Casey Anthony trial: 17 prospective jurors emerge by end of day
Attorneys and Chief Judge Belvin Perry will continue selecting jurors Tuesday.

Attorneys and the chief judge presiding over the jury selection process for Casey Anthony’s first-degree murder trial made headway Monday, bringing the total of prospective panel members to 17 by the early evening.
Those 17 prospective jurors passed the initial rounds in a Pinellas County courtroom after extensive questioning ranging from their thoughts on the death penalty to their news-viewing habits.
However, none of those prospective jurors have been sworn in and any could still be eliminated by the state or defense if either side decides to use its preemptory challenges.
The jury selection process will resume at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
