," said Sally. "He was so
intelligent."

David's family filed a missing persons report early
Sunday morning after he went missing Saturday night. A few hours later,
Sally said her son, David's father, found his lifeless body in the
grassy field in front of their home.

"I've never heard him
scream like that," Sally told us. "But he was gone when we found...It
was obvious he had been there for a while."

With no signs of
trauma or weapons nearby, David's family is trying to piece together
what happened. Police say the circumstances around this case is
'unusual,' and tell News 4 WOAI they are not investigating David's death
as a suicide.

"He was a cool person, " said Damian Leal, a childhood friend of David's. "A funny person, always laughing and jokes and stuff."

"We think someone did something to David," said Sally. "But we are leaving it in the police's hands."
