A D.A. investigation team says a 3-year-old girl
is currently brain dead after being found unresponsive at an Albany
apartment complex Sunday morning at 507 Swift Street.Albany
Police say they responded to a call at 10 a.m. Sunday regarding an
unresponsive child. APD says the girl was taken to Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital when her condition became critical. D.A. Investigator
Greg Blackmon says the child was then transported to the Medical Center
of Georgia in Macon for more treatment.Investigators
with the Child Death Team are investigating what happened that led to
the child’s condition. Blackmon says traces of marijuana were found in
the child's blood, which he says could have come from someone around the
child smoking it.Blackmon says the team is currently questioning the mother and the live-in boyfriend.

ALBANY, GA -- A 3-year-old found unresponsive over the weekend passed away
Monday at 2:30 p.m., according to the District Attorney's Office.
An APD police report says the 3-year-old girl was taken to Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital 10 a.m. on Sunday after she was found unresponsive.
D.A. Investigator Greg Blackmon says her condition became critical and
was transported to the Medical Center of Georgia in Macon. Investigators

Live-in boyfriend Rico Jones is currently in the Dougherty County Jail and charged with
Reckless conduct, according to the D.A.'s Office.
